Psalms 38
1 A psalm of David to make remembrance. O Yahweh may not in anger your you rebuke me and in wrath your may you chasten me.
Nkosi, ungangikhuzi entukuthelweni yakho, ungangijezisi ekuvutheni kolaka lwakho.
2 For arrows your they have penetrated me and it has come down on me hand your.
Ngoba imitshoko yakho ihlabe yatshona kimi, lesandla sakho sehle nzima phezu kwami.
3 There not [is] soundness in flesh my because of indignation your there not [is] health in bones my because of sin my.
Kakukho ukuphila enyameni yami ngenxa yentukuthelo yakho; kakukho ukuthula emathanjeni ami ngenxa yesono sami.
4 For iniquities my they have passed over head my like a burden heavy they are [too] heavy for me.
Ngoba iziphambeko zami zedlule phezu kwekhanda lami, njengomthwalo onzima zinzima kakhulu kimi.
5 They stink they fester wounds my because of folly my.
Izilonda zami zilevumba zilobomvu ngenxa yobuthutha bami.
6 I am bent down I am bent over up to muchness all the day mourning I have gone about.
Ngigungubele, ngagotshiselwa phansi kakhulu, usuku lonke ngihamba ngikwezimnyama.
7 For loins my they are full burning [pain] and there not [is] soundness in flesh my.
Ngoba ukhalo lwami lugcwele okutshileyo, njalo kakukho ukuphila enyameni yami.
8 I am numb and I am crushed up to muchness I roar from [the] groaning of heart my.
Ngibuthakathaka ngichobozekile kakhulukazi, ngiyabhonga ngenxa yokububula kwenhliziyo yami.
9 O Lord [is] before you all desire my and sighing my from you not it is hidden.
Nkosi, sonke isiloyiso sami siphambi kwakho, lokububula kwami kakufihlakalanga kuwe.
10 Heart my it palpitates it has left me strength my and [the] light of eyes my also they not [are] with me.
Inhliziyo yami iyatshaya, amandla ami angitshiyile; lokukhanya kwamehlo ami lakho kakukho kimi.
11 Friends my - and companions my from before plague my they stand and kinsmen my from a distance they have stood.
Abangithandayo labangane bami bema ummango lenhlupheko yami, labakwethu bema khatshana lami.
12 And they set traps - [those who] seek life my and [those who] seek harm my they have spoken destruction and deceit all the day they devise.
Labo abadinga impilo yami bayangithiya, labo abadinga ukoniwa kwami bakhuluma izincithakalo, bezindla inkohliso usuku lonke.
13 And I [am] like a deaf [person] not I hear and like a dumb [person] [who] not he opens mouth his.
Kodwa mina nginjengesacuthe, kangizwa, lanjengesimungulu, esingavuli umlomo waso.
14 And I have become like a man who not [is] hearing and there not in mouth his [are] arguments.
Yebo, nginjengomuntu ongezwayo, okungekho ukuphikisa emlonyeni wakhe.
15 For for you O Yahweh I have waited you you will answer O Lord God my.
Ngoba kuwe, Nkosi, ngiyathemba; wena uzaphendula, Nkosi Nkulunkulu wami.
16 For I said lest they should rejoice to me when slips foot my on me they magnified themselves.
Ngoba ngathi: Hlezi bathokoze ngami, lapho unyawo lwami lutshelela, bazikhukhumeze bemelene lami.
17 For I for stumbling [am] prepared and pain my [is] before me continually.
Ngoba sengiseduze lokuwa, lobuhlungu bami buphambi kwami njalonjalo.
18 For iniquity my I tell I am anxious from sin my.
Ngoba ngizakwazisa ububi bami, ngizakhathazeka ngesono sami.
19 And enemies my life they are numerous and they are many [those who] hate me falsehood.
Kodwa izitha zami ziphilile zilamandla, labangizonda ngeze sebandile.
20 And [those who] repay evil in place of good they accuse me in place of (pursuing my *Q(k)*) good.
Abaphindisela okubi esikhundleni sokuhle bayizitha zami, ngoba nginxwanela okulungileyo.
21 May not you forsake me O Yahweh O God my may not you be distant from me.
Ungangitshiyi, Nkosi; Nkulunkulu wami, ungabi khatshana lami.
22 Make haste! to help my O Lord salvation my.
Phangisa ungisize, Nkosi, nsindiso yami.
