< Psalms 18 >
1 To the choirmaster - of [the] servant of Yahweh of David who he spoke - to Yahweh [the] words of the song this on [the] day [when] he delivered Yahweh him from [the] hand of all enemies his and from [the] hand of Saul. And he said I love you O Yahweh strength my.
E ALOHA aku no au ia oe, e Iehova, e ko'u ikaika.
2 Yahweh - [is] rock my and stronghold my and deliverer my God my [is] rock my [whom] I take refuge in him shield my and [the] horn of salvation my refuge my.
O Iehova ko'u pohaku, kuu pakaua, a me ko'u mea e ola'i; O ko'u Akua, ko'u oolea, a'u e hilinai ai; O ko'u paku, o ko'u hao e ola'i, o ko'u halepukaua kiekie.
3 [the one] to be praised I call out to Yahweh and from enemies my I am delivered.
E kahea aku au ia Iehova, ia ia ka hoolea, Pela au e hoopakeleia'i i ko'u mau enemi.
4 They encompassed me [the] cords of death and [the] torrents of worthlessness they overwhelmed me.
Ua puni au i ka ehaeha o ka make; Ua hooweliweli mai ia'u na ale o ka poe aia.
5 [the] cords of Sheol they surrounded me they confronted me [the] snares of death. (Sheol )
Ua puni au i na kaei o ka malu o ka make; Ua paa au i ko ka make upena. (Sheol )
6 When it was distress to me - I called out to Yahweh and to God my I cried for help he heard from temple his voice my and cry for help my before him - it came in ears his.
I ko u popilikia ana, ua kahea aku au ia Iehova, Ua auwe aku au i ko'u Akua; Ua lohe mai no ia ia'u ma kona luakini, Ua hiki aku kuu ulono imua ona, a i kona mau pepeiao.
7 And it shook and it quaked - the earth and [the] foundations of [the] mountains they trembled and they shook back and forth for it burned to him.
Alaila nauwe iho la ka honua a me ka haalulu; Nauweuwe iho la ua kumu o na mauna, Ua hoonauweia mai ia no kona inaina.
8 It went up smoke - in nose his and fire from mouth his it consumed coals they burned from him.
Ua pukoa ae la ka uahi mai loko ae o kona mau puka ihu. Mai loko mai o kona waha ke ahi e ai ana; Ua kukuniia ka lanahu e ia.
9 And he bent down [the] heavens and he came down and thick darkness [was] under feet his.
Ua hoohaahaa iho la oia i na lani, a iho mai la; Malalo hoi o kona mau wawae ka pouli.
10 And he rode on a cherub and he flew and he soared on [the] wings of [the] wind.
Ua holo ia ma ke keruba, ua lele no hoi ia: Oiaio, ua lele oia ma na eheu o ka makani.
11 He made darkness - covering his around him canopy his darkness of waters dark clouds of clouds.
Ua hoolilo oia i ka pouli i wahi mehameha nona: O kona halelowa i hoopuni ia ia, a o na wai pouli a me na a eleele o ka lani.
12 From [the] brightness before him dark clouds his they passed on hail and coals of fire.
No ka olinolino imua ona, ua lele ae la kona mau ao eleele, O na hua hekili, a me na lanahu ahi.
13 And he thundered in the heavens - Yahweh and [the] Most High he gave forth voice his hail and coals of fire.
Ua hoohekili mai la o Iehova ma ka lani; Ua hoopuka mai la ka Mea kiekie loa i kona leo: O na hua hekili, a me na lanahu ahi.
14 And he sent out arrows his and he scattered them and lightning flashes he shot and he routed them.
Ua pehi iho la i kana mau pua, e hoopuehu ia lakou; Ua pana iho la i na uwila, a ua auhee lakou ia ia.
15 And they appeared - channels of water and they were uncovered [the] foundations of [the] world from rebuke your O Yahweh from [the] breath of [the] breath of nostril[s] your.
Alaila, ua ikea na kaha o na wai, Ua hoikeia mai na kumu o ka honua, I kau papa ana mai, e Iehova, i ka nou ana hoi o ka hanu o kou mau puka ihu.
