Numbers 17
1 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
Jahweh sprak tot Moses:
2 Speak - to [the] people of Israel and take from with them a rod a rod for [the] house of an ancestor from with all leaders their to [the] house of ancestors their two [plus] ten rods each name his you will write on rod his.
Beveel de Israëlieten de staf van al hun stamvorsten te brengen, van elke stam één, dus twaalf staven. Schrijf ieders naam op zijn staf.
3 And [the] name of Aaron you will write on [the] rod of Levi for a rod one [is] for [the] head of [the] house of ancestors their.
Maar op de staf van Levi moet ge de naam van Aäron schrijven; want ook voor hun stamhoofd moet er een staf zijn.
4 And you will deposit them in [the] tent of meeting before the testimony where I meet you there.
Leg ze dan in de openbaringstent voor de verbondstafelen neer, waar Ik Mij aan u openbaar.
5 And it will be the man whom I will choose him rod his it will bud and I will put an end to from on me [the] grumblings of [the] people of Israel which they [are] grumbling on you.
De staf van den man, dien Ik uitkies, zal gaan bloeien. Zo zal Ik het gemor van de Israëlieten tegen u tot zwijgen brengen.
6 And he spoke Moses to [the] people of Israel and they gave to him - all leaders their a rod for a leader one a rod for a leader one to [the] house of ancestors their two [plus] ten rods and [the] rod of Aaron [was] in among rods their.
Moses bracht het aan de Israëlieten over, en al hun stamhoofden gaven hem ieder een staf; dus twaalf staven, voor iedere stam één; ook de staf van Aäron bevond zich daarbij.
7 And he deposited Moses the rods before Yahweh in [the] tent of the testimony.
Moses legde die staven voor het aanschijn van Jahweh in de openbaringstent neer.
8 And it was from [the] next day and he went Moses into [the] tent of the testimony and there! it had budded [the] rod of Aaron of [the] house of Levi and it had put forth bud[s] and it had blossomed blossom and it had ripened almonds.
Toen Moses de volgende dag in de verbondstent kwam: waarachtig, daar was de staf van Aäron, die aan de stam van Levi behoorde, gaan bloeien; hij had knoppen en bloesem en droeg rijpe amandelen.
9 And he brought out Moses all the rods from to before Yahweh to all [the] people of Israel and they saw and they took each one rod his.
Moses nam al de staven voor het aanschijn van Jahweh weg, en bracht ze naar alle Israëlieten; deze zagen het ook, en iedereen nam zijn eigen staf terug.
10 And he said Yahweh to Moses put back [the] rod of Aaron before the testimony for keeping for a sign for [the] sons of rebellion and may you put an end to grumblings their from on me and not they will die.
Toen sprak Jahweh tot Moses: Leg de staf van Aäron weer voor de verbondstafelen neer, om hem te bewaren als een waarschuwing voor de weerspannigen, en maak daarmee een eind aan hun morren, opdat zij niet sterven.
11 And he did Moses just as he had commanded Yahweh him so he did.
En Moses deed, wat Jahweh hem bevolen had.
12 And they said [the] people of Israel to Moses saying here! we will die we will perish all of us (we will perish. *LAB(h)*)
Maar nu zeiden de Israëlieten tot Moses: Ach, wij sterven, wij gaan te gronde, wij komen allemaal om!
13 Every [person] approaching - [person] approaching to [the] tabernacle of Yahweh he will die ¿ or will we complete to die.
Want iedereen sterft, die tot de tabernakel van Jahweh nadert! Moeten wij dan allen sterven?
