< Psalms 101 >

1 Of David a psalm covenant loyalty and justice I will sing to you O Yahweh I will sing praises.
Yahweh, I will sing to you! I will sing about [your] faithfully loving [us] (OR, my being loyal to you and acting justly/fairly [toward people]).
2 I will give attention - to a way blameless when? will you come to me I will walk about in [the] integrity of heart my in [the] midst of house my.
[I promise that] while I rule people [MTY], I will behave in such a way that no one will be able to criticize me. Yahweh, (when will you come to [help] me?/I need you to come to [help] me.) [RHQ] I will do things that are right.
3 Not I will set - to before eyes my a thing of worthlessness [the] doing of swerving deeds I hate not it will cling to me.
I will not allow stay away from those who do what is evil [SYN]. I hate the deeds of those who ([turn away from/sin against]) you; I will (completely avoid those people/not allow those people to come near me).
4 A heart perverse it will depart from me evil not I will know.
I will not be dishonest, and I will not have anything to do with evil (OR, evil people).
5 ([one who] slanders *Q(k)*) In secrecy - neighbor his him I will destroy [the] haughty of eyes and [the] wide of heart him not I will be able.
I will get rid of anyone who secretly slanders someone else, and I will not (tolerate/allow to be near me) anyone who is proud and arrogant [DOU].
6 Eyes my - [will be] on [the] faithful [people] of [the] earth to dwell with me [one who] walks in a way blameless he he will serve me.
I will approve of [IDM] people in this land who (are loyal to/faithfully [obey]) [God], and I will allow them to (live with/work for) me. I will allow those who behave in such a way that no one can criticize them to (serve me/be my officials).
7 Not he will dwell - in [the] midst of house my [one who] does deceit [one who] speaks lies not he will be established to before eyes my.
I will not allow anyone who deceives others to work in my palace; no one who tells lies will be allowed to continually come to [work for] me.
8 To the mornings I will destroy all [the] wicked [people] of [the] land to cut off from [the] city of Yahweh all [those who] do wickedness.
Every day I will [try to] get rid of all the wicked people in this land; I will [do that by] expelling them from [this] city, which is Yahweh’s city.