16 He stretched out from a high place he took hold of me he drew me from waters many.
Ua kii mai la oia mai luna mai, ua lawe ae hoi ia'u, Ua unuhi aku la oia ia'u mai loko o na wai nui.
17 He rescued me from enemy my strong and from [those who] hate me for they were [too] strong for me.
Ua hoopakele oia ia'u i ko'u mau enemi ikaika, A me ka poe inaina mai ia'u: No ka mea, ua oi aku ko lakou ikaika i ko'u.
18 They confronted me in [the] day of calamity my and he became Yahweh a support of me.
Ua hoopaa mai lakou ia'u i ko'u la popilikia: Aka, ua lilo mai o Iehova i kokua no'u.
19 And he brought out me to roomy place he rescued me for he delighted in me.
Ua lawe ae la oia ia'u i kahi akea; Ua hoopakele mai no ia ia'u, no kona makemake ana mai ia'u.
20 He has dealt with me Yahweh according to righteousness my according to [the] cleanness of hands my he has repaid to me.
Ua uku mai la o Iehova ia'u e like me ko'u pono; Ua hoopai mai no ia ia'u e like me ka maemae o ko'u mau lima.
21 For I have kept [the] ways of Yahweh and not I have acted wickedly from God my.
No ka mea, ua malama aku au i na aoao o Iehova, Aole hoi au i hele hewa aku mai ko'u Akua aku.
22 For all judgments his [have been] to before me and statutes his not I have turned aside from me.
Mamua hoi o ko'u alo kana mau olelo hoopono a pau; Aole hoi au e pale aku i kana mau kauoha.
23 And I have been blameless with him and I have kept myself from iniquity my.

24 And he has repaid Yahweh to me according to righteousness my according to [the] cleanness of hands my to before eyes his.
Nolaila, i hoopai mai ai o Iehova ia'u e like me ko'u pono. E like me ka maemae o ko'u mau lima imua o kona alo.
25 With a faithful [person] you show yourself faithful with a man blameless you show yourself blameless.
Me ka mea lokomaikai e hoike ana oe ia oe iho he lokomaikai, Me ke kanaka hoopono e hoike aua oe ia oe iho he pono;
26 With [one who] purifies himself you show yourself pure and with a perverse [person] you show yourself twisted.
Me ka mea maemae, e hoike ana oe ia oe iho he maemae; Me ka mea hooolea, e hoike ana oe ia oe iho ho oolea.
27 For you a people afflicted you save and eyes uplifted you bring low.
No ka mea, e hoola ana oe i ka poe i hooluhiia; Aka, e hoohaahaa oe i na maka kiekie.
28 For you you light lamp my Yahweh God my he lightens darkness my.
No ka mea, e kuni no oe i ko'u kukui, E koomalamalama mai no o Iehova o ko'u Akua i ko'u pouli.
29 For by you I run a marauding band and by God my I leap over a wall.
Nou no wau i wahi ae ai i ka poe kaua; No ko'u Akua i lehai aku ai au maluna o ka pa.
30 God [is] blameless way his [the] word of Yahweh [is] refined [is] a shield he for all - those [who] take refuge in him.
A o ke Akua, ua hemolele kona aoao: Ua hoaoia ka olelo a Iehova; He paku oia no na mea a pau i paulele aku ia ia.
31 For who? [is] God except Yahweh and who? [is] a rock except God our.
Owai ke Akua, ina aole o Iehova; Owai ka pohaku, ina aole ko kakou Akua?
32 God [is] the [one who] has girded me strength and he has made blameless way my.
O ke Akua ka i kakoo mai ia'u me ka ikaika; Nana no i hoopololei mai i ko'u hele ana.
33 [he has] made Feet my like does and on high places my he has made stand firm me.
Ua hoolilo no oia i kuu mau wawae e like me na wawae dia: Ua hoonoho oia ia'u ma ko'u mau wahi kiekie.
34 [he has] trained Hands my for battle and it will stretch a bow of bronze arms my.
