< Psalms 49 >
1 To the choirmaster - of [the] sons of Korah a psalm. Hear this O all the peoples give ear O all [the] inhabitants of [the] world.
Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He himene ma nga tama a Koraha.
2 Both [the] children of humankind as well as [the] children of man alike [the] rich and [the] needy.
E nga tangata iti, koutou ko nga tangata rahi, e te tangata taonga korua ko te rawakore.
3 Mouth my it will speak wisdom and [the] meditation of heart my [will be] understanding.
Ka whakapuakina he matauranga e toku mangai: a he ata ngarahu te whakaaro o toku ngakau.
4 I will incline to a proverb ear my I will open with a harp riddle my.
5 Why? will I fear in days of trouble [the] iniquity of heels my it surrounds me.
6 Those relying on wealth their and in [the] greatness of rich[es] their they boast.
Ko te hunga e whakawhirinaki ana ki o ratou taonga, e whakamanamana ana ki te nui o o ratou rawa;
7 A brother not certainly he will ransom anyone not he will give to God ransom his.
E kore tetahi o ratou e ahei te hoko i tona teina, te hoatu ranei i tetahi utu mona ki te Atua;
8 So it may be costly [the] ransom of life their and he will cease for ever.
He nui hoki te utu mo to ratou wairua, a me whakarere atu ake ake;
9 So he may live still to perpetuity not he will see the pit.
Kia ora tonu ai ia ake ake: kia kaua e kite i te pirau.
10 For anyone will see - wise [people] they die alike a fool and a stupid [person] they perish and they leave to other [people] wealth their.
E kite ana hoki ia e matemate ana nga tangata whakaaro nui, e ngaro ngatahi ana te poauau me te whakaarokore, a mahue iho o ratou taonga ki etahi atu.
11 Inner being their houses their - for ever dwelling places their to a generation and a generation they called with names their on lands.
Ki to ratou whakaaro puku, tera e pumau tonu o ratou whare me o ratou nohoanga, ki nga whakatupuranga katoa: huaina iho o ratou whenua ki o ratou ingoa.
12 And humankind in honor not he remains he is like like the animals [which] they are destroyed.
Heoi kahore te tangata e noho tonu i roto i te honore: ko tona rite kei nga kararehe ka moti nei.
13 This [is] way their stupidity [belongs] to them and after them - in mouth their they take delight (Selah)
Ko to ratou ara tenei, ara ko to ratou poauau: heoi e whakapai ana to ratou uri ki a ratou korero. (Hera)
14 Like sheep - for Sheol they have been appointed death it will shepherd them and they ruled over them upright [people] - to the morning (and form their *Q(K)*) [is] for [the] consuming of Sheol from lofty abode of him. (Sheol )
Kei te hipi te rite: ko te wahi mo ratou ko te reinga; ko te mate hei hepara mo ratou, hei rangatira ano te hunga tika mo ratou i te ata; ko to ratou ataahua ma te reinga e whakamoti, kia kore ai he whare mona. (Sheol )
15 Surely God he will redeem life my from [the] hand of Sheol for he will take me (Selah) (Sheol )
Ma te Atua ia toku wairua e hoko mai i te reinga: ko ia hoki hei tukunga atu moku. (Hera) (Sheol )
16 May not you fear if he will become rich anyone if it will increase [the] honor of house his.
Kaua e wehi ua whai taonga te tangata, ina nui haere te kororia o tona whare;
17 For not in death his he will take anything not it will go down after him honor his.
Kahore hoki ana mea e mau atu ai ia ina mate; e kore tona kororia e tuku iho i muri i a ia.
18 For self his in life his he blessed and people praise you if you will do well to yourself.
Whakapai noa ia i tona wairua i a ia e ora ana; a ka whakamoemititia koe ua pai au mahi ki a koe ano.
19 It will go to [the] generation of ancestors his until perpetuity not they will see light.
20 Humankind with honor and not he understands he is like like the animals [which] they are destroyed.
