Numbers 13
1 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
INkosi yasikhuluma kuMozisi isithi:
2 Send for yourself men so they may spy out [the] land of Canaan which I [am] about to give to [the] people of Israel a man one a man one for [the] tribe of ancestors his you will send every [one] a leader among them.
Zithumele amadoda ukuthi ahlole ilizwe leKhanani engibapha lona abantwana bakoIsrayeli; uthume indoda eyodwa yaleso lalesosizwe saboyise, yonke eyinduna phakathi kwabo.
3 And he sent them Moses from [the] wilderness of Paran on [the] mouth of Yahweh all of them [were] men [who were] [the] heads of [the] people of Israel they.
UMozisi wawathuma-ke esuka enkangala yeParani, ngokomlayo weNkosi; wonke lawomadoda ayezinhloko zabantwana bakoIsrayeli.
4 And these [are] names their for [the] tribe of Reuben Shammua [the] son of Zaccur.
Lala ngamabizo awo; owesizwe sakoRubeni, uShamuwa indodana kaZakuri.
5 For [the] tribe of Simeon Shaphat [the] son of Hori.
Owesizwe sakoSimeyoni, uShafati indodana kaHori.
6 For [the] tribe of Judah Caleb [the] son of Jephunneh.
Owesizwe sakoJuda, uKalebi indodana kaJefune.
7 For [the] tribe of Issachar Igal [the] son of Joseph.
Owesizwe sakoIsakari, uIgali indodana kaJosefa.
8 For [the] tribe of Ephraim Hoshea [the] son of Nun.
Owesizwe sakoEfrayimi, uHoseya indodana kaNuni.
9 For [the] tribe of Benjamin Palti [the] son of Raphu.
Owesizwe sakoBhenjamini, uPaliti indodana kaRafu.
10 For [the] tribe of Zebulun Gaddiel [the] son of Sodi.
Owesizwe sakoZebuluni, uGadiyeli indodana kaSodi.
11 For [the] tribe of Joseph for [the] tribe of Manasseh Gaddi [the] son of Susi.
Owesizwe sakoJosefa, owesizwe sakoManase, uGadi indodana kaSusi.
12 For [the] tribe of Dan Ammiel [the] son of Gemalli.
Owesizwe sakoDani, uAmiyeli indodana kaGemali.
13 For [the] tribe of Asher Sethur [the] son of Michael.
Owesizwe sakoAsheri, uSethuri indodana kaMikayeli.
14 For [the] tribe of Naphtali Nahbi [the] son of Vopshi.
Owesizwe sakoNafithali, uNabi indodana kaVofisi.
15 For [the] tribe of Gad Geuel [the] son of Maki.
Owesizwe sakoGadi, uGewuweli indodana kaMaki.
16 These [are] [the] names of the men whom he sent Moses to spy out the land and he called Moses Hoshea [the] son of Nun Joshua.
La ngamabizo amadoda uMozisi awathumayo ukuhlola ilizwe. UMozisi wasembiza uHoseya indodana kaNuni ngokuthi nguJoshuwa.
17 And he sent them Moses to spy out [the] land of Canaan and he said to them go up this in the Negev and you will go up the hill country.
UMozisi wasewathuma ukuhlola ilizwe leKhanani, wathi kuwo: Yenyukani lapha liye eningizimu, lenyukele entabeni,
18 And you will see the land what? [is] it and the people which dwells on it ¿ strong [is] it ¿ feeble ¿ few [is] it or? many.
libone ilizwe ukuthi linjani, labantu abakhileyo kulo ukuthi balamandla kumbe babuthakathaka, balutshwana kumbe banengi yini,
19 And what? [is] the land which it [is] dwelling in it ¿ good [is] it or? bad and what? [are] the cities which it [is] dwelling in them ¿ in camps or? in fortresses.
lokuthi linjani ilizwe abahlala kulo, loba lihle loba libi, lokuthi injani imizi abahlala kiyo, loba izinkamba loba izinqaba,
20 And what? [is] the land ¿ fat [is] it or? lean ¿ [is] there in it wood or? not and you will show yourselves strong and you will take some of [the] fruit of the land and the days [were the] days of [the] first-fruits of grapes.

