< Proverbs 7 >

1 O son my keep words my and commandments my you will treasure with you.
Mũrũ wakwa, tũũra ũrũmĩtie ciugo ciakwa, na wĩigĩre maathani makwa thĩinĩ waku.
2 Keep commandments my and live and instruction my like [the] pupil of eyes your.
Rũmia maathani makwa, na nĩũgatũũra muoyo; gitagĩra morutani makwa o ta kĩũma kĩa riitho rĩaku.
3 Bind them on fingers your write them on [the] tablet of heart your.
Mohagĩrĩre ciara-inĩ ciaku; ũmaandĩke kĩhengere-inĩ kĩa ngoro yaku.
4 Say to wisdom [are] sister my you and a relative to discernment you will call.
Ĩra ũũgĩ atĩrĩ, “Wee nĩwe mwarĩ wa maitũ,” naguo ũtaũku ũwĩtage mũndũ wa nyũmba yanyu;
5 To keep you from a woman strange from a foreign [woman] [who] words her she makes smooth.
nĩcirĩkweheragia harĩ mũndũ-wa-nja ũcio mũtharia, o na kuuma kũrĩ mũtumia ũcio ũtarĩ mwĩhokeku, hamwe na ciugo ciake cia kũheenanĩrĩria.
6 For at [the] window of house my through lattice my I looked down.
Ndĩ ndirica-inĩ ya nyũmba yakwa-rĩ, nĩndacũthĩrĩirie na nja kamwanya-inĩ,
7 And I saw among the naive people I observed among the sons a youth lacking of heart.
ngĩona kĩmwana gatagatĩ ka arĩa matarĩ oogĩ, na ngĩkũũrana gatagatĩ ka aanake, mũndũ mwĩthĩ ũtaarĩ na ũũgĩ wa gũkũũrana maũndũ.
8 [who] was passing by In the street beside corner her and [the] direction of house her he strode.
Aikũrũkaga na njĩra ĩrĩa yarĩ hakuhĩ na koine ya kwa mũndũ-wa-nja ũcio, agĩthiĩ na njĩra ĩyo yerekeire na gwake mũciĩ,
9 At twilight in [the] evening of [the] day in [the] middle of [the] night and darkness.
na kwarĩ na mairia o kahwaĩ-inĩ gũgĩtukatuka, gũkĩambĩrĩria kũgĩa nduma ya ũtukũ.
10 And there! a woman to meet him [the] garment of a prostitute and guarded of heart.
Na rĩrĩ, hagĩũka mũndũ-wa-nja kũmũtũnga, wehumbĩte nguo ta mũmaraya, arĩ na wara ngoro-inĩ.
11 [is] boisterous She and rebellious in house her not they stay feet her.
(Nĩ mũnegeni na mũngʼathia, na magũrũ make matikiragĩrĩria mũciĩ;
12 A time - in the street a time in the open places and beside every corner she lies in wait.
rĩmwe arĩ njĩra-inĩ, na rĩrĩa rĩngĩ arĩ ihaaro-inĩ, ehithagĩre andũ koine-inĩ ciothe cia njĩra.)
13 And she takes hold on him and she kisses him she has made firm face her and she said to him.
Nake akĩnyiita mwanake ũcio, akĩmũmumunya, na akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ ategũconoka,
14 Sacrifices of peace offerings [are] on me this day I have paid vows my.
“Ndĩ na maruta ma ngwatanĩro mũciĩ, tondũ ũmũthĩ nĩhingirie mĩĩhĩtwa yakwa.
15 There-fore I have come out to meet you to seek face your and I have found you.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ndoimagara, ndooka gũgũtũnga; ngũgũcarĩtie mũno, na rĩu nĩndakuona!
16 Coverings I have spread couch my colored fabrics linen of Egypt.
Nĩnjarĩte ũrĩrĩ wakwa na macuka ma gatani ma marangi kuuma Misiri.
17 I have sprinkled bed my myrrh aloes and cinnamon.
Ũrĩrĩ ũcio wakwa nĩndĩũitĩrĩirie indo nungi wega ta manemane, na thubiri, o na mũndarathini.
18 Come! let us take our fill of love until the morning let us delight ourselves with love.
Ũka twĩhũũnie wendo nginya rũciinĩ; reke twĩkenie na wendo!
19 For not the husband [is] in house his he has gone on a journey from a distance.
Mũthuuri wakwa ndarĩ mũciĩ; nĩathiĩte rũgendo rũraihu.
20 [the] bag of Money he has taken in hand his to [the] day of the full moon he will come house his.
Nĩathiire na mũhuko wake ũiyũrĩte mbeeca, na akainũka mũciĩ o rĩrĩa mweri ũkaiganana.”
21 She turns him with [the] greatness of persuasiveness her with [the] seductiveness of lips her she impels him.
Agĩkĩmũheenereria na ciugo, akĩmũhĩtithia; agĩkĩmuuha na mĩario yake mĩnyoroku.
22 [he is] walking Behind her suddenly like an ox [which] to [the] slaughter it goes and like an anklet to [the] chastening of a fool.
O rĩmwe akĩmũrũmĩrĩra ta ndegwa ĩgĩthiĩ gũthĩnjwo, kana ta thwariga ĩgĩtoonya kĩana-inĩ kĩa mũtego,
23 Until it will pierce an arrow liver his as hurries a bird into a trap and not he knows that [is] for life his it.
nginya akaaya gũtheecwo ini nĩ mĩguĩ, akahaana ta nyoni ĩguthũkĩte mũtego-inĩ, ĩtekũmenya o na hanini atĩ ũndũ ũcio no ũmĩrute muoyo.
24 And therefore O children listen to me and be attentive to [the] words of mouth my.
Atĩrĩrĩ, ariũ akwa, ta thikĩrĩriai; tegai matũ mũigue ũrĩa ngũmwĩra.
25 May not it turn aside to ways her heart your may not it go astray in pathways her.
Mũtikanareke ngoro cianyu ĩrũmĩrĩre mĩthiĩre yake, kana mũingĩre njĩra-inĩ ciake.
26 For many slain [ones] she has made fall and [are] numerous all killed [men] her.
Nĩ andũ aingĩ arĩkĩtie kũrũnda; arĩa oragĩte nĩ kĩrĩndĩ kĩingĩ mũno.
27 [is] [the] ways of Sheol house her [which] go down to [the] chambers of death. (Sheol h7585)
Nyũmba yake nĩ njĩra njariĩ ya gũthiĩ mbĩrĩra, nayo yerekagĩria andũ nyũmba-inĩ cia gĩkuũ. (Sheol h7585)
