< Proverbs 16 >
1 [belong] to A person [the] plans of [the] heart and [is] from Yahweh [the] answer of [the] tongue.
It perteyneth to man to make redi the soule; and it perteyneth to the Lord to gouerne the tunge.
2 All [the] ways of a person [are] pure in own eyes his and [is] weighing spirits Yahweh.
Alle the weies of men ben opyn to the iyen of God; the Lord is a weiere of spiritis.
3 Roll to Yahweh works your so they may be established plans your.
Schewe thi werkys to the Lord; and thi thouytis schulen be dressid.
4 Everything he makes Yahweh for purpose its and also [the] wicked for a day of trouble.
The Lord wrouyte alle thingis for hym silf; and he made redi a wickid man to the yuel dai.
5 [is] [the] abomination of Yahweh every [person] haughty of heart hand to hand not he will go unpunished.
Abhomynacioun of the Lord is ech proude man; yhe, thouy the hond is to the hond, he schal not be innocent. The bigynnyng of good weie is to do riytwisnesse; forsothe it is more acceptable at God, than to offre sacrifices.
6 By loyalty and faithfulness it is atoned for iniquity and [is] by [the] fear of Yahweh turning aside from evil.
Wickidnesse is ayen bouyt bi merci and treuthe; and me bowith awei fro yuel bi the drede of the Lord.
7 When is pleased with Yahweh [the] ways of a person also enemies his he causes to be at peace with him.
Whanne the weyes of man plesen the Lord, he schal conuerte, yhe, hise enemyes to pees.
8 [is] good A little with righteousness more than greatness of gains with not justice.
Betere is a litil with riytfulnesse, than many fruytis with wickidnesse.
9 [the] heart of A person it plans way his and Yahweh he directs step[s] his.
The herte of a man schal dispose his weie; but it perteyneth to the Lord to dresse hise steppis.
10 Divination - [is] on [the] lips of a king in judgment not it will act unfaithfully mouth his.
Dyuynyng is in the lippis of a king; his mouth schal not erre in doom.
11 A balance - and scales of justice [belong] to Yahweh [are] work his all [the] weights of [the] bag.
The domes of the Lord ben weiyte and a balaunce; and hise werkis ben alle the stoonys of the world.
12 [is] an abomination of Kings to do wickedness for by righteousness it is established a throne.
Thei that don wickidli ben abhomynable to the king; for the trone of the rewme is maad stidfast bi riytfulnesse.
13 [are the] delight of Kings lips of righteousness and [one who] speaks upright [things] he loves.
The wille of kyngis is iust lippis; he that spekith riytful thingis, schal be dressid.
14 [the] rage of A king [is] messengers of death and a person wise he covers it.
Indignacioun of the kyng is messangeris of deth; and a wijs man schal plese him.
15 [is] in [the] light of [the] face of A king life and favor his [is] like a cloud of spring rain.
Lijf is in the gladnesse of the `cheer of the king; and his merci is as a reyn comynge late.
16 To acquire wisdom how! [is] good more than gold and to acquire understanding [is to be] chosen more than silver.
Welde thou wisdom, for it is betere than gold; and gete thou prudence, for it is precyousere than siluer.
17 [the] highway of Upright [people] [is] to turn aside from evil [is] protecting life his [one who] guards way his.
The path of iust men bowith awei yuelis; the kepere of his soule kepith his weie.
18 [is] Before breaking pride and [is] before stumbling haughtiness of spirit.
Pride goith bifore sorewe; and the spirit schal be enhaunsid byfor fallyng.
19 [is] good To be lowly spirit with (humble [people] *Q(K)*) more than dividing plunder with proud [people].
It is betere to be maad meke with mylde men, than to departe spuylis with proude men.
20 [one who] gives attention On a word he finds good and [one who] trusts in Yahweh how blessed [is] he.
A lerned man in word schal fynde goodis; and he that hopith in the Lord is blessid.
21 To [the] wise of heart it is called discerning and sweetness of lips it increases teaching.
He that is wijs in herte, schal be clepid prudent; and he that is swete in speche, schal fynde grettere thingis.
22 [is] a fountain of Life [the] prudence of owners its and [the] discipline of fools [is] foolishness.
The welle of lijf is the lernyng of him that weldith; the techyng of foolis is foli.
23 [the] heart of A wise [person] it gives insight to mouth his and to lips his it adds teaching.
The herte of a wijs man schal teche his mouth; and schal encreesse grace to hise lippis.
24 [are] a honeycomb of Honey words of kindness a sweet [thing] to the soul and healing to the bone[s].
Wordis wel set togidere is a coomb of hony; helthe of boonys is the swetnesse of soule.
25 There [is] a way right before a person and end its [is] [the] ways of death.
A weye is that semeth riytful to a man; and the laste thingis therof leden to deth.
26 [the] appetite of A laborer it labors for him for it presses on him mouth his.
The soule of a man trauelinge trauelith to hym silf; for his mouth compellide hym.
27 A person of worthlessness [is] digging up evil and [is] on (lip his *Q(K)*) like a fire scorching.
An vnwijs man diggith yuel; and fier brenneth in hise lippis.
28 A person of perversities he sends out strife and a slanderer [is] separating a close friend.
A weiward man reisith stryues; and a man ful of wordis departith princis.
29 A person of violence he deceives neighbor his and he leads him in a way not good.
A wickid man flaterith his frend; and ledith hym bi a weie not good.
30 [one who] shuts Eyes his to devise perverse things [one who] purses lips his he accomplishes evil.
He that thenkith schrewid thingis with iyen astonyed, bitith hise lippis, and parformeth yuel.
31 [is] a crown of Splendor gray hair in [the] way of righteousness it is found.
A coroun of dignyte is eelde, that schal be foundun in the weies of riytfulnesse.
32 [is] good A [person] long of anger more than a warrior and [one who] rules over spirit his more than [one who] captures a city.
A pacient man is betere than a stronge man; and he that `is lord of his soule, is betere than an ouercomere of citees.
33 In the bosom it is thrown the lot and [is] from Yahweh every decision its.
Lottis ben sent into the bosum; but tho ben temperid of the Lord.
