< Proverbs 18 >

1 Desire he seeks [one who] separates himself on all sound wisdom he bursts out.
Onye ihe mmadụ na-adịghị amasị na-agbaso naanị ọchịchọ nke ya onwe ya, na-alụsokwa ezi nzube niile ọzọ ọgụ.
2 Not he delights a fool in understanding that except in revealing itself heart his.
Nghọta adịghị atọ onye nzuzu ụtọ. Naanị ihe ọ maara bụ ikwu uche ya.
3 When comes a wicked [person] it comes also contempt and with shame reproach.
Mgbe onye ajọ omume na-abata, ka nleda anya na-abata, otu a kwa nkọcha na-eweta ihere.
4 [are] waters Deep [the] words of [the] mouth of a person a wadi flowing a fountain of wisdom.
Okwu ọnụ niile bụ mmiri dị omimi, ma amamihe dị ka mmiri iyi na-asọ asọ.
5 To lift up [the] face of a wicked [person] not [is] good to turn aside a righteous [person] in judgment.
Ọ dịghị mma ime ka ikpe gara onye mere ihe ọjọọ, si otu a gbochie onye aka ya dị ọcha inweta ikpe ziri ezi.
6 [the] lips of A fool they go in strife and mouth his for blows it calls.
Egbugbere ọnụ ndị nzuzu na-ebutere ha esemokwu, ọnụ ha na-ebutere ha ihe otiti.
7 [the] mouth of A fool [is] ruin of him and lips his [are] [the] snare of life his.
Ọnụ onye nzuzu na-etinye ya na nsogbu, egbugbere ọnụ ya bụ ọnya nye mkpụrụobi ya.
8 [the] words of A slanderer [are] like delicacies and they they go down [the] chambers of [the] belly.
Okwu niile nke onye na-agba asịrị na-ekwu dịka iberibe nri nʼatọ ezi ụtọ, ha na-agbadakwa nʼime ime ala afọ.
9 Also [one who] shows himself idle in work his [is] a brother he of a master of destruction.
Onye dị umengwụ nʼọrụ ya bụ nwanne nke onye mbibi.
10 [is] a tower of Strength [the] name of Yahweh in it he runs a righteous [person] and he is set on high.
Aha Onyenwe anyị bụ ụlọ elu e wusiri ike, ndị ezi omume na-agbaba nʼime ya izere ndụ.
11 [the] wealth of A rich [person] [is] [the] town of strength his and like a wall high in own imagination his.
Akụ ndị ọgaranya bụrụ ha obodo e wusiri ike, ọ bụkwa mgbidi dị elu nke a na-apụghị ịmafe nʼechiche ha.
12 Before destruction it is haughty [the] heart of a person and [is] before honor humility.
Tupu mmadụ adaa obi ya na-ejupụta na nganga, ma inwe obi umeala na-eweta nsọpụrụ.
13 [one who] brings back A word before he listens [is] folly it of him and ignominy.
Inye ọsịsa okwu tupu mmadụ ege ntị bụ enweghị uche na ihe ihere.
14 [the] spirit of A person it will endure sickness his and a spirit stricken who? will he bear it.
Ọ bụ mmụọ mmadụ na-akwado ya nʼoge nrịa nrịa, ma mmụọ e tipịara etipịa, onye pụrụ ibuli ya?
15 A heart discerning it acquires knowledge and [the] ear of wise [people] it seeks knowledge.
Obi onye nwere nghọta na-enweta ihe ọmụma, nʼihi na ntị onye maara ihe na-achọpụta ya.
16 [the] gift of A person it makes space for him and before great [people] it leads him.
Onyinye mmadụ na-akwara ya ụzọ sara mbara, ọ na-edubakwa ya nʼihu ndị dị elu.
17 [is] righteous The first in case his (and he will come *Q(K)*) neighbor his and he will examine him.
Nʼikpe onye buru ụzọ kwuo ihe na-ese na-adị ka onye ikpe gaara, tutu ruo mgbe mmadụ bịara bido ịjụ ya ajụjụ.
18 Contentions it puts an end to the lot and between mighty [people] it separates.
Ife nza na-akwụsị esemokwu na ndọrọndọrọ dị nʼetiti mmadụ abụọ ndị olu ha na-ala elu.
19 A brother transgressed [is] more than a town of strength (and contentions *Q(K)*) [are] like [the] bar of a fortress.
Ọ dị mfe ịlụgbụ obodo karịa ime ka obi nwanne e mehiere tụgharịa. Iwe ya na-adị ike dịka ọnụ ụzọ e jiri igodo tụchie.
20 From [the] fruit of [the] mouth of a person it is satisfied belly his [the] produce of lips his he is satisfied.
Site na mkpụrụ nke okwu ọnụ mmadụ mịpụtara ka afọ ga-eji ju ya. Sitekwa nʼihe owuwe ubi nke egbugbere ọnụ ha ka ha ga-eji rijuo afọ.
21 Death and life [are] in [the] hand of [the] tongue and [those who] love it he will eat fruit its.
Ike ọnwụ na ndụ dị ire nʼaka. Ndị hụrụ ya nʼanya ga-eri mkpụrụ ya.
22 He finds a wife he finds a good thing and he obtained pleasure from Yahweh.
Nwoke ahụ chọtara nwunye chọtara ezi ihe. Ọ na-anatakwa ihuọma site nʼaka Onyenwe anyị.
23 Supplications he speaks a poor [person] and a rich [person] he answers strong [words].
Onye ogbenye na-arịọ arịrịọ maka ebere; ma ọgaranya na-asa okwu ike ike.
24 A person of companions [is] to be broken and there [is one who] loves cleaving more than a brother.
Onye nwere ọtụtụ ndị enyi ndị na-ekwesighị ga-abịa nʼịla nʼiyi mgbe na-adịghị anya, ma ọ dị enyi nke na-arapara nso karịa nwanne.
