Psalms 49
1 To the choirmaster - of [the] sons of Korah a psalm. Hear this O all the peoples give ear O all [the] inhabitants of [the] world.
Untuk pemimpin biduan. Dari bani Korah. Mazmur. Dengarlah, hai bangsa-bangsa sekalian, pasanglah telinga, hai semua penduduk dunia,
2 Both [the] children of humankind as well as [the] children of man alike [the] rich and [the] needy.
baik yang hina maupun yang mulia, baik yang kaya maupun yang miskin bersama-sama!
3 Mouth my it will speak wisdom and [the] meditation of heart my [will be] understanding.
Mulutku akan mengucapkan hikmat, dan yang direnungkan hatiku ialah pengertian.
4 I will incline to a proverb ear my I will open with a harp riddle my.
Aku akan menyendengkan telingaku kepada amsal, akan mengutarakan peribahasaku dengan bermain kecapi.
5 Why? will I fear in days of trouble [the] iniquity of heels my it surrounds me.
Mengapa aku takut pada hari-hari celaka pada waktu aku dikepung oleh kejahatan pengejar-pengejarku,
6 Those relying on wealth their and in [the] greatness of rich[es] their they boast.
mereka yang percaya akan harta bendanya, dan memegahkan diri dengan banyaknya kekayaan mereka?
7 A brother not certainly he will ransom anyone not he will give to God ransom his.
Tidak seorangpun dapat membebaskan dirinya, atau memberikan tebusan kepada Allah ganti nyawanya,
8 So it may be costly [the] ransom of life their and he will cease for ever.
karena terlalu mahal harga pembebasan nyawanya, dan tidak memadai untuk selama-lamanya--
9 So he may live still to perpetuity not he will see the pit.
supaya ia tetap hidup untuk seterusnya, dan tidak melihat lobang kubur.
10 For anyone will see - wise [people] they die alike a fool and a stupid [person] they perish and they leave to other [people] wealth their.
Sungguh, akan dilihatnya: orang-orang yang mempunyai hikmat mati, orang-orang bodoh dan dungupun binasa bersama-sama dan meninggalkan harta benda mereka untuk orang lain.
11 Inner being their houses their - for ever dwelling places their to a generation and a generation they called with names their on lands.
Kubur mereka ialah rumah mereka untuk selama-lamanya, tempat kediaman mereka turun-temurun; mereka menganggap ladang-ladang milik mereka.
12 And humankind in honor not he remains he is like like the animals [which] they are destroyed.
Tetapi dengan segala kegemilangannya manusia tidak dapat bertahan, ia boleh disamakan dengan hewan yang dibinasakan.
13 This [is] way their stupidity [belongs] to them and after them - in mouth their they take delight (Selah)
Inilah jalannya orang-orang yang percaya kepada dirinya sendiri, ajal orang-orang yang gemar akan perkataannya sendiri. (Sela)
14 Like sheep - for Sheol they have been appointed death it will shepherd them and they ruled over them upright [people] - to the morning (and form their *Q(K)*) [is] for [the] consuming of Sheol from lofty abode of him. (Sheol h7585)
Seperti domba mereka meluncur ke dalam dunia orang mati, digembalakan oleh maut; mereka turun langsung ke kubur, perawakan mereka hancur, dunia orang mati menjadi tempat kediaman mereka. (Sheol h7585)
15 Surely God he will redeem life my from [the] hand of Sheol for he will take me (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Tetapi Allah akan membebaskan nyawaku dari cengkeraman dunia orang mati, sebab Ia akan menarik aku. (Sela) (Sheol h7585)
16 May not you fear if he will become rich anyone if it will increase [the] honor of house his.
Janganlah takut, apabila seseorang menjadi kaya, apabila kemuliaan keluarganya bertambah,
17 For not in death his he will take anything not it will go down after him honor his.
sebab pada waktu matinya semuanya itu tidak akan dibawanya serta, kemuliaannya tidak akan turun mengikuti dia.
18 For self his in life his he blessed and people praise you if you will do well to yourself.
Sekalipun ia menganggap dirinya berbahagia pada masa hidupnya, sekalipun orang menyanjungnya, karena ia berbuat baik terhadap dirinya sendiri,
19 It will go to [the] generation of ancestors his until perpetuity not they will see light.
namun ia akan sampai kepada angkatan nenek moyangnya, yang tidak akan melihat terang untuk seterusnya.
20 Humankind with honor and not he understands he is like like the animals [which] they are destroyed.
Manusia, yang dengan segala kegemilangannya tidak mempunyai pengertian, boleh disamakan dengan hewan yang dibinasakan.
