Psalms 1

1 How blessed! [is] the person who - not he walks in [the] counsel of wicked [people] and in [the] way of sinners not he stands and in [the] seat of mockers not he sits.

Salig er den mann som ikke vandrer i ugudeliges råd og ikke står på synderes vei og ikke sitter i spotteres sete,

2 That except [is] in [the] law of Yahweh delight his and in law his he meditates by day and night.

men har sin lyst i Herrens lov og grunder på hans lov dag og natt.

3 And he is like a tree planted at streams of water which fruit its - it gives at appropriate time its and leafage its not it withers and all that he does it succeeds.

Han skal være lik et tre, plantet ved rinnende bekker, som gir sin frukt i sin tid, og hvis blad ikke visner, og alt hvad han gjør, skal han ha lykke til.

4 Not [are] so the wicked [people] that except [they are] like the chaff which it drives about it wind.

Ikke så de ugudelige, men de er lik agner, som spredes av vinden.

5 There-fore - not they will stand wicked [people] in the judgment and sinners in [the] congregation of righteous [people].

Derfor skal ugudelige ikke bli stående i dommen, og syndere ikke i de rettferdiges menighet.

6 For [is] knowing Yahweh [the] way of righteous [people] and [the] way of wicked [people] it will perish.

For Herren kjenner de rettferdiges vei, men de ugudeliges vei går til grunne.
