Numbers 23

1 And he said Balaam to Balak build for me in this [place] seven altars and prepare for me in this [place] seven young bulls and seven rams.

बालामले बालाकलाई भने, “यहाँ मेरो निम्ति सातवटा वेदी निर्माण गर्नुहोस्, र सातवटा साँढे र सातवटा भेडा तयार पार्नुहोस् ।

2 And he did Balak just as he had spoken Balaam and he offered up Balak and Balaam a young bull and a ram on the altar.

बालाकले बालामले भनेजस्तै गरे । अनि बालाक र बालामले हरेक वेदीमा एउटा-एउटा साँढे र भेडा बलि चढाए ।

3 And he said Balaam to Balak take your stand with burnt offering your so let me go perhaps he will meet Yahweh to meet me and [the] word of whatever he will show me and I will tell to you and he went a bare height.

अनि बालामले बालाकलाई भने, “तपाईं आफ्‍नो बलिदानको छेउमा खडा हुनुहोस् र म जाने छु । सायद परमप्रभु मलाई भेट्न आउनुहुने छ । उहाँले मलाई जे देखाउनुहुन्छ, सो म गर्ने छु ।” त्यसैले तिनी कुनै रुख नभएको पहडाको चुचुरोतिर गए ।

4 And he met God Balaam and he said to him [the] seven the altars I have arranged and I have offered up a young bull and a ram on the altar.

तिनी पहाडको टुप्पोमा हुँदा परमेश्‍वरले तिनलाई भेट्नुभयो र बालामले उहाँलाई भने, “मैले सातवटा वेदी बनाएको छु र मैले हरेक वेदीमा एउटा-एउटा साँढे र भेडा बलि चढाएको छु ।”

5 And he put Yahweh a word in [the] mouth of Balaam and he said return to Balak and thus you will speak.

परमप्रभुले बालामको मुखमा वचन हालिदिनुभयो र भन्‍नुभयो, “बालाककहाँ फर्केर जा र त्यसलाई भन् ।”

6 And he returned to him and there! [he was] standing with burnt offering his he and all [the] leaders of Moab.

त्यसैले बालाम बालाककहाँ फर्के, जो आफ्‍नो बलिदानको छेउमा उभिरहेका थिए र मोआबका सबै अगुवा तिनीसँग थिए ।

7 And he lifted up oracle his and he said from Aram he led me Balak [the] king of Moab from [the] mountains of [the] east come! curse! for me Jacob and come! denounce! Israel.

बालामले अगमवाणी कहन थाले र भने, “मोआबका राजा बालाकले मलाई पूर्वका पहाडहरूबाट अर्थात् अरामबाट ल्याएका छन् । तिनले भने, 'आउनुहोस् मेरो निम्ति याकूबलाई सराप दिनुहोस् ।' 'आउनुहोस्, इस्राएललाई धम्की दिनुहोस् ।'

8 What? will I curse [one whom] not he has cursed him God and what? will I denounce [one whom] not he has denounced Yahweh.

परमेश्‍वरले नै सराप नदिनुभएकालाई मैले कसरी सराप दिन सक्छु? परमप्रभुले नै विरोध नगर्नुभएकाहरूलाई मैले कसरी विरोध गर्न सक्छु?

9 For from [the] top of [the] rocks I see him and from [the] hills I observe him there! a people [which] alone it dwells and among the nations not it reckons itself.

म तिनलाई पहाडको चुचुरोबाट देख्छु; म तिनलाई पहाडबाट हेर्छु । हेर्नुहोस्, एक्लै बस्‍ने मानिसहरू र आफूलाई साधारण जातिको रूपमा ठान्दैनन् ।

10 Who? has he counted [the] dust of Jacob and a number [the] fourth part of Israel let it die self my [the] death of upright [people] and let it be end my like his.

याकूबको धूलोलाई वा इस्राएलको एक चौथाइलाई मात्र पनि कसले गन्‍न सक्छ? मेरो मरण धार्मिक व्यक्‍तिको जस्तो होस् र मेरो जीवन त्यसको जस्तै होस्!”

11 And he said Balak to Balaam what? have you done to me to curse enemies my I took you and here! you have blessed actually.

बालाकले बालामलाई भने, “तपाईंले मलाई के गर्नुभएको? मेरा शत्रुहरूलाई सराप दिनुहोस् भनी मैले तपाईंलाई ल्याएँ, तर हे्र्नुहोस्, तपाईंले त तिनीहरूलाई आशिष् दिनुभयो ।”

12 And he answered and he said ¿ not [that] which he will put Yahweh in mouth my it will I take care to speak.

बालामले जवाफ दिए र भने, “के परमप्रभुले मेरो मुखमा जे हाल्नुहुन्छ सो मात्र भन्‍न म सावधान हुनुपर्दैन र?”

13 And he said to him Balak (come there! *Q(K)*) please with me to a place another where you will see it from there only outskirt[s] its you will see and all of it not you will see and curse it for me from there.

बालाकले तिनलाई भने, “कृपया मसँग अर्को ठाउँमा आउनुहोस् जहाँबाट तपाईंले तिनीहरूलाई देख्‍न सक्‍नुहुन्छ । तपाईंले तिनीहरूलाई नजिकको मात्र देख्‍नुहुने छ, तर तिनीहरू सबैलाई देख्‍नुहुने छैन । तपाईंले तिनीहरूलाई त्यहाँबाट सराप दिनुहुने छ ।”

14 And he took him [the] field of Zophim to [the] top of Pisgah and he built seven altars and he offered up a young bull and a ram on the altar.

