< Proverbs 13 >

1 A son wise [the] discipline of a father and a mocker not he listens to a rebuke.

2 From [the] fruit of [the] mouth of a person he eats good thing[s] and [the] appetite of treacherous [people] [is] violence.
A huui awhkaw ak thaih leek awhkawng thlang ing ak thaih qah hu nawh, cehlai amak ypawm thlang ingtaw boeseet sai ce ngaih hy.
3 [one who] guards Mouth his [is] protecting life his [one who] opens lips his ruin [belongs] to him.
A hui am lai ak ngaihtaak thlang taw a hqingnaak khanawh ak ngaihtaak thlangna awm nawh, cehlai ak poek kaana awi ak saa paqaap qaap thlang taw plamtham kaw.
4 [is] coveting And nothing appetite his a sluggard and [the] appetite of diligent [people] it will be made fat.
Thlang thakdam kawpoek ing a hoei ngaihnaak ta lawt hy, cehlai ikaw am ta hy. Thlakmeet ingtaw a ngaih boeih ce hu hy.
5 A word of falsehood he hates a righteous [person] and a wicked [person] he acts odiously and he may act shamefully.
Thlakdyng ingtaw amak thyym awi kqawn sawh na nawh, cehlai khawsak amak dyng thlang ingtaw chahnaak ing ming che phyih sak hy.
6 Righteousness it preserves integrity of way and wickedness it subverts sin.
Dyngnaak ing ak thyymna khawksaakhqi ce khoemdoenkhqi nawh, thawlhnaak ing thlakthawlhkhqi ce tluuk sak khqi hy.
7 There [is one who] enriches himself and there not [is] anything [one who] impoverishes himself and wealth great.
Boeina ak saa qu ikawm amak ta awm nawh, khawdengna ak saa qu ing khawhthem khawzah ak ta awm hy,
8 [the] ransom of [the] life of A person [is] wealth his and a poor [person] not he hears a threat.
Khawh ing ak taakung hqingnaak thawng thai nawh, cehlai khawdeng thlang ing thlang a theet vutnaak awi am za hy.
9 [the] light of Righteous [people] it rejoices and [the] lamp of wicked [people] it is extinguished.
Thlakdyng a vaangnaak taw angqungtheng nawh, thlakchekhqi a maihchoei taw him pekna awm kaw.
10 Only with pride it gives contention and [is] with [those who] receive advice wisdom.
Ooekqunaak ing hqo thawhsak nawh, awi ak ngai venawh cyihnaak awm hy.
11 Wealth from vanity it will become small and [one who] gathers on hand he will increase.
Amak thyymna khawh huh taw phu amak tana qeeng zip kawm saw, bibi phu huh khawh taw pung khqoet khqoet kaw.
12 Hope deferred [is] making sick [the] heart and [is] a tree of life a desire [which] comes.
Ngaih-uunaak a plam awh kawlung tlo nawh, cehlai ngaih-uunaak a soepnaak taw hqingnaak thingsii ni.
13 [one who] despises A word he will be pledged to it and [one] fearing a commandment he he will be rewarded.
Awi amak ngaikhqi ham thihnaak pha kawm saw, awipek ak kqihchah ak thlang taw kutdo pekna awm kaw.
14 [the] instruction of A wise [person] [is] a fountain of life to turn aside from [the] snares of death.
Thlakcyikhqi cawngpyinaak taw hqingnaak tuikuk amyihna awm nawh, thihnaak thaang awhkawng thlang loet sak hy.
15 Insight good it gives favor and [the] way of treacherous [people] [is] enduring.
Zaaksiimnaak leek ing thlang mikhaileeknaak pe nawh; cehlai amak ypawm thlang a cehnaak lam taw kyi hy.
16 Every sensible [person] he acts with knowledge and a fool he spreads out foolishness.
Khawksiim thlang ingtaw cyihnaak ing bi sai nawh, thlakqaw ing a qawnaak zaan hy.
17 A messenger wicked he falls in trouble and an envoy of faithfulness [is] healing.
Amak leek tamnaa taw zoseetnaak awh tlu thai nawh, ak ypawm dyihthing taw sadingnaak ni.
18 Poverty and shame [one who] ignores discipline and [one who] keeps correction he is honored.
Toelnaak amak ngai ing khawdeng chah phyi nawh, cehlai toelnaak ak haanaaking kyihcahnaak ham kaw.
19 A desire done (is pleasing *LAH(b)*) to a person and [is] an abomination of fools to turn aside from evil.
Ngaih-uunaak ak soepnaak taw kawlung ham aawi nawh, thlakche hamna seet sainaak awhkawng hu nawng ve sawhnaak kawi ni.
20 ([one who] walks *Q(K)*) With wise [people] (he will become wise *Q(K)*) and [one who] associates with fools he will be harmed.
Thlakcyi pyinaak taw cyihnaakna awm nawh, thlakche pyinaak taw seetnaak ni.
21 Sinners it pursues calamity and righteous [people] it rewards good.
Thawlhnaak ing thlangthawlh hu hquut nawh, thlakdyng taw themleek ing thungna awm kaw.
22 A good [person] he leaves an inheritance to children of children and [is] stored up for the righteous [the] wealth of a sinner.
Thlakleek ing a tu a ca khqi hamna khawh taak pek khqi nawh, thlakche a khawh taw thlakdyngkhqi ham cun pekna ak awm ni.
23 Abundance of food [the] unplowed ground of poor [people] and there [is what] is swept away in not justice.
Khawdeng a loma awh caang daw soeih moe, amak thyymna bibinaak ing phu amak tana zip boeih hy.
24 [one who] restrains Rod his [is] hating son his and [one who] loves him he seeks early him discipline.
A ca ak sawhnaak thlang ing cumcik am hawna nawh, ak lungnaak thlang ing a ca ce toelna hy.
25 A righteous [person] [is] eating to [the] satiety of appetite his and [the] belly of wicked [people] it is lacking.
Thlakdyng ing taw buh ak phyina ai nawh, cehlai thlakche taw buh cawih ing awm kaw.
