Numbers 13
1 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
Waaqayyo Museedhaan akkana jedhe;
2 Send for yourself men so they may spy out [the] land of Canaan which I [am] about to give to [the] people of Israel a man one a man one for [the] tribe of ancestors his you will send every [one] a leader among them.
“Akka isaan dhaqanii biyya Kanaʼaan ishee ani Israaʼelootaaf kennuuf jiru sana basaasaniif namoota ergi. Tokkoo tokkoo abbootii gosaa keessaa hoogganaa tokko ergi.”
3 And he sent them Moses from [the] wilderness of Paran on [the] mouth of Yahweh all of them [were] men [who were] [the] heads of [the] people of Israel they.
Museen ajaja Waaqayyootiin Gammoojjii Phaaraan keessaa isaan erge. Hundi isaanii hooggantoota Israaʼelootaa turan.
4 And these [are] names their for [the] tribe of Reuben Shammua [the] son of Zaccur.
Maqaan isaanii kanneenii dha: Gosa Ruubeen keessaa Shamuuʼaa ilma Zakuur;
5 For [the] tribe of Simeon Shaphat [the] son of Hori.
gosa Simiʼoon keessaa Shaafaaxi ilma Hoorii;
6 For [the] tribe of Judah Caleb [the] son of Jephunneh.
gosa Yihuudaa keessaa Kaaleb ilma Yefunee;
7 For [the] tribe of Issachar Igal [the] son of Joseph.
gosa Yisaakor keessaa Yigiʼaal ilma Yoosef;
8 For [the] tribe of Ephraim Hoshea [the] son of Nun.
gosa Efreem keessaa Hoosheeʼaa ilma Nuuni;
9 For [the] tribe of Benjamin Palti [the] son of Raphu.
gosa Beniyaam keessaa Phaaltii ilma Raaphuu;
10 For [the] tribe of Zebulun Gaddiel [the] son of Sodi.
gosa Zebuuloon keessaa Gadiiʼeel ilma Soodii;
11 For [the] tribe of Joseph for [the] tribe of Manasseh Gaddi [the] son of Susi.
gosa Minaasee jechuunis gosa Yoosef keessaa Gadii ilma Suus;
12 For [the] tribe of Dan Ammiel [the] son of Gemalli.
gosa Daan keessaa Amiiʼeel ilma Gemaal;
13 For [the] tribe of Asher Sethur [the] son of Michael.
gosa Aasheer keessaa Sexuur ilma Miikaaʼel;
14 For [the] tribe of Naphtali Nahbi [the] son of Vopshi.
gosa Niftaalem keessaa Naahibii ilma Wofsii;
15 For [the] tribe of Gad Geuel [the] son of Maki.
gosa Gaad keessaa Geʼuuʼeel ilma Maakii ti.
16 These [are] [the] names of the men whom he sent Moses to spy out the land and he called Moses Hoshea [the] son of Nun Joshua.
Egaa maqaawwan kunneen maqaawwan namoota akka isaan biyya sana basaasaniif jedhee Museen ergee dha. Museenis Hoosheeʼaa ilma Nuuni sana, “Iyyaasuu” jedhee moggaase.
17 And he sent them Moses to spy out [the] land of Canaan and he said to them go up this in the Negev and you will go up the hill country.
Museen yommuu akka isaan biyya Kanaʼaanii basaasaniif isaan ergetti akkana jedheen; “Karaa Negeeb darbaatii gara biyya gaaraatti ol baʼaa.
18 And you will see the land what? [is] it and the people which dwells on it ¿ strong [is] it ¿ feeble ¿ few [is] it or? many.
Biyyi sun maal akka fakkaattu, namoonni achi jiraatanis jajjaboo yookaan dadhaboo, muraasa yookaan hedduu taʼuu isaanii ilaalaa.
19 And what? [is] the land which it [is] dwelling in it ¿ good [is] it or? bad and what? [are] the cities which it [is] dwelling in them ¿ in camps or? in fortresses.
Isaan biyya akkamii keessa jiraatu? Gaarii yookaan gadhee? Magaalaawwan akkamii keessa jiraatu? Dallaa dhagaa hin qaban moo daʼoo jabaa qabu?
20 And what? [is] the land ¿ fat [is] it or? lean ¿ [is] there in it wood or? not and you will show yourselves strong and you will take some of [the] fruit of the land and the days [were the] days of [the] first-fruits of grapes.
Lafti isaa gabbataa dha moo gabbataa miti? Muka qaba moo hin qabu. Jabaadhaatii ija biyyattii keessaa muraasa fidaa.” Waqtiin sun yeroo iji wayinii kan jalqabaa itti bilchaatu ture.
