Proverbs 23
1 If you will sit down to eat with a ruler carefully you will consider [that] which [is] before you.
Naar du sidder til Bords hos en Hersker, da agt vel paa, hvad der staar for dit Ansigt,
2 And you will put a knife in throat your if [are] a master of appetite you.
og at du sætter en Kniv paa din Strube, hvis du har Begærlighed.
3 May not (you crave *Q(K)*) for dainties his and it [is] food of lies.
Fat ikke Lyst til hans Livretter, da det er bedragerisk Mad.
4 May not you labor to gain riches from understanding your cease.
Anstreng dig ikke for at blive rig, brug ej din Forstand dertil!
5 (¿ Do you cause to fly *Q(K)*) eyes your on it and there not [is] it for certainly it makes for itself wings like an eagle (it flies away *Q(K)*) the heavens.
Skulde du lade dine Øjne flyve efter det, da det ikke er der? thi det skal gøre sig Vinger som en Ørn, der flyver imod Himmelen.
6 May not you eat [the] food of a [person] evil of eye and may not (you crave *Q(K)*) for dainties his.
Æd ikke Brød hos den, der har et ondt Øje, og hav ikke Lyst til hans Livretter!
7 For - as he calculates in self his [is] so he eat and drink he says to you and heart his not [is] with you.
Thi ligesom han tænker i sit Hjerte, saa er han; han siger til dig: Æd og drik; men hans Hjerte er ikke med dig.
8 Morsel your [which] you have eaten you will vomit up it and you will spoil words your pleasant.
Din Mundfuld, som du har spist, skal du udspy og have spildt dine liflige Ord.
9 In [the] ears of a fool may not you speak for he will despise [the] insight of words your.
Tal ikke for Daarens Øren; thi han foragter din Tales Klogskab.
10 May not you displace a boundary of antiquity and in [the] fields of fatherless ones may not you go.
Flyt ikke det gamle Landemærke, og kom ikke paa de faderløses Agre!
11 For redeemer their [is] strong he he will conduct case their with you.
Thi deres Løser er stærk; han skal udføre deres Sag imod dig.
12 Bring! to discipline heart your and ears your to words of knowledge.
Vend dit Hjerte til Undervisning og dine Øren til Kundskabs Ord!
13 May not you withhold from a youth discipline for you will strike him with the rod not he will die.
Vægre dig ikke ved at tugte den unge; thi slaar du ham med Riset, dør han ikke deraf.
Du skal slaa ham med Riset og fri hans Sjæl fra Dødsriget. (Sheol h7585)
15 O son my if it is wise heart your it will rejoice heart my also I.
Min Søn! dersom dit Hjerte er viist, skal ogsaa mit Hjerte glæde sig,
16 So they may rejoice kidneys my when speak lips your uprightness.
og mine Nyrer skulle fryde sig, naar dine Læber tale Retvished.
17 May not it be jealous heart of your sinners that except in [the] fear of Yahweh all the day.
Lad dit Hjerte ikke være misundeligt imod Syndere, men bliv hver Dag i Herrens Frygt!
18 That except there [is] a future and hope your not it will be cut off.
Thi kommer der en Eftertid, saa vil din Forhaabning ikke tilintetgøres.
19 Listen O you son my and be wise and guide in the way heart your.
Hør du, min Søn! og bliv viis, og lad dit Hjerte gaa lige frem ad Vejen.
20 May not you be among drunkards of wine among gluttons of meat themselves.
Vær ikke iblandt Vindrankere, iblandt dem, som fraadse i Kød.
21 For a drunkard and a glutton he will become impoverished and rags it will clothe [them] drowsiness.
Thi en Dranker og Fraadser skal blive fattig; og Søvn klæder en i Pjalter.
22 Listen to father your who he begot you and may not you despise if she is old mother your.
Adlyd din Fader, som avlede dig, og foragt ikke din Moder, naar hun bliver gammel.
23 Truth buy and may not you sell [it] wisdom and discipline and understanding.
Køb Sandhed, og sælg den ej, saa og Visdom, Lærdom og Forstand.
24 (Certainly he rejoices *Q(k)*) [the] father of a righteous [son] (and [one who] begets *Q(K)*) a wise [son] (he rejoices *Q(K)*) in him.
Den retfærdiges Fader skal fryde sig; den, som avler en viis, skal glædes ved ham.
25 May he rejoice father your and mother your and may she rejoice [the] [one who] bore you.
Lad din Fader og din Moder glædes, og lad hende, som fødte dig, fryde sig!
26 Give! O son my heart your to me and eyes your ways my (let them observe. *Q(K)*)
Min Søn! giv mig dit Hjerte, og lad dine Øjne have Behag i mine Veje.
27 For [is] a pit deep a prostitute and [is] a well narrow a foreign [woman].
Thi Skøgen er en dyb Grav og den fremmede Kvinde en snæver Brønd.
28 Also she like a robber she lies in wait and treacherous [people] among humankind she increases.
Hun ligger paa Lur som efter Rov og formerer Tallet paa de troløse iblandt Menneskene.
29 [belongs] to Whom? woe [belongs] to whom? woe! [belong] to whom? (contentions *Q(K)*) [belongs] to whom? complaint [belong] to whom? wounds without cause [belongs] to whom? dullness of eyes.
Hvo har Ak? hvo har Ve? hvo har Trætter? hvo har Bekymring? hvo har Saar uden Skel? hvo har røde Øjne?
30 To [those who] delay over the wine to [those who] go to examine mixed wine.
De, som sidde længe ved Vinen, de, som gaa ind at prøve den stærke Drik.
31 May not you see wine for it will be red if it will give (in the cup *Q(K)*) eye its it will go with smoothness.
Se ikke til Vinen, hvor den er rød, hvor den perler i Bægeret; glat gaar den ned.
32 End its like a snake it will bite and like a viper it will sting.
Til sidst skal den bide som en Slange og stikke som en Basilisk;
33 Eyes your they will see strange [things] and heart your it will speak perverse things.
dine Øjne ville se efter fremmede Kvinder, og dit Hjerte vil tale forvendte Ting;
34 And you will be like [one who] lies down in [the] heart of [the] sea and like [one who] lies down at [the] top of a mast.
og du vil blive som den, der sover midt paa Havet, og som den, der sover paa Toppen af Masten:
35 They struck me not I am sick they beat me not I know when? will I awake I will repeat I will seek it again.
„De sloge mig, det smertede mig ikke; de stødte mig, jeg fornam det ikke; naar skal jeg opvaagne? jeg vil søge den endnu engang.”
