Proverbs 5
1 O son my to wisdom my be attentive! to understanding my incline ear your.
Mærk dig, min Søn, min Visdom, bøj til min Indsigt dit Øre,
2 To preserve discretion and knowledge lips your they will observe.
at Kløgt maa vaage øver dig, Læbernes Kundskab vare paa dig.

Thi af Honning drypper den fremmedes Læber, glattere end Olie er hendes Gane;
4 And end her [is] bitter like wormwood sharp like a sword of mouths.
men til sidst er hun besk som Malurt, hvas som tveægget Sværd;
hendes Fødder styrer nedad mod Døden, til Dødsriget stunder hendes Fjed; (Sheol h7585)

hun følger ej Livets Vej, hendes Spor er bugtet, hun ved det ikke.

at ikke dit Gods skal mætte fremmede, din Vinding ende i Andenmands Hus,
11 And you will groan at end your when wastes away flesh your and body your.
saa du gribes af Anger til sidst, naar dit Kød og Huld svinder hen,
12 And you will say how! I hated discipline and rebuke it spurned heart my.
og du siger: »Ak, at jeg hadede Tugt, at mit Hjerte lod haant om Revselse,

saa jeg ikke lød mine Læreres Røst, ej bøjed mit Øre til dem, som lærte mig!

Drik Vand af din egen Cisterne og rindende Vand af din Brønd;

lad ej dine Kilder flyde paa Gaden, ej dine Bække paa Torvene!

Dig skal de tilhøre, dig alene, ingen fremmed ved Siden af dig!
18 May it be spring your blessed and rejoice from [the] wife of youth your.
Velsignet være dit Væld, og glæd dig ved din Ungdoms Hustru,
19 A doe of loves and a goat of grace breasts her may they satisfy you at every time by love her may you be intoxicated continually.
den elskelige Hind, den yndige Gazel; hendes Elskov fryde dig stedse, berus dig altid i hendes Kærlighed!

Hvi beruser du dig, min Søn, i en fremmed og tager en andens Hustru i Favn?