21 And they went up and they spied out the land from [the] wilderness of Zin to Rehob Lebo Hamath.
Isaan ol baʼanii Gammoojjii Siin irraa jalqabanii hamma Rehoobitti gara Leeboo Hamaatitti biyyattii basaasan.
22 And they went up in the Negev and he came to Hebron and [were] there Ahiman Sheshai and Talmai those born of Anak and Hebron seven years it was built before Zoan Egypt.
Isaanis karaa Negeeb ol baʼanii gara Kebroon lafa Ahiiman, Sheeshaayii fi Talmaayi ilmaan Anaaq sun jiraataniitti dhufan. Kebroon kunis utuu Zooʼaan isheen biyya Gibxi sun hin ijaaramin waggaa torbaan dura ijaaramte.
23 And they came to [the] wadi of Eshcol and they cut down from there a branch and a cluster of grapes one and they carried it on the pole two and some of the pomegranates and some of the figs.
Isaanis yommuu Sulula Eshkool gaʼanitti hurbuu ija wayinii tokko kutan. Wayinii sanas roomaanii fi harbuu wajjin nama lama taʼanii danqaraadhaan baatan.
24 the Place that someone called [the] wadi of Eshcol on [the] causes of the cluster which they cut down from there [the] people of Israel.
Iddoon sun sababii hurbuu ija wayinii kan warri Israaʼel kutan sanaatiif Sulula Eshkool jedhame.
25 And they returned from spying out the land from [the] end of forty day[s].
Jarris dhuma bultii afurtamaatti biyya sana basaasanii deebiʼan.
26 And they went and they came to Moses and to Aaron and to all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel to [the] wilderness of Paran Kadesh towards and they brought back them word and all the congregation and they showed them [the] fruit of the land.
Isaanis gara Qaadesh ishee Gammoojjii Phaaraan keessaa gara Musee fi Aroon, gara waldaa Israaʼel guutuu deebiʼanii dhufan. Achittis gabaasa isaaniif dhiʼeessan; ija biyyattiis isaan argisiisan.
27 And they recounted to him and they said we went into the land which you sent us and also [is] flowing of milk and honey it and this [is] fruit its.
Isaanis akkana jedhanii Museetti himan: “Nu gara biyya ati itti nu ergite sanaa dhaqneerra; biyyattiin aannanii fi damma baafti! Iji ishees kunoo kana.
28 Nevertheless for [is] strong the people which dwells in the land and the cities [are] fortified large very and also those born of Anak we saw there.
Garuu namoonni achi jiraatan jajjaboo dha; magaalaawwan ishee dallaa jabaa qabu; gurguddaa dhas. Nu sanyii Anaaq iyyuu achitti argineerra.
29 Amalek [is] dwelling in [the] land of the Negev and the Hittite[s] and the Jebusite[s] and the Amorite[s] [is] dwelling in the hill country and the Canaanite[s] [is] dwelling at the sea and on [the] side of the Jordan.
Amaaleqoonni Negeeb keessa jiraatu; Heetonni, Yebuusonnii fi Amooronni biyya gaaraa keessa jiraatu; Kanaʼaanonni immoo galaana biraa fi qarqara Yordaanos jiraatu.”
30 And he silenced Caleb the people to Moses and he said certainly we will go up and we will take possession of it for certainly we will prevail to it.
Kaalebis fuula Musee duratti saba calʼisiisee, “Nu dafnee ol baanee biyyattii haa dhaallu; moʼachuu ni dandeenyaatii” jedhe.
31 And the men who they had gone up with him they said not we are able to go up against the people for [is] strong it more than us.
Namoonni isa wajjin ol baʼanii turan garuu, “Nu warra sana dhaʼuu hin dandeenyu; isaan nurra jajjaboo dha” jedhan.
32 And they brought out bad report of the land which they had spied out it to [the] people of Israel saying the land which we passed in it to spy out it [is] a land [which] devours inhabitants its it and all the people which we saw in [the] midst of it [were] men of stature.
Isaanis waaʼee biyya basaasan sanaa saba Israaʼel gidduutti oduu gadhee tamsaasan. Akkanas jedhan; “Biyyi nu basaasne sun biyya warra ishee keessa jiraatu iyyuu nyaattuu dha. Namoonni nu achitti argine hundinuu dhedheeroo dha.
33 And there we saw the Nephilim [the] descendants of Anak [were] from the Nephilim and we were in own eyes our like grasshoppers and thus we were in view their.
Achitti Nefiiliimota argine; ilmaan Anaaq Nefiiliimota irraa dhufan. Nu ofuma keenyatti iyyuu korophisa fakkaanne; fuula isaanii durattis akkasuma taane.”
