Numbers 25
1 And it remained Israel in Shittim and it began the people to commit fornication into [the] daughters of Moab.
Y reposó Israel en Sitim, y el pueblo empezó a fornicar con las hijas de Moab,
2 And they invited the people to [the] sacrifices of gods their and it ate the people and they bowed down to gods their.
las cuales llamaron al pueblo a los sacrificios de sus dioses; y el pueblo comió, y se inclinó a sus dioses.
3 And it joined itself Israel to Baal Peor and it burned [the] anger of Yahweh on Israel.
Y se allegó el pueblo a Baal-peor; y el furor del SEÑOR se encendió contra Israel.
4 And he said Yahweh to Moses take all [the] leaders of the people and impale them to Yahweh before the sun so may it turn away [the] burning of [the] anger of Yahweh from Israel.
Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Toma a todos los príncipes del pueblo, y ahórcalos ante el SEÑOR delante del sol; y la ira del furor del SEÑOR se apartará de Israel.
5 And he said Moses to [the] judges of Israel kill everyone men his who have joined themselves to Baal Peor.
Entonces Moisés dijo a los jueces de Israel: Matad cada uno a sus varones que se han juntado con Baal-peor.
6 And there! a man from [the] people of Israel [was] coming and he brought near to brothers his the Midianite [woman] to [the] eyes of Moses and to [the] eyes of all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel and they [were] weeping [the] entrance of [the] tent of meeting.
Entonces he aquí un varón de los hijos de Israel vino y trajo una madianita a sus hermanos, a ojos de Moisés y de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, llorando ellos a la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio.
7 And he saw [it] Phinehas [the] son of Eleazar [the] son of Aaron the priest and he arose from among the congregation and he took a spear in hand his.
Y lo vio Finees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón sacerdote, y se levantó de en medio de la congregación, y tomó una lanza en su mano;
8 And he went after [the] man of Israel into the tent and he pierced through both of them [the] man of Israel and the woman into belly her and it was restrained the plague from on [the] people of Israel.
y fue tras el varón de Israel a la tienda, y los alanceó a ambos, al varón de Israel, y a la mujer por su vientre. Y cesó la mortandad de los hijos de Israel.
9 And they were those [who] died by the plague four and twenty thousand.
Y murieron de aquella mortandad veinticuatro mil.
10 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
Entonces el SEÑOR habló a Moisés, diciendo:
11 Phinehas [the] son of Eleazar [the] son of Aaron the priest he has turned back rage my from against [the] people of Israel because was zealous he zeal my in midst of them and not I made an end of [the] people of Israel in zeal my.
Finees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón sacerdote, ha hecho apartar mi furor de los hijos de Israel, llevado de celo entre ellos; por lo cual yo no he consumido en mi celo a los hijos de Israel.
12 Therefore say here I [am] about to give to him covenant my peace.
Por tanto diles: He aquí yo establezco mi pacto de paz con él;
13 And it will belong to him and to offspring his after him a covenant of priesthood of perpetuity because that he was zealous for God his and he made atonement on [the] people of Israel.
y tendrá él, y su simiente después de él, el pacto del sacerdocio perpetuo; por cuanto tuvo celo por su Dios, y reconcilió los hijos de Israel.
14 And [the] name of [the] man of Israel who was struck down who he was struck down with the Midianite [woman] [was] Zimri [the] son of Salu a leader of a house of a father of the Simeonite[s].
Y el nombre del varón muerto, que fue muerto con la madianita, era Zimri hijo de Salu, príncipe de una familia de la tribu de Simeón.
15 And [the] name of the woman who was struck down the Midianite [woman] [was] Cozbi [the] daughter of Zur [was] a leader of tribes a house of a father in Midian he.
Y el nombre de la mujer madianita muerta, era Cozbi, hija de Zur, príncipe de pueblos, padre de familia en Madián.
16 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses say.
Y el SEÑOR habló a Moisés, diciendo:
17 oppose The Midianites and you will strike down them.
Afligiréis a los madianitas, y los heriréis;
18 For [are] opposers they you by deceitfulness their which they have dealt deceptively to you on [the] matter of Peor and on [the] matter of Cozbi [the] daughter of [the] leader of Midian sister their who was struck down on [the] day of the plague on [the] matter of Peor.
por cuanto ellos os afligieron a vosotros con sus engaños, con que os han engañado en el negocio de Peor, y en el negocio de Cozbi, hija del príncipe de Madián, su hermana, la cual fue muerta el día de la mortandad por causa de Peor.
