< Proverbs 7 >

1 O son my keep words my and commandments my you will treasure with you.
E taku tama, puritia aku kupu, huna aku whakahau ki roto ki a koe.
2 Keep commandments my and live and instruction my like [the] pupil of eyes your.
Puritia aku whakahau, a ka ora; taku ture, ano ko te whatupango o tou kanohi.
3 Bind them on fingers your write them on [the] tablet of heart your.
Herea ki ou maihao; tuhituhia, ko tou ngakau ano hei papa.
4 Say to wisdom [are] sister my you and a relative to discernment you will call.
5 To keep you from a woman strange from a foreign [woman] [who] words her she makes smooth.
Kia ai enei hei tiaki i a koe kei he i te wahine ke, i te wahine ke, he korero whakapati nei ana.
6 For at [the] window of house my through lattice my I looked down.
I titiro atu hoki ahau i te matapihi o toku whare i roto i toku whakakahokaho;
7 And I saw among the naive people I observed among the sons a youth lacking of heart.
A i matakitaki ahau i roto i nga kuware, i kite i roto i nga taitama, i tetahi tamaiti kahore rawa he whakaaro,
8 [who] was passing by In the street beside corner her and [the] direction of house her he strode.
E haere ana i te ara i te wahi tata e piko atu ai ki a ia, a haere ana ia i te ara ki tona whare.
9 At twilight in [the] evening of [the] day in [the] middle of [the] night and darkness.
10 And there! a woman to meet him [the] garment of a prostitute and guarded of heart.
Na, kua tutaki tetahi wahine ki a ia, he kakahu puremu tona, he ngakau hianga.
11 [is] boisterous She and rebellious in house her not they stay feet her.
He mangai koroki tona, he tohetohe; ko ona waewae, kahore e tau ki tona whare:
12 A time - in the street a time in the open places and beside every corner she lies in wait.
Inaianei kei nga ara ia, inamata kei nga waharoa, e tauwhanga ana i nga kokinga katoa.
13 And she takes hold on him and she kisses him she has made firm face her and she said to him.
Koia i hopukia ai ia e ia, kei te kihi i a ia, a ka mea atu ki a ia, me te whakatoi ano i tona mata,
14 Sacrifices of peace offerings [are] on me this day I have paid vows my.
He patunga mo te pai kei ahau; no tenei ra nei ahau i whakamana ai i aku kupu taurangi;
15 There-fore I have come out to meet you to seek face your and I have found you.
Koia ahau i haere mai ai ki te whakatau i a koe, ki te ata rapu i tou mata, a ka kitea nei koe e ahau.
16 Coverings I have spread couch my colored fabrics linen of Egypt.
17 I have sprinkled bed my myrrh aloes and cinnamon.
18 Come! let us take our fill of love until the morning let us delight ourselves with love.
19 For not the husband [is] in house his he has gone on a journey from a distance.
Kahore hoki taku tane i te whare: kua riro ia, he haere tawhiti:
20 [the] bag of Money he has taken in hand his to [the] day of the full moon he will come house his.
I maua atu e ia he putea moni i tona ringa; ka hoki mai ano ia i te kowhititanga o te marama.
21 She turns him with [the] greatness of persuasiveness her with [the] seductiveness of lips her she impels him.
He maha no ana korero whakawai, riro ana ia i a ia ki tana; na te whakapati a ona ngutu ka kumea atu ia e ia.
22 [he is] walking Behind her suddenly like an ox [which] to [the] slaughter it goes and like an anklet to [the] chastening of a fool.
Haere tonu ia i muri i a ia, ano he kau e haere ana kia patua, he kuware ranei e haere ana ki nga rakau here waewae e whiua ai te he;
23 Until it will pierce an arrow liver his as hurries a bird into a trap and not he knows that [is] for life his it.
24 And therefore O children listen to me and be attentive to [the] words of mouth my.
No reira, e aku tamariki, whakarongo ki ahau, maharatia nga kupu a toku mangai.
25 May not it turn aside to ways her heart your may not it go astray in pathways her.
Kei peau ke tou ngakau ki ona ara, kei kotiti ke ki ona huarahi.
26 For many slain [ones] she has made fall and [are] numerous all killed [men] her.
He tokomaha hoki nga tangata i tu, i hinga i a ia, ae ra, he ope nui rawa tana i patu ai.
27 [is] [the] ways of Sheol house her [which] go down to [the] chambers of death. (Sheol h7585)
(Sheol h7585)
