Psalms 47

1 To the choirmaster - of [the] sons of Korah a psalm. O all the peoples strike a palm shout for joy to God with [the] sound of a shout of joy.

Voor muziekbegeleiding. Van de zonen van Kore; een psalm. Volkeren, klapt allen in de handen; Juicht en jubelt ter ere van God!

2 For Yahweh [the] Most High [is] to be feared a king great over all the earth.

Want ontzaglijk is Jahweh, de Allerhoogste, Een machtig Koning over heel de aarde.

3 He subdues peoples under us and peoples under feet our.

Hij legt de volken voor ons neer, En naties onder onze voeten;

4 He chooses for us inheritance our [the] pride of Jacob whom he loved (Selah)

Hij kiest het erfdeel voor ons uit, De trots van Jakob, zijn beminde.

5 He has gone up God with a shout of joy Yahweh with [the] sound of a ram's horn.

God stijgt ten troon met jubelzang, Jahweh met bazuingeschal!

6 Sing praises to God sing praises sing praises to king our sing praises.

Zingt en jubelt ter ere van God, Zingt en juicht voor onzen Koning!

7 For [is] [the] king of all the earth God sing praises a poem.

Want Hij is Koning van heel de aarde; Zingt dus een hymne ter ere van God!

8 He reigns God over nations God he sits - on [the] throne of holiness his.

God heeft het koningschap over de volkeren aanvaard, God heeft zijn heilige troon bestegen;

9 Noble [people] of peoples - they have gathered [the] people of [the] God of Abraham for [belong] to God [the] shields of earth exceedingly he is exalted.

De vorsten der volkeren sluiten zich aan Bij het volk van Abrahams God. Want Gode behoren de heersers der aarde; Hoog verheven is Hij alleen!
