< Numbers 23 >

1 And he said Balaam to Balak build for me in this [place] seven altars and prepare for me in this [place] seven young bulls and seven rams.
Na, a mea a Paraama ki a Paraka, Hanga etahi aata maku kia whitu, kia rite mai hoki maku he puru kia whitu, he hipi toa hoki kia whitu.
2 And he did Balak just as he had spoken Balaam and he offered up Balak and Balaam a young bull and a ram on the altar.
Na rite tonu t Paraka i mea ai ki nga mea i korerotia e Paraama: a whakaekea ana e Paraka raua ko Paraama he puru, he hipi, ki tetahi aata, ki tetahi aata.
3 And he said Balaam to Balak take your stand with burnt offering your so let me go perhaps he will meet Yahweh to meet me and [the] word of whatever he will show me and I will tell to you and he went a bare height.
4 And he met God Balaam and he said to him [the] seven the altars I have arranged and I have offered up a young bull and a ram on the altar.
Na ka tupono a Ihowa ki a Paraama: a ka mea ia ki a ia, Kua oti i ahau nga aata e whitu, kua whakaekea ano hoki he puru, he hipi, ki tenei aata, ki tenei aata.
5 And he put Yahweh a word in [the] mouth of Balaam and he said return to Balak and thus you will speak.
6 And he returned to him and there! [he was] standing with burnt offering his he and all [the] leaders of Moab.
7 And he lifted up oracle his and he said from Aram he led me Balak [the] king of Moab from [the] mountains of [the] east come! curse! for me Jacob and come! denounce! Israel.
Na ka ara tana ki pepeha, ka mea, Na Paraka kingi o Moapa ahau i arahi mai i Arame, i nga maunga o te rawhiti, i mea, Haere mai hei kaikanga maku mo Hakopa, haere mai hoki hei whakatara ki a Iharaira.
8 What? will I curse [one whom] not he has cursed him God and what? will I denounce [one whom] not he has denounced Yahweh.
Me aha e kanga ai ahau i ta te Atua i kore ai e kanga? me aha hoki e whakatara ai ahau ki ta Ihowa kihai i whakatara?
9 For from [the] top of [the] rocks I see him and from [the] hills I observe him there! a people [which] alone it dwells and among the nations not it reckons itself.
Tenei hoki ahau kei te tihi o nga kamaka e titiro atu ana ki a ia, e kite atu ana i a ia i runga i nga pukepuke: nana, he iwi noho ko ia anake, e kore ano hoki e taua i roto i nga tauiwi.
10 Who? has he counted [the] dust of Jacob and a number [the] fourth part of Israel let it die self my [the] death of upright [people] and let it be end my like his.
11 And he said Balak to Balaam what? have you done to me to curse enemies my I took you and here! you have blessed actually.
Na ka mea a Paraka, ki a Paraama, He aha tau e mea nei ki ahau? i tikina atu koe e ahau hei kanga i oku hoariri, na, kua manaakitia rawatia ratou e koe.
12 And he answered and he said ¿ not [that] which he will put Yahweh in mouth my it will I take care to speak.
13 And he said to him Balak (come there! *Q(K)*) please with me to a place another where you will see it from there only outskirt[s] its you will see and all of it not you will see and curse it for me from there.
Na ka mea a Paraka ki a ia, Tena, haere mai taua ki tetahi wahi ke atu, e kite ai koe i a ratou: ko to ratou pito tau e kite ai; e kore hoki koe e kite i a ratou katoa: a hei reira puaki ai i a koe taku kanga mo ratou.
14 And he took him [the] field of Zophim to [the] top of Pisgah and he built seven altars and he offered up a young bull and a ram on the altar.
15 And he said to Balak take your stand thus with burnt offering your and I I will meet thus.
16 And he met Yahweh Balaam and he put a word in mouth his and he said return to Balak and thus you will speak.
17 And he went to him and there he [was] standing with burnt offering his and [the] leaders of Moab [were] with him and he said to him Balak what? has he spoken Yahweh.
18 And he lifted up oracle his and he said arise O Balak and hear give ear! to me [O] son his Zippor.
19 Not [is] a human God so he may lie and a son of humankind so he may change his mind ¿ he has he said and not will he act? and has he spoken? and not will he fulfill? it.
Ehara te Atua i te tangata e teka ai; i te tama ranei a te tangata e puta ke ai ona whakaaro. Tera ranei ia e korero, a kore ake e mahi? e puaki ranei tana kupu, a kahore e mana?
20 Here! [surely] blessing I have received and he has blessed and not I will turn back it.
Nana, kua riro mai i ahau te kupu manaaki; kua oti hoki i a ia te kupu manaaki; a e kore e taea e ahau te whakaputa ke.
21 Not he has looked at disaster in Jacob and not he has seen trouble in Israel Yahweh God his [is] with him and a shout of a king [is] among him.
Kahore i tirohia e ia he kino i a Hakopa, kahore ano hoki i kitea he tutu i a Iharaira: kei a ia a Ihowa, tona Atua, kei roto hoki i a ratou te hamama a te kingi.
22 God [is] bringing out them from Egypt like [the] horns of a wild ox [belong] to him.
Na Ihowa ratou i whakaputa mai i Ihipa; kei te te unikanga tona kaha.
23 For not enchantment [is] in Jacob and not divination [is] in Israel about this time it will be said of Jacob and of Israel what! has he done God.
He pono kahore he makutu mo Hakopa, kahore ano hoki he whaiwhaia mo Iharaira: hei tenei wa ano ka korerotia a Hakopa, ae ra, a Iharaira, ano te mahi a te Atua!
24 There! a people like a lion it rises and like a lion it lifts itself up not it will lie down until it will devour prey and [the] blood of [those] slain it will drink.
Nana, ka whakatika te iwi ano he raiona katua, ka ara ake ano hoki ano he raiona: e kore e takoto, kia kainga ra ano te tupapaku, kia inumia hoki nga toto o te parekura.
25 And he said Balak to Balaam neither at all not you will curse it nor at all not you will bless it.
Na ka mea a Paraka ki a Paraama, Kaua rawa e kanga i a ratou, kaua rawa ranei e manaaki i a ratou.
26 And he answered Balaam and he said to Balak ¿ not did I speak to you saying all that he will speak Yahweh it I will do.
Na ka whakautua e Paraama, ka mea ki a Paraka, Kahore ianei ahau i korero ki a koe, i mea, Ko nga mea katoa e korero mai ai a Ihowa, ko tena taku e mea ai?
27 And he said Balak to Balaam come! please let me take you to a place another perhaps it will be pleasing in [the] eyes of God and you will curse it for me from there.
Na ka mea a Paraka ki a Paraama, Tena, me kawe koe e ahau ki tetahi atu wahi; tera pea e pai te Atua kia whakapuakina e koe i reira taku kanga mo ratou.
28 And he took Balak Balaam [the] top of Peor which looks down over [the] face of the desolate place.
29 And he said Balaam to Balak build for me in this [place] seven altars and prepare for me in this [place] seven young bulls and seven rams.
A ka mea a Paraama ki a Paraka, hanga he aata maku ki konei kia whitu, kia rite hoki maku ki konei he puru kia whitu, he hipi toa kia whitu.
30 And he did Balak just as he had said Balaam and he offered up a young bull and a ram on the altar.
A rite tonu ta Paraka i mea ai ki nga mea i korerotia e Paraama, a whakaekea ana e ia he puru, he hipi, ki runga ki tenei aata, ki tenei aata.
