Psalms 112

1 Praise Yahweh - how blessed! [is] a person fearing Yahweh in commandments his he delights exceedingly.

Halleluja! Heil den man, die Jahweh vreest, En zijn geboden van harte bemint:

2 Mighty in the land it will be offspring his [the] generation of upright [people] it will be blessed.

Zijn kroost zal machtig op aarde zijn, Het geslacht der vromen zal worden gezegend.

3 Wealth and rich[es] [are] in house his and righteousness his [is] enduring for ever.

Welvaart en rijkdom bewonen zijn huis, En zijn gerechtigheid houdt in eeuwigheid stand;

4 It rises in the darkness light for the upright [people] [the] gracious and [the] compassionate and [the] righteous.

De vromen gaat een licht in de duisternis op, Hem, die genadig, barmhartig en rechtvaardig zal zijn.

5 [is] good A person [who] shows favor and [who] lends he maintains affairs his with justice.

Heil den man, die weggeeft en leent, En zijn zaken beheert volgens recht;

6 For for ever not he will be shaken a memory of perpetuity he will become a righteous [person].

Want in eeuwigheid zal de rechtvaardige niet wankelen, En hij blijft in de herinnering voor eeuwig.

7 From new[s] bad not he will be afraid [is] steadfast heart his trusting in Yahweh.

Voor kwade geruchten is hij niet bang; Zijn hart blijft rotsvast op Jahweh vertrouwen,

8 [is] supported Heart his not he will be afraid until that he will look on foes his.

Onverstoorbaar, onbevreesd, Totdat hij op zijn vijanden neerziet.

9 He scatters - he gives to needy [people] righteousness his [is] enduring for ever horn his it will be exalted in honor.

Milddadig deelt hij aan de armen uit: Zijn gerechtigheid houdt in eeuwigheid stand, En zijn hoorn verheft zich in ere.

10 A wicked [person] he will see - and he will be angry teeth his he will gnash and he will melt away [the] desire of wicked [people] it will perish.

De boze ziet het vol afgunst, En knarsetandend gaat hij te gronde: Nooit wordt de wens der bozen vervuld!