Ua ao mai no oia i ko'u mau lima e kaua; I haki ai i ko'u lima ke kikoo keleawe.
35 And you have given to me [the] shield of salvation your and right [hand] your it has supported me and humility your you have made great me.
Ua haawi mai oe ia'u i kou paku e ola'i: Ua hookupaa mai ia'u kou lima akau? A o kou ahonui ka i hoomakua mai nei ia'u.
36 You have enlarged step[s] my under me and not they have slipped ankles my.
Ua hoakea oe i ko'u mau kapuwai malalo iho o'u; Aole hoi i pahee kuu mau wawae.
37 I pursued enemies my and I overtook them and not I returned until destroyed them.
Ua alualu aku au i kuu mau enemi a loaa lakou; Ua pau e hoi lakou ia'u mamua o ko'u hoi ana mai.
38 I shattered them and not they were able [surely] to rise they fell under feet my.
Ua pepehi aku au ia lakou. aole e hiki ia lakou ke ku ae iluna; Ua pau lakou i ka hina malalo ae o ko'u mau wawae.
39 And you girded me strength for the battle you made bow down [those who] rose against me under me.
Ua kakoo mai no oe ia'u me ka ikaika i ke kaua; Ua hoohaahaa iho oe malalo iho o'u i ka poe i ku e mai ia'u.
40 And enemies my you gave to me [the] neck and [those who] hated me I destroyed them.
Ua haawi mai no oe ia'u i ka a-i o ko'u mau enemi; I luku aku ai au i ka poe inaina mai ia'u.
41 They cried for help and there not [was] a deliverer to Yahweh and not he answered them.
Ua kabea aku la lakou, aohe hoi mea e ola'i; Ia Iehova hoi, aole no hoi ia i ae mai.
42 And I crushed them like dust on [the] face of [the] wind like [the] mud of [the] streets I poured out them.
Alaila, ua pakuikui au ia lakou a okaoka me he lepo la imua o a makani: Ua kiola aku au ia lakou e like me ka lepo ma ke alanui.
43 You delivered me from [the] strivings of a people you appointed me to [the] head of nations a people [which] not I knew they serve me.
Ua hoopakele oe ia'u i ka paio ana o na kanaka; Ua hoolilo oe ia'u i poo no na lahuikanaka e; E malama mai ana no ia'u ka poe kanaka a'u i ike ole ai.
44 To [the] hearing of an ear they become obedient to me sons of foreignness they cringe to me.
A kui ka lono o'u, e malama koke mai no lakou ia'u; E hooloho mai no ia'u na keiki a kanaka e.
45 Sons of foreignness they wither and they may come trembling from strongholds their.
E mae aku ana no na kanaka e: E makau ana lakou ma ko lakou wahi paa.
46 [is] living Yahweh and [be] blessed rock my and may he be exalted [the] God of salvation my.
Ke ola mau nei no Iehova, e hoomaikaiia ko'u pohaku, E hapaiia'ku ko'u Akua e ola'i.
47 God [is] the [one who] has given vengeance to me and he has subdued peoples under me.
O ke Akua ka i haawi mai na'u e hoopai aku: Oia ka i hoolilo i Kanaka malalo iho o'u:
48 [he has] delivered Me from enemies my also more than [those who] rose against me you have exalted me from a man of violence you have rescued me.
Oia ka i hoopakele ia'u i ko'u mau enemi: Nau no wau i hookiekie ae maluna o ka poe i ku o mai ia'u; Nau no wau i hoola i ke kanaka pepehi wale mai.
49 There-fore - I will give thanks to you among the nations - O Yahweh and to name your I will sing praises.
Nolaila au e hoomaikai aku ai ia oe, e Iehova, mawaena o ko na aina e: E hoolea aku hoi au i kou inoa.
50 ([he is] making great *Q(k)*) [the] victories of King his and [he is] doing covenant loyalty - to anointed his to David and to offspring his until perpetuity.
Nani no kona hoola ana i kana alii; Ua aloha mau mai no ia i kona mea poui, ia Davida, a me kana mamo.
