Proverbs 18
1 Desire he seeks [one who] separates himself on all sound wisdom he bursts out.
L'homme qui veut rompre avec ses amis cherche des prétextes, et en tout temps il sera digne de blâme.
2 Not he delights a fool in understanding that except in revealing itself heart his.
Celui qui manque de sens n'a que faire de la sagesse; il est plutôt conduit par la folie.
3 When comes a wicked [person] it comes also contempt and with shame reproach.
Lorsque l'impie est tombé en un abîme de fautes, il n'en tient compte; mais la honte et les ignominies lui arrivent.
4 [are] waters Deep [the] words of [the] mouth of a person a wadi flowing a fountain of wisdom.
La parole dans le cœur de l'homme est une eau profonde; un fleuve en jaillit, et une fontaine de vie.
5 To lift up [the] face of a wicked [person] not [is] good to turn aside a righteous [person] in judgment.
Il n'est pas bien d'avoir égard à la parole de l'impie; se détourner de l'équité dans la jeunesse est une impiété.
6 [the] lips of A fool they go in strife and mouth his for blows it calls.
Les lèvres de l'insensé le mènent à mal, et sa bouche hardie appelle la mort.
7 [the] mouth of A fool [is] ruin of him and lips his [are] [the] snare of life his.
La bouche de l'insensé est sa ruine; ses lèvres sont un piège pour son âme.
8 [the] words of A slanderer [are] like delicacies and they they go down [the] chambers of [the] belly.
La crainte abat les paresseux; les âmes des efféminés sont toujours affamées.
9 Also [one who] shows himself idle in work his [is] a brother he of a master of destruction.
Qui n'a point d'ardeur en ses travaux est frère de celui qui se détruit lui-même.
10 [is] a tower of Strength [the] name of Yahweh in it he runs a righteous [person] and he is set on high.
Le Nom du Seigneur est d'une force toute-puissante; les justes qui courent à Lui sont glorifiés.
11 [the] wealth of A rich [person] [is] [the] town of strength his and like a wall high in own imagination his.
Les biens du riche sont une forteresse; sa gloire projette au loin de l'ombre.
12 Before destruction it is haughty [the] heart of a person and [is] before honor humility.
Le cœur de l'homme s'exalte avant d'être brisé; ils s'humilie avant d'être glorifié.
13 [one who] brings back A word before he listens [is] folly it of him and ignominy.
Répondre avant d'avoir entendu, c'est insensé et blâmable.
14 [the] spirit of A person it will endure sickness his and a spirit stricken who? will he bear it.
Un serviteur prudent apaise la colère de l'homme; qui peut supporter un homme pusillanime?
15 A heart discerning it acquires knowledge and [the] ear of wise [people] it seeks knowledge.
Le cœur de l'homme sensé possède la doctrine; les oreilles du sage cherchent l'intelligence.
16 [the] gift of A person it makes space for him and before great [people] it leads him.
Les présents que fait un homme le grandissent et le font siéger parmi les puissants.
17 [is] righteous The first in case his (and he will come *Q(K)*) neighbor his and he will examine him.
Le juste s'accuse le premier; mais s'il est ensuite attaqué, c'est son adversaire qu'on blâme.
18 Contentions it puts an end to the lot and between mighty [people] it separates.
L'homme silencieux apaise les contradictions; il juge entre les puissants.
19 A brother transgressed [is] more than a town of strength (and contentions *Q(K)*) [are] like [the] bar of a fortress.
Un frère, soutenu par son frère, est comme une puissante et haute cité; il est fort comme un palais solidement bâti.
20 From [the] fruit of [the] mouth of a person it is satisfied belly his [the] produce of lips his he is satisfied.
L'homme remplit ses entrailles des fruits de sa bouche, et se rassasiera du fruit de ses lèvres.
21 Death and life [are] in [the] hand of [the] tongue and [those who] love it he will eat fruit its.
La mort et la vie sont au pouvoir de la langue; ceux qui la maîtrisent mangeront ses fruits.
22 He finds a wife he finds a good thing and he obtained pleasure from Yahweh.
Celui qui a trouvé une femme bonne a trouvé des grâces; il a reçu de Dieu l'allégresse. Celui qui répudie une femme bonne répudie une bonne fortune; celui qui garde une adultère est impie et insensé.
23 Supplications he speaks a poor [person] and a rich [person] he answers strong [words].
24 A person of companions [is] to be broken and there [is one who] loves cleaving more than a brother.
