Numbers 13
1 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
HERREN talede fremdeles til Moses og sagde:
2 Send for yourself men so they may spy out [the] land of Canaan which I [am] about to give to [the] people of Israel a man one a man one for [the] tribe of ancestors his you will send every [one] a leader among them.
»Send nogle Mænd af Sted for at undersøge Kana'ans Land, som jeg vil give Israeliterne; een Mand af hver Fædrenestamme skal I sende, og kun Mænd, der er Øverster iblandt dem!«
3 And he sent them Moses from [the] wilderness of Paran on [the] mouth of Yahweh all of them [were] men [who were] [the] heads of [the] people of Israel they.
Da udsendte Moses dem fra Parans Ørken paa HERRENS Bud, Mænd, der alle var Overhoveder for Israeliterne.
4 And these [are] names their for [the] tribe of Reuben Shammua [the] son of Zaccur.
Deres Navne var følgende: Af Rubens Stamme Sjammua, Zakkurs Søn,
5 For [the] tribe of Simeon Shaphat [the] son of Hori.
af Simeons Stamme Sjafat, Horis Søn,
6 For [the] tribe of Judah Caleb [the] son of Jephunneh.
af Judas Stamme Kaleb, Jefunnes Søn,
7 For [the] tribe of Issachar Igal [the] son of Joseph.

8 For [the] tribe of Ephraim Hoshea [the] son of Nun.
af Efraims Stamme Hosea, Nuns Søn,
9 For [the] tribe of Benjamin Palti [the] son of Raphu.

10 For [the] tribe of Zebulun Gaddiel [the] son of Sodi.

11 For [the] tribe of Joseph for [the] tribe of Manasseh Gaddi [the] son of Susi.

16 These [are] [the] names of the men whom he sent Moses to spy out the land and he called Moses Hoshea [the] son of Nun Joshua.
Det var Navnene paa de Mænd, Moses udsendte for at undersøge Landet. Men Moses gav Hosea, Nuns Søn, Navnet Josua.
17 And he sent them Moses to spy out [the] land of Canaan and he said to them go up this in the Negev and you will go up the hill country.
Og Moses sendte dem af Sted for at undersøge Kana'ans Land. Og han sagde til dem: »Drag herfra op i Sydlandet og drag op i Bjergene
18 And you will see the land what? [is] it and the people which dwells on it ¿ strong [is] it ¿ feeble ¿ few [is] it or? many.
og se, hvordan Landet er, og om Folket, som bor der, er stærkt eller svagt, faatalligt eller talrigt,
19 And what? [is] the land which it [is] dwelling in it ¿ good [is] it or? bad and what? [are] the cities which it [is] dwelling in them ¿ in camps or? in fortresses.
om Landet, de bor i, er godt eller daarligt, og om Byerne, de bor i, er Teltlejre eller Fæstninger,
20 And what? [is] the land ¿ fat [is] it or? lean ¿ [is] there in it wood or? not and you will show yourselves strong and you will take some of [the] fruit of the land and the days [were the] days of [the] first-fruits of grapes.
og om Landet er fedt eller magert, om der findes Træer deri eller ej. Vær ved godt Mod og tag noget af Landets Frugt med tilbage!« Det var netop ved den Tid, de første Druer var modne.
21 And they went up and they spied out the land from [the] wilderness of Zin to Rehob Lebo Hamath.
Saa drog de af Sted og undersøgte Landet lige fra Zins Ørken til Rehob, Egnen hen imod Hamat.
22 And they went up in the Negev and he came to Hebron and [were] there Ahiman Sheshai and Talmai those born of Anak and Hebron seven years it was built before Zoan Egypt.
Saa begav de sig op i Sydlandet og kom til Hebron; der boede Ahiman, Sjesjaj og Talmaj, Anaks Efterkommere. Men Hebron var grundlagt syv Aar før Zoan i Ægypten.
23 And they came to [the] wadi of Eshcol and they cut down from there a branch and a cluster of grapes one and they carried it on the pole two and some of the pomegranates and some of the figs.
Da de naaede Esjkoldalen, afskar de en Ranke med en Drueklase, som der maatte to Mand til at bære paa en Bærestang, og plukkede nogle Granatæbler og Figener.
24 the Place that someone called [the] wadi of Eshcol on [the] causes of the cluster which they cut down from there [the] people of Israel.
Man kaldte dette Sted Esjkoldalen med Hentydning til den Drueklase, Israeliterne der skar af.
25 And they returned from spying out the land from [the] end of forty day[s].
Efter fyrretyve Dages Forløb vendte de tilbage efter at have undersøgt Landet;
26 And they went and they came to Moses and to Aaron and to all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel to [the] wilderness of Paran Kadesh towards and they brought back them word and all the congregation and they showed them [the] fruit of the land.
og de kom til Moses og Aron og hele Israeliternes Menighed i Parans Ørken i Kadesj og aflagde Beretning for dem og hele Menigheden og viste dem Landets Frugt.
27 And they recounted to him and they said we went into the land which you sent us and also [is] flowing of milk and honey it and this [is] fruit its.
De fortalte ham: »Vi kom til Landet, du sendte os til; det er virkelig et Land, der flyder med Mælk og Honning, og her er Flugt derfra;
28 Nevertheless for [is] strong the people which dwells in the land and the cities [are] fortified large very and also those born of Anak we saw there.
men stærkt er Folket, som bor i Landet, og Byerne er befæstede og meget store; ja, vi saa ogsaa Efterkommere af Anak der.
29 Amalek [is] dwelling in [the] land of the Negev and the Hittite[s] and the Jebusite[s] and the Amorite[s] [is] dwelling in the hill country and the Canaanite[s] [is] dwelling at the sea and on [the] side of the Jordan.
Amalek bor i Sydlandet, Hetiterne, Jebusiterne og Amoriterne i Bjerglandet og Kana'anæerne ved Havet og langs Jordan.«
30 And he silenced Caleb the people to Moses and he said certainly we will go up and we will take possession of it for certainly we will prevail to it.
Da søgte Kaleb at bringe Folket til Tavshed over for Moses og sagde: »Lad os kun drage op og underlægge os det, thi vi kan sikkert tage det!«
31 And the men who they had gone up with him they said not we are able to go up against the people for [is] strong it more than us.
Men de Mænd, der havde været med ham deroppe, sagde: »Vi kan ikke drage op imod dette Folk, thi det er stærkere end vi!«
32 And they brought out bad report of the land which they had spied out it to [the] people of Israel saying the land which we passed in it to spy out it [is] a land [which] devours inhabitants its it and all the people which we saw in [the] midst of it [were] men of stature.
Og de talte nedsættende til Israeliterne om Landet, som de havde undersøgt, og sagde: »Landet, som vi har rejst igennem og undersøgt, er et Land, der fortærer sine Indbyggere, og alle de Folk, vi saa der, var kæmpestore.
33 And there we saw the Nephilim [the] descendants of Anak [were] from the Nephilim and we were in own eyes our like grasshoppers and thus we were in view their.
Vi saa der Kæmperne — Anaks Sønner, der er af Kæmpeslægten — og vi forekom baade os selv og dem som Græshopper!«
