< Proverbs 13 >
1 A son wise [the] discipline of a father and a mocker not he listens to a rebuke.
A wise son—the instruction of a father, And a scorner—he has not heard rebuke.
2 From [the] fruit of [the] mouth of a person he eats good thing[s] and [the] appetite of treacherous [people] [is] violence.
A man eats good from the fruit of the mouth, And the soul of the treacherous—violence.
3 [one who] guards Mouth his [is] protecting life his [one who] opens lips his ruin [belongs] to him.
Whoever is keeping his mouth, is keeping his soul, Whoever is opening wide his lips—ruin to him!
4 [is] coveting And nothing appetite his a sluggard and [the] appetite of diligent [people] it will be made fat.
The soul of the slothful is desiring, and does not have. And the soul of the diligent is made fat.
5 A word of falsehood he hates a righteous [person] and a wicked [person] he acts odiously and he may act shamefully.
The righteous hates a false word, And the wicked causes abhorrence, and is confounded.
6 Righteousness it preserves integrity of way and wickedness it subverts sin.
Righteousness keeps him who is perfect in the way, And wickedness overthrows a sin offering.
7 There [is one who] enriches himself and there not [is] anything [one who] impoverishes himself and wealth great.
There is [he] who is making himself rich, and has nothing, Who is making himself poor, and wealth [is] abundant.
8 [the] ransom of [the] life of A person [is] wealth his and a poor [person] not he hears a threat.
The ransom of a man’s life [are] his riches, And the poor has not heard rebuke.
9 [the] light of Righteous [people] it rejoices and [the] lamp of wicked [people] it is extinguished.
The light of the righteous rejoices, And the lamp of the wicked is extinguished.
10 Only with pride it gives contention and [is] with [those who] receive advice wisdom.
A vain man causes debate through pride, And wisdom [is] with the counseled.
11 Wealth from vanity it will become small and [one who] gathers on hand he will increase.
Wealth from vanity becomes little, And whoever is gathering by the hand becomes great.
12 Hope deferred [is] making sick [the] heart and [is] a tree of life a desire [which] comes.
Hope prolonged is making the heart sick, And a tree of life [is] the coming desire.
13 [one who] despises A word he will be pledged to it and [one] fearing a commandment he he will be rewarded.
Whoever is despising the word is destroyed for it, And whoever is fearing the command is repaid.
14 [the] instruction of A wise [person] [is] a fountain of life to turn aside from [the] snares of death.
The law of the wise [is] a fountain of life, To turn aside from snares of death.
15 Insight good it gives favor and [the] way of treacherous [people] [is] enduring.
Good understanding gives grace, And the way of the treacherous [is] hard.
16 Every sensible [person] he acts with knowledge and a fool he spreads out foolishness.
Every prudent one deals with knowledge, And a fool spreads out folly.
17 A messenger wicked he falls in trouble and an envoy of faithfulness [is] healing.
A wicked messenger falls into evil, And a faithful ambassador is healing.
18 Poverty and shame [one who] ignores discipline and [one who] keeps correction he is honored.
Whoever is refusing instruction—poverty and shame, And whoever is observing reproof is honored.
19 A desire done (is pleasing *LAH(b)*) to a person and [is] an abomination of fools to turn aside from evil.
A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, And an abomination to fools [Is] to turn from evil.
20 ([one who] walks *Q(K)*) With wise [people] (he will become wise *Q(K)*) and [one who] associates with fools he will be harmed.
Whoever is walking with wise men is wise, And a companion of fools suffers evil.
21 Sinners it pursues calamity and righteous [people] it rewards good.
Evil pursues sinners, And good repays the righteous.
22 A good [person] he leaves an inheritance to children of children and [is] stored up for the righteous [the] wealth of a sinner.
A good man causes sons’ sons to inherit, And the sinner’s wealth [is] laid up for the righteous.
23 Abundance of food [the] unplowed ground of poor [people] and there [is what] is swept away in not justice.
Abundance of food—the tillage of the poor, And substance is consumed without judgment.
24 [one who] restrains Rod his [is] hating son his and [one who] loves him he seeks early him discipline.
Whoever is sparing his rod is hating his son, And whoever is loving him has hurried his discipline.
25 A righteous [person] [is] eating to [the] satiety of appetite his and [the] belly of wicked [people] it is lacking.
The righteous is eating to the satiety of his soul, And the belly of the wicked lacks!
