Numbers 25
1 And it remained Israel in Shittim and it began the people to commit fornication into [the] daughters of Moab.
Ɛberɛ a Israelfoɔ bɔɔ atenaseɛ wɔ Sitim no, wɔn mu mmarima no bi hyɛɛ aseɛ ne Moab mmabaawa no bɔɔ adwaman de guu wɔn ho fi.
2 And they invited the people to [the] sacrifices of gods their and it ate the people and they bowed down to gods their.
Saa mmabaawa yi too nsa frɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔmmra wɔn afɔdeɛ a wɔbɔ ma wɔn anyame no ase. Ankyɛre biara, mmarima no kɔɔ wɔn apontoɔ ase na wɔsomm Moab anyame.
3 And it joined itself Israel to Baal Peor and it burned [the] anger of Yahweh on Israel.
Ɛberɛ tiawa bi akyi, Israelfoɔ no nyinaa kɔsom Baal-peor a ɔyɛ Moabfoɔ nyame. Yei maa Awurade bo fuu ne nkurɔfoɔ no yie.
4 And he said Yahweh to Moses take all [the] leaders of the people and impale them to Yahweh before the sun so may it turn away [the] burning of [the] anger of Yahweh from Israel.
Ɔhyɛɛ saa mmara yi maa Mose sɛ, “Kunkum mpanimfoɔ a wɔtuatua Israel mmusuakuo no ano no nyinaa. Sɛn wɔn wɔ Awurade anim awia ketee sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, nʼabufuo a ano yɛ den no bɛfiri wɔn so.”
5 And he said Moses to [the] judges of Israel kill everyone men his who have joined themselves to Baal Peor.
Enti, Mose hyɛɛ atemmufoɔ no ma wɔkunkumm wɔn a wɔsomm Baal-peor no nyinaa.
6 And there! a man from [the] people of Israel [was] coming and he brought near to brothers his the Midianite [woman] to [the] eyes of Moses and to [the] eyes of all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel and they [were] weeping [the] entrance of [the] tent of meeting.

7 And he saw [it] Phinehas [the] son of Eleazar [the] son of Aaron the priest and he arose from among the congregation and he took a spear in hand his.
Ɛberɛ a Pinehas a ɔyɛ Eleasa babarima a na ɔyɛ ɔsɔfoɔ Aaron nana hunuu yei no, ɔhuri sɔɔ pea mu
8 And he went after [the] man of Israel into the tent and he pierced through both of them [the] man of Israel and the woman into belly her and it was restrained the plague from on [the] people of Israel.
taa saa ɔbarima no so de no kɔwuraa ne ntomadan mu baabi a ɔfaa ɔbaa no. Ɔde pea no wowɔɔ ɔbarima no sane de wɔɔ ɔbaa no yafunu mu. Enti, ɔhaw no to twaa wɔ Israelfoɔ no mu,
9 And they were those [who] died by the plague four and twenty thousand.
nanso ɛkɔsi saa ɛberɛ no, na nnipa mpem aduonu ɛnan awuwu dada.
10 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
Afei, Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose sɛ,
11 Phinehas [the] son of Eleazar [the] son of Aaron the priest he has turned back rage my from against [the] people of Israel because was zealous he zeal my in midst of them and not I made an end of [the] people of Israel in zeal my.
“Eleasa babarima Pinehas a ɔyɛ ɔsɔfoɔ Aaron nana adwodwo mʼabufuo ano, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔbɔɔ mmɔden te sɛ me ara wɔ mʼanimuonyam ho, enti sɛdeɛ meyɛɛ mʼadwene sɛ mɛsɛe Israelfoɔ nyinaa no, magyae.
12 Therefore say here I [am] about to give to him covenant my peace.
Enti ka kyerɛ no sɛ, me ne no rebɛyɛ asomdwoeɛ apam.
13 And it will belong to him and to offspring his after him a covenant of priesthood of perpetuity because that he was zealous for God his and he made atonement on [the] people of Israel.
Saa apam yi mu, ɔno ne nʼasefoɔ bɛyɛ asɔfoɔ afebɔɔ, ɛfiri sɛ watwe me, ne Onyankopɔn, ho ninkunu wɔ Israelfoɔ mu de ayɛ mpata ama wɔn.”
14 And [the] name of [the] man of Israel who was struck down who he was struck down with the Midianite [woman] [was] Zimri [the] son of Salu a leader of a house of a father of the Simeonite[s].
Ɔbarima a wɔkumm no ne Midiani ababaawa no, na ne din de Simri a na ɔyɛ Salu a ɔtua Simeon abusuakuo ano no babarima.
15 And [the] name of the woman who was struck down the Midianite [woman] [was] Cozbi [the] daughter of Zur [was] a leader of tribes a house of a father in Midian he.
Ɔbaa no nso, na ne din de Kosbi a na ɔyɛ Midianhene babarima Sur babaa.
16 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses say.
Afei, Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose sɛ,
17 oppose The Midianites and you will strike down them.
“To hyɛ Midianfoɔ no so na sɛe wɔn,
18 For [are] opposers they you by deceitfulness their which they have dealt deceptively to you on [the] matter of Peor and on [the] matter of Cozbi [the] daughter of [the] leader of Midian sister their who was struck down on [the] day of the plague on [the] matter of Peor.
ɛfiri sɛ, wɔfaa mo sɛ atamfoɔ, na wɔdaadaa mo ma mosomm Baal-peor, ne Kosbi a ɔyɛ Midian ntuanoni babaa a wɔkumm no wɔ Peor ɔyaredɔm ɛda no.”