त्यसैले तिनले बालामलाई सोफीमको मैदानमा भएको पिसगाको टाकुरामा लगे, र अरू सातवटा वेदी बनाए । तिनले हरेकमा एउटा-एउटा साँढे र भेडा बलि चढाए ।

15 And he said to Balak take your stand thus with burnt offering your and I I will meet thus.

त्यसपछि बालामले बालाकलाई भने, “यहीँ नै तपाईंको बलिदानको छेउमा उभिनुहोस्, म परमप्रभुलाई भेट्न जान्छु ।”

16 And he met Yahweh Balaam and he put a word in mouth his and he said return to Balak and thus you will speak.

त्यसैले परमप्रभुले बालामलाई भेट्नुभयो र तिनको मुखमा सन्देश हालिदिनुभयो । तिनले भने, “बालाककहाँ जा र तिनलाई मेरो सन्देश दे ।”

17 And he went to him and there he [was] standing with burnt offering his and [the] leaders of Moab [were] with him and he said to him Balak what? has he spoken Yahweh.

बालाम तिनीकहाँ फर्केर आए र तिनी आफ्नो होमबलिको छेउमा उभिरहेका थिए र मोआबका अगुवाहरू तिनीसँग थिए । अनि बालाकले तिनलाई भने, “परमप्रभुले के भन्‍नुभयो?”

18 And he lifted up oracle his and he said arise O Balak and hear give ear! to me [O] son his Zippor.

बालामले अगमवाणी गर्न थाले, “उठ् बालाक र सुन् । हे सिप्पोरका छोरा मेरो कुरा सुन् ।

19 Not [is] a human God so he may lie and a son of humankind so he may change his mind ¿ he has he said and not will he act? and has he spoken? and not will he fulfill? it.

परमेश्‍वर मानिस वा मानव हुनुहुन्‍न कि उहाँले ढाँट्नुपरोस्, उहाँले आफ्नो मन बदल्नुपरोस् । के उहाँले पुरा नगर्ने गरी कुनै कुरा प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको छ? के उहाँले कुनै गर्छु भनेर पुरा गर्नुभएको छैन र?

20 Here! [surely] blessing I have received and he has blessed and not I will turn back it.

हेर्नुहोस्, आशिष् दिने आज्ञा मलाई दिइएको छ । परमेश्‍वरले आशिष् दिनुभएको छ र म यसलाई उल्टाउन सक्दिनँ ।

21 Not he has looked at disaster in Jacob and not he has seen trouble in Israel Yahweh God his [is] with him and a shout of a king [is] among him.

उहाँले याकूबसँग कुनै कठिनाइ वा इस्राएलमा कुनै कष्‍ट देख्‍नुभएको छैन । परमप्रभु तिनीहरूका परमेश्‍वर तिनीहरूसँग हुनुहुन्छ र तिनीहरूका राजाको जय-ध्वनि तिनीहरूमाझ छ ।

22 God [is] bringing out them from Egypt like [the] horns of a wild ox [belong] to him.

परमेश्‍वरले तिनीहरूलाई जङ्गली गोरुको जस्तै शक्‍तिले मिश्रबाट ल्याउनुभयो ।

23 For not enchantment [is] in Jacob and not divination [is] in Israel about this time it will be said of Jacob and of Israel what! has he done God.

याकूब विरुद्ध कुनै टुनामुनाले काम गर्दैन र इस्राएललाई कुनै जोखनाले हानि पुर्‍याउँदैन । बरु, याकूब र इस्राएलबारे यसो भन्‍नुपर्छ, 'हेर, परमेश्‍वरले के गर्नुभएको छ!'

24 There! a people like a lion it rises and like a lion it lifts itself up not it will lie down until it will devour prey and [the] blood of [those] slain it will drink.

हेर, मानिसहरू सिंहनीजस्तै उठ्छन्, सिंहजस्तै उठ्छन् र आक्रमण गर्छन् । त्यो आफ्नो सिकारलाई नखाएसम्म र त्यसले मारेको सिकारको रगत नपिएसम्म आराम गर्दैन ।”

25 And he said Balak to Balaam neither at all not you will curse it nor at all not you will bless it.

त्यसपछि बालाकले बालामलाई भने, “तिनीहरूलाई सराप नदिनुहोस् वा आशिष् पनि नदिनुहोस् ।”

26 And he answered Balaam and he said to Balak ¿ not did I speak to you saying all that he will speak Yahweh it I will do.

तर बालामले जवाफ दिए र भने, “के परमप्रभुले भन्‍नलाई बताउनुभएको कुरा मात्र मैले भन्‍नुपर्छ भनी मैले भनेको थिइनँ र?”

27 And he said Balak to Balaam come! please let me take you to a place another perhaps it will be pleasing in [the] eyes of God and you will curse it for me from there.

त्यसैले बालाकले बालामलाई जावाफ दिए, “अब आउनुहोस्, म तपाईंलाई अर्को ठाउँमा लैजान्छु । सायद त्यहाँबाट मेरो निम्ति तिनीहरूलाई सराप दिन परमेश्‍वरले इच्छा गर्नुहुने छ ।”

28 And he took Balak Balaam [the] top of Peor which looks down over [the] face of the desolate place.

त्यसैले बालाकले बालामलाई पोरको टाकुरामा लगे, जहाँबाट तल मरुभूमि देखिन्छ ।

29 And he said Balaam to Balak build for me in this [place] seven altars and prepare for me in this [place] seven young bulls and seven rams.

बालामले बालाकलाई भने, “यहाँ सातवटा वेदी बनाउनुहोस् अनि सातवटा साँढे र भेडा तयार पार्नुहोस् ।”

30 And he did Balak just as he had said Balaam and he offered up a young bull and a ram on the altar.

बालाकले बालामले भनेबमोजिम गरे; तिनले हरेक वेदीमा एउटा-एउटा साँढे र भेडा बलि चढाए ।
