< Proverbs 13 >
1 A son wise [the] discipline of a father and a mocker not he listens to a rebuke.
A wise son listeneth to the instruction of his father; But a scoffer listeneth not to rebuke.
2 From [the] fruit of [the] mouth of a person he eats good thing[s] and [the] appetite of treacherous [people] [is] violence.
By the fruit of a man's mouth he shall eat good; But the appetite of transgressors shall be sated with violence.
3 [one who] guards Mouth his [is] protecting life his [one who] opens lips his ruin [belongs] to him.
He who keepeth his mouth keepeth his life; But destruction shall be to him who openeth wide his lips.
4 [is] coveting And nothing appetite his a sluggard and [the] appetite of diligent [people] it will be made fat.
The appetite of the sluggard longeth, and hath nothing; But the appetite of the diligent is fully satisfied.
5 A word of falsehood he hates a righteous [person] and a wicked [person] he acts odiously and he may act shamefully.
A righteous man hateth words of falsehood; But a wicked man causeth disgrace and shame.
6 Righteousness it preserves integrity of way and wickedness it subverts sin.
Righteousness preserveth him who is upright in his way; But wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
7 There [is one who] enriches himself and there not [is] anything [one who] impoverishes himself and wealth great.
There is who maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing, Who maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
8 [the] ransom of [the] life of A person [is] wealth his and a poor [person] not he hears a threat.
A man's wealth is the ransom of his life; But the poor man heareth no threatenings.
9 [the] light of Righteous [people] it rejoices and [the] lamp of wicked [people] it is extinguished.
The light of the righteous shall rejoice; But the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
10 Only with pride it gives contention and [is] with [those who] receive advice wisdom.
By pride cometh only contention; But with the well-advised is wisdom.
11 Wealth from vanity it will become small and [one who] gathers on hand he will increase.
Wealth gotten by vanity will become small; But he who gathereth it into the hand increaseth it.
12 Hope deferred [is] making sick [the] heart and [is] a tree of life a desire [which] comes.
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; But the desire accomplished is a tree of life.
13 [one who] despises A word he will be pledged to it and [one] fearing a commandment he he will be rewarded.
He that despiseth the word shall be destroyed; But he who revereth the commandment shall be rewarded.
14 [the] instruction of A wise [person] [is] a fountain of life to turn aside from [the] snares of death.
The instruction of the wise is a fountain of life; By it men escape from the snares of death.
15 Insight good it gives favor and [the] way of treacherous [people] [is] enduring.
A good understanding winneth favor; But the way of transgressors is hard.
16 Every sensible [person] he acts with knowledge and a fool he spreads out foolishness.
Every prudent man acteth with knowledge; But a fool spreadeth abroad his folly.
17 A messenger wicked he falls in trouble and an envoy of faithfulness [is] healing.
A wicked messenger falleth into trouble; But a faithful ambassador is health.
18 Poverty and shame [one who] ignores discipline and [one who] keeps correction he is honored.
Poverty and shame are for him who rejecteth instruction; But he that regardeth reproof shall come to honor.
19 A desire done (is pleasing *LAH(b)*) to a person and [is] an abomination of fools to turn aside from evil.
The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; But it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.
20 ([one who] walks *Q(K)*) With wise [people] (he will become wise *Q(K)*) and [one who] associates with fools he will be harmed.
He who walketh with wise men shall be wise; But the companion of fools shall be destroyed.
21 Sinners it pursues calamity and righteous [people] it rewards good.
Calamity pursueth the wicked; But the righteous is rewarded with good.
22 A good [person] he leaves an inheritance to children of children and [is] stored up for the righteous [the] wealth of a sinner.
The good man leaveth his substance to his children's children; But the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
23 Abundance of food [the] unplowed ground of poor [people] and there [is what] is swept away in not justice.
There is much food from the fallow-ground of the poor; But there is who is brought low for want of uprightness.
24 [one who] restrains Rod his [is] hating son his and [one who] loves him he seeks early him discipline.
He that spareth the rod hateth his son; But he who loveth him chasteneth him early.
25 A righteous [person] [is] eating to [the] satiety of appetite his and [the] belly of wicked [people] it is lacking.
The righteous man eateth to the satisfying of his desire; But the stomach of the wicked suffereth want.
