< Psalms 3 >
1 A psalm of David when fled he from before - Absalom son his. O Yahweh how! they are many opponents my many [people] [are] rising up on me.
A Psalme of Dauid, when he fled from his sonne Absalom. Lord, howe are mine aduersaries increased? howe many rise against me?
2 Many [people] [are] saying of self my there not [is] deliverance for him in God (Selah)
Many say to my soule, There is no helpe for him in God. (Selah)
3 And you O Yahweh [are] a shield behind me honor my and [the one who] lifts up head my.
But thou Lord art a buckler for me: my glory, and the lifter vp of mine head.
4 Voice my to Yahweh I called out and he answered me from [the] mountain of holiness his (Selah)
I did call vnto the Lord with my voyce, and he heard me out of his holy mountaine. (Selah)
5 I I lay down and I slept! I awoke for Yahweh he sustains me.
I layed me downe and slept, and rose vp againe: for the Lord susteined me.
6 Not I will be afraid from ten thousands of people who all around they have taken a stand on me.
I will not be afrayde for ten thousand of the people, that should beset me round about.
7 Arise! O Yahweh - save me O God my for you have struck all enemies my jaw [the] teeth of wicked [people] you have broken.
O Lord, arise: helpe me, my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies vpon the cheeke bone: thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked.
8 [belongs] to Yahweh deliverance [is] towards people your blessing your (Selah)
Saluation belongeth vnto the Lord, and thy blessing is vpon thy people. (Selah)
