< Proverbs 23 >
1 If you will sit down to eat with a ruler carefully you will consider [that] which [is] before you.
Ngati ukhala pansi kuti udye pamodzi ndi wolamulira, uyangʼane bwino zimene zili pamaso pako,
2 And you will put a knife in throat your if [are] a master of appetite you.
ngati ndiwe munthu wadyera udziletse kuti usaonetse dyera lakolo.
3 May not (you crave *Q(K)*) for dainties his and it [is] food of lies.
Usasirire zakudya zake, pakuti zimenezo ndi zakudya zachinyengo.
4 May not you labor to gain riches from understanding your cease.
Usadzitopetse wekha ndi kufuna chuma, ukhale ndi nzeru ya kudziretsa.
5 (¿ Do you cause to fly *Q(K)*) eyes your on it and there not [is] it for certainly it makes for itself wings like an eagle (it flies away *Q(K)*) the heavens.
Ukangoti wachipeza chumacho uwona posachedwa kuti palibepo. Chumacho chimachita ngati chamera mapiko mwadzidzidzi ndi kuwuluka kunka kumwamba ngati chiwombankhanga.
6 May not you eat [the] food of a [person] evil of eye and may not (you crave *Q(K)*) for dainties his.
Usadye chakudya cha munthu waumbombo, usalakalake zakudya zake zokoma;
7 For - as he calculates in self his [is] so he eat and drink he says to you and heart his not [is] with you.
paja iye ndi munthu amene nthawi zonse amaganizira za mtengo wake ngakhale amati kwa iwe, “Idya ndi kumwa,” koma sakondweretsedwa nawe.
8 Morsel your [which] you have eaten you will vomit up it and you will spoil words your pleasant.
Udzasanza zimene wadyazo ndipo mawu ako woyamikira adzapita pachabe.
9 In [the] ears of a fool may not you speak for he will despise [the] insight of words your.
Usayankhule munthu wopusa akumva, pakuti adzanyoza mawu ako anzeru.
10 May not you displace a boundary of antiquity and in [the] fields of fatherless ones may not you go.
Usasunthe mwala wa mʼmalire akalekale kapena kulowerera mʼminda ya ana amasiye,
11 For redeemer their [is] strong he he will conduct case their with you.
paja Mpulumutsi wawo ndi wamphamvu; iye adzawateteza pa milandu yawo kutsutsana nawe.
12 Bring! to discipline heart your and ears your to words of knowledge.
Mtima wako uzikhala pa malangizo ndipo makutu ako azimvetsera mawu a chidziwitso.
13 May not you withhold from a youth discipline for you will strike him with the rod not he will die.
Usaleke kumulangiza mwana; ngati umulanga ndi chikwapu sadzafa.
14 You with the rod you will strike him and life his from Sheol you will deliver. (Sheol )
Ukamukwapula ndi tsatsa udzapulumutsa moyo wake. (Sheol )
15 O son my if it is wise heart your it will rejoice heart my also I.
Mwana wanga, ngati mtima wako ukhala wanzeru, inenso mtima wanga udzakondwera.
16 So they may rejoice kidneys my when speak lips your uprightness.
Mtima wanga udzakondwera pamene ndidzakumva ukuyankhula zolungama.
17 May not it be jealous heart of your sinners that except in [the] fear of Yahweh all the day.
Mtima wako usachite nsanje ndi anthu ochimwa, koma uziopa Yehova tsiku ndi tsiku.
18 That except there [is] a future and hope your not it will be cut off.
Ndithu za mʼtsogolo zilipo ndipo chiyembekezo chakocho sichidzalephereka.
19 Listen O you son my and be wise and guide in the way heart your.
Tamvera mwana wanga, ndipo ukhale wanzeru, mtima wako uwuyendetse mʼnjira yabwino.
20 May not you be among drunkards of wine among gluttons of meat themselves.
Usakhale pakati pa anthu amene amaledzera kapena pakati pa anthu amene amadya nyama mwadyera.
21 For a drunkard and a glutton he will become impoverished and rags it will clothe [them] drowsiness.
Paja anthu oledzera ndi adyera amadzakhala amphawi ndipo aulesi adzavala sanza.
22 Listen to father your who he begot you and may not you despise if she is old mother your.
Mvera abambo ako amene anakubala, usanyoze amayi ako pamene akalamba.
23 Truth buy and may not you sell [it] wisdom and discipline and understanding.
Gula choonadi ndipo usachigulitse; ugulenso nzeru, mwambo ndiponso kumvetsa zinthu bwino.
24 (Certainly he rejoices *Q(k)*) [the] father of a righteous [son] (and [one who] begets *Q(K)*) a wise [son] (he rejoices *Q(K)*) in him.
Abambo a munthu wolungama ali ndi chimwemwe chachikulu; Wobala mwana wanzeru adzakondwera naye.
25 May he rejoice father your and mother your and may she rejoice [the] [one who] bore you.
Abambo ndi amayi ako asangalale; amene anakubereka akondwere!
26 Give! O son my heart your to me and eyes your ways my (let them observe. *Q(K)*)
Mwana wanga, undikhulupirire ndipo maso ako apenyetsetse njira zanga.
27 For [is] a pit deep a prostitute and [is] a well narrow a foreign [woman].
Paja mkazi wachiwerewere ali ngati dzenje lozama; ndipo mkazi woyendayenda ali ngati chitsime chopapatiza.
28 Also she like a robber she lies in wait and treacherous [people] among humankind she increases.
Amabisala ngati mbala yachifwamba, ndipo amuna amakhala osakhulupirika chifukwa cha iyeyu.
29 [belongs] to Whom? woe [belongs] to whom? woe! [belong] to whom? (contentions *Q(K)*) [belongs] to whom? complaint [belong] to whom? wounds without cause [belongs] to whom? dullness of eyes.
Ndani ali ndi tsoka? Ndani ali ndi chisoni? Ndani ali pa mkangano? Ndani ali ndi madandawulo? Ndani ali ndi zipsera zosadziwika uko zachokera? Ndani ali ndi maso ofiira?
30 To [those who] delay over the wine to [those who] go to examine mixed wine.
Ndi amene amakhalitsa pa mowa, amene amapita nalawa vinyo osakanizidwa.
31 May not you see wine for it will be red if it will give (in the cup *Q(K)*) eye its it will go with smoothness.
Usatengeke mtima ndi kufiira kwa vinyo, pamene akuwira mʼchikho pamene akumweka bwino!
32 End its like a snake it will bite and like a viper it will sting.
Potsiriza pake amaluma ngati njoka, ndipo amajompha ngati mphiri.
33 Eyes your they will see strange [things] and heart your it will speak perverse things.
Maso ako adzaona zinthu zachilendo ndipo maganizo ndi mawu ako adzakhala osokonekera.
34 And you will be like [one who] lies down in [the] heart of [the] sea and like [one who] lies down at [the] top of a mast.
Udzakhala ngati munthu amene ali gone pakati pa nyanja, kapena ngati munthu wogona pa msonga ya mlongoti ya ngalawa.
35 They struck me not I am sick they beat me not I know when? will I awake I will repeat I will seek it again.
Iwe udzanena kuti, “Anandimenya, koma sindinapwetekedwe! Andimenya koma sindinamve kanthu! Kodi ndidzuka nthawi yanji? Ndiye ndifunefunenso vinyo wina.”
