Proverbs 6
1 O son my if you have stood surety for fellow-citizen your you have struck for the stranger palms your.
Hev du borga for grannen din, son min, hev du handtekest for ein annan,
2 You have been ensnared by [the] words of mouth your you have been caught by [the] words of mouth your.
er du bunden ved ord av din munn, er du fanga i ord av din munn,
3 Do this then - O son my and deliver yourself for you have come in [the] palm of neighbor your go humble yourself and importune neighbor your.
gjer då soleis, son min, og berga deg, sidan du er komen i handi på grannen: Gakk og kasta deg ned for grannen, gjer ågang på han,
4 May not you give sleep to eyes your and slumber to eyelids your.
unn ikkje dine augo svevn, eller augneloki ein blund.
5 Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a hand and like a bird from [the] hand of a fowler.
Frels deg som ei gasella or handi hans, som ein fugl or fangarvald!
6 Go to an ant O sluggard consider ways its and become wise.
Gakk til mauren, du leting, sjå hans ferd og vert vis!
7 Which not [belongs] to it [is] commander of icer and ruler.
Han hev ingen hovding eller fut eller herre,
8 It prepares in the summer food its it gathers at the harvest food its.
men lagar um sumaren maten sin til og hev um hausten sanka si føda.
9 Until when? O sluggard - will you lie down when? will you rise from sleep your.
Kor lenge vil du liggja, du leting? Når ris du upp or di svevn?
10 A little of sleep a little of slumber a little of - folding of hands to rest.
Endå litt svevn, endå litt blunding, endå litt kvild med henderne i kross,
11 And it will come like a traveler poverty your and lack your like a man of shield.
so kjem armodi di som ein farande fant og naudi som skjoldvæpna mann.
12 A person of worthlessness a person of wickedness [is] walking crookedness of mouth.
Ugagns menneskje, illgjerningsmann, er den som gjeng og rengjer munnen,
13 [he is] winking (With eyes his *Q(K)*) [he is] scraping (with feet his *Q(K)*) [he is] pointing with fingers his.
som blinkar med augo, skrapar med foten, peikar med fingrarne,
14 Perverse things - [are] in heart his [he is] devising evil at every time (contentions *Q(K)*) he sends out.
med meinspel i hjarta, alltid emnar på ilt, og yppar trættor.
15 There-fore suddenly it will come disaster his an instant he will be broken and there not [will be] healing.
Difor kjem hans undergang brått, snøgt vert han ulækjande krasa.
16 Six [things] those he hates Yahweh and [are] seven ([the] disgusting thing of *Q(K)*) self his.
Det er seks ting som Herrens hatar, og sju er ei gru for hans sjæl:
17 Eyes haughty a tongue of falsehood and hands [which] shed blood innocent.
Storlåtne augo, ljugartunga, hender som renner ut skuldlaust blod,
18 A heart [which] devises plans of wickedness feet [which] hurry to run to evil.
hjarta som tenkjer upp vonde råder, føter som renner rapt til vondt,
19 [who] he breathes out Lies a witness of falsehood and [one who] spreads contentions between brothers.
den som lyg og vitnar falskt, den som yppar strid millom brør.
20 Keep O son my [the] commandment of father your and may not you forsake [the] instruction of mother your.
Son min, tak vare på bodet åt far din, og kasta’kje frå deg læra åt mor di!
21 Bind them on heart your continually tie them on necks your.
Bitt deim alltid til hjarta ditt, knyt deim um halsen din!
22 When walking about you - it will guide you when lying down you it will watch over you and you will awake it it will speak to you.
Når du gjeng, skal læra leida deg; når du ligg, skal ho vaka yver deg; når du vaknar, skal ho tala til deg.
23 For [is] a lamp [the] commandment and [the] instruction [is] a light and [are] a way of life rebukes of discipline.
For bodet er ei lykt og lovi er ljos, og påminning med tukt er livsens veg.
24 To keep you from a woman of evil from smoothness of tongue a foreign [woman].
Dei kann vara deg frå den vonde kvinna, frå den sleipe framande tunga.
25 May not you desire beauty her in heart your and may not she capture you with eyelids her.
Ikkje trå i hjarta etter vænleiken hennar, og lat ho’kje fanga deg med augneloki sine!
26 For [the] price a woman a prostitute to a round loaf of bread and [the] wife of a man a life precious she hunts.
For skjøkja armar ut til siste brødbit, og gifte kona jagtar etter dyre livet.
27 ¿ Will he snatch up a man fire in bosom his and garments his not will they be burned?
Kann nokon taka eld i fanget og ikkje brenna klædi sine?
28 Or? will he walk? a man on burning coals and feet his not will they be scorched.
Ell’ kann ein gå på gløder og ikkje svida føterne?
29 [is] thus The [one who] goes into [the] wife of neighbor his not he will go unpunished every [one who] touches her.
So vert det med den som gjeng inn til kona åt grannen; ingen kjem urefst frå det, um han rører henne.
30 Not people despise the thief if he will steal to fill appetite his for he will be hungry.
Vert ikkje tjuven vanvyrd, um han stel og vil stilla sin svolt?
31 And he will be found out he will make restitution sevenfold all [the] wealth of house his he will give.
Vert han teken, lyt han sjufaldt betala, alt han eig i sitt hus, lyt han gjeva.
32 [one who] commits adultery A woman [is] lacking of heart [one who] destroys own self his he he will do it.
Den som driv hor med ei kona, er vitlaus, den som vil tyna seg sjølv, gjer slikt.
33 A wound and shame he will find and reproach his not it will be wiped away.
Hogg og skjemsla fær han, og ingen utslettar hans skam.
34 For jealousy [is the] rage of a man and not he will have compassion on a day of vengeance.
For mannen harmast i åbryskap, på hemnsdagen sparer han ikkje.
35 Not he will lift up [the] face of any ransom and not he will be willing for you will make great a bribe.
Han bryr seg ikkje um nokor bot og tek’kje imot um du gjev han mykje.