21 And they went up and they spied out the land from [the] wilderness of Zin to Rehob Lebo Hamath.
Basebesenyuka, balihlola ilizwe kusukela enkangala yeZini kuze kube seRehobi, ekungeneni eHamathi.
22 And they went up in the Negev and he came to Hebron and [were] there Ahiman Sheshai and Talmai those born of Anak and Hebron seven years it was built before Zoan Egypt.
Benyuka-ke ngeningizimu bafika eHebroni, lapho kwakulaboAhimani, uSheshayi, loTalimayi, abantwana bakaAnaki. IHebroni lakhiwa-ke iminyaka eyisikhombisa kungakabi leZowani eGibhithe.
23 And they came to [the] wadi of Eshcol and they cut down from there a branch and a cluster of grapes one and they carried it on the pole two and some of the pomegranates and some of the figs.
Basebefika esihotsheni seEshikoli; baquma khona ugatsha olulehlukuzo elilodwa lezithelo zevini, baluthwalisana ngesigodo ngababili, lokwamapomegranati lokwemikhiwa.
24 the Place that someone called [the] wadi of Eshcol on [the] causes of the cluster which they cut down from there [the] people of Israel.
Leyondawo kwathiwa yisihotsha seEshikoli, ngenxa yehlukuzo abantwana bakoIsrayeli abaliqumayo lapho.
25 And they returned from spying out the land from [the] end of forty day[s].
Basebebuya bevela ekuhloleni ilizwe ekupheleni kwensuku ezingamatshumi amane.
26 And they went and they came to Moses and to Aaron and to all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel to [the] wilderness of Paran Kadesh towards and they brought back them word and all the congregation and they showed them [the] fruit of the land.
Basebehamba bafika kuMozisi lakuAroni lakunhlangano yonke yabantwana bakoIsrayeli enkangala yeParani, eKadeshi; basebebuyisela umbiko kubo lakunhlangano yonke, basebebatshengisa isithelo selizwe.
27 And they recounted to him and they said we went into the land which you sent us and also [is] flowing of milk and honey it and this [is] fruit its.
Basebembikela bathi: Safika elizweni owasithuma kulo; njalo ngeqiniso, ligeleza uchago loluju; lalesi yisithelo salo.
28 Nevertheless for [is] strong the people which dwells in the land and the cities [are] fortified large very and also those born of Anak we saw there.
Kodwa-ke abantu abahlala elizweni balamandla, lemizi ibiyelwe ngemithangala, mikhulu kakhulu; njalo-ke sibone khona inzalo kaAnaki.
29 Amalek [is] dwelling in [the] land of the Negev and the Hittite[s] and the Jebusite[s] and the Amorite[s] [is] dwelling in the hill country and the Canaanite[s] [is] dwelling at the sea and on [the] side of the Jordan.
AmaAmaleki akhile elizweni leningizimu; lamaHethi lamaJebusi lamaAmori akhile entabeni; lamaKhanani akhile elwandle leceleni kweJordani.
30 And he silenced Caleb the people to Moses and he said certainly we will go up and we will take possession of it for certainly we will prevail to it.
UKalebi wasethulisa abantu phambi kukaMozisi, wathi: Asenyukeni lokwenyuka, sidle ilifa lalo, ngoba silamandla okulinqoba.
31 And the men who they had gone up with him they said not we are able to go up against the people for [is] strong it more than us.
Kodwa amadoda ayenyuke laye athi: Kasilamandla okwenyukela kulabobantu, ngoba balamandla kulathi.
32 And they brought out bad report of the land which they had spied out it to [the] people of Israel saying the land which we passed in it to spy out it [is] a land [which] devours inhabitants its it and all the people which we saw in [the] midst of it [were] men of stature.
Basebeveza umbiko omubi ngelizwe ababelihlolile ebantwaneni bakoIsrayeli besithi: Ilizwe esidabule kulo ukulihlola yilizwe elidla abantu abahlala kulo; labantu bonke esababona phakathi kwalo bangamadoda amade kakhulu.
33 And there we saw the Nephilim [the] descendants of Anak [were] from the Nephilim and we were in own eyes our like grasshoppers and thus we were in view their.
Lalapho sibone iziqhwaga, amadodana kaAnaki, avela eziqhwageni. Lemehlweni ethu sasinjengentethe, sasinjalo lemehlweni azo.
