< Psalms 32 >

1 Of David a poem how blessed! [is one who] is forgiven of transgression [is one who] is covered of sin.
Of David. A maskil. Happy those whose transgression is pardoned, whose sin is covered.
2 How blessed! [is] a person [whom] not he reckons Yahweh to him iniquity and there not in spirit his [is] deceit.
Happy are those, free from falseness of spirit, to whom the Lord reckons no debt of guilt.
3 If I kept silent they became worn out bones my in cry of distress my all the day.
When I held my peace, my bones wore away with my endless groaning;
4 For - by day and night it was heavy on me hand your it was changed juice my by [the] dry heat of summer (Selah)
for day and night did your hand lie heavy upon me. The sap of my life was dried up as with fierce summer-heat. (Selah)
5 Sin my I made known to you and iniquity my not I covered I said I will confess on transgressions my to Yahweh and you you forgave [the] guilt of sin my (Selah)
I began to acknowledge my sin, not concealing my guilt; and the moment I vowed to confess to the Lord my transgression, then you yourself did pardon the guilt of my sin. (Selah)
6 On this let him pray every faithful [person] - to you to a time of finding certainly to a flood of waters many to him not they will reach.
For this cause let all who are faithful pray to you in the time of distress; then, when the great waters rush, they will not reach to him.
7 You - [are] a hiding place of me from distress you will preserve me shouts of deliverance; [surely] you will surround me (Selah)
For you are my shelter, you protect me from trouble, and surround me with deliverance. (Selah)
8 I will instruct you - and I will teach you [the] way which you will go I will counsel [you] [will be] on you eye my.
‘With my eye steadfastly upon you, I will instruct and teach you The way you should go.
9 May not you be - like a horse like a mule [which] there not [is] understanding with bridle and halter trapping[s] its to restrain not to draw near to you.
Do not be like the horse or the mule, that have no understanding, but need bridle and halter to curb them, else they will not come near to you.’
10 Many pains [belong] to wicked [person] and the [one who] trusts in Yahweh covenant loyalty it will surround him.
The godless have many sorrows, but those who trust in the Lord will be compassed about by his kindness.
11 Rejoice in Yahweh and be glad O righteous [people] and shout for joy O all [people] upright of heart.
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, you righteous; and ring out your joy, all you upright in heart.
