Nehemiah 13
1 On the day that it was read aloud in [the] scroll of Moses in [the] ears of the people and it was found written in it that not he will come an Ammonite and a Moabite in [the] assembly of God until perpetuity.
Hari itu, ketika kitab Taurat dibacakan kepada rakyat, mereka mendapati peraturan bahwa orang bangsa Amon dan Moab sama sekali tidak diizinkan untuk bergabung dalam perkumpulan penting umat Allah,
2 For not they had met [the] people of Israel with food and with water and he had hired on it Balaam to curse it and he turned God our the curse into blessing.
karena kedua bangsa itu tidak memberi makanan dan air kepada bangsa Israel dalam perjalanan mereka keluar dari Mesir, malahan membayar Bileam untuk mengutuk Israel. Namun, Allah kita mengubah kutukan itu menjadi berkat.
3 And it was when heard they the law and they separated every person of mixed ancestry from Israel.
Ketika bangsa Israel mendengar peraturan itu, mereka melarang semua orang keturunan campuran mengikuti segala perkumpulan penting umat Israel.
4 And before from this Eliashib the priest [was] appointed over [the] store-room of [the] house of God our [one] near to Tobiah.
Imam Elyasib, yang bertanggung jawab atas ruang-ruang penyimpanan di rumah TUHAN, sudah lama menjadi saudara ipar Tobia. Lalu pada tahun ketiga puluh dua pemerintahan Raja Artasasta, saya kembali ke istana raja di Babel untuk melapor kepadanya. Sementara saya di sana, Elyasib mengizinkan Tobia menggunakan sebuah ruangan besar yang sebenarnya hanya boleh dipakai sebagai gudang tempat persembahan gandum-ganduman, kemenyan, perlengkapan rumah TUHAN, dan perpuluhan dari hasil panen, air anggur, serta minyak zaitun. Semua itu untuk persediaan para pelayan dari suku Lewi, yaitu para imam, pemain musik, dan penjaga rumah TUHAN. Setelah beberapa waktu di istana saya mendapat izin raja untuk kembali,
5 And he made for him a room large and there people were before putting the grain offering the frankincense and the utensils and [the] tithe of the grain the new wine and the fresh oil [the] commandment of the Levites and the singers and the gatekeepers and [the] contribution of the priests.
6 And in all this not I was in Jerusalem for in year thirty and two of Artaxerxes [the] king of Babylon I had gone to the king and to [the] end of days I requested leave of absence from the king.
7 And I came to Jerusalem and I perceived! the evil thing which he had done Eliashib for Tobiah by making for him a room in [the] courtyards of [the] house of God.
dan sewaktu tiba di Yerusalem, saya mendapati Elyasib sudah mengizinkan Tobia menggunakan ruangan besar itu! Hal itu melanggar kesucian rumah TUHAN!
8 And it was displeasing to me exceedingly and I threw! all [the] articles of [the] household of Tobiah the outside from the room.
Maka saya sangat marah dan melemparkan semua barang Tobia keluar.
9 And I said! and people purified the store-rooms and I brought back! there [the] utensils of [the] house of God the grain offering and the frankincense.
Saya memberi perintah supaya setiap ruang yang disalahgunakan seperti itu harus dibersihkan dengan upacara penyucian. Lalu saya memerintahkan supaya seluruh perlengkapan rumah TUHAN, persembahan gandum-ganduman, dan kemenyan dikembalikan ke sana.
10 And I perceived! that [the] portions of the Levites not it had been given and they had fled each one to own field his the Levites and the singers [who] did the work.
Saya juga mendapati bahwa para pemain musik dan orang-orang Lewi lainnya yang bertugas di rumah TUHAN sudah meninggalkan Yerusalem dan bekerja kembali di ladang mereka masing-masing karena tidak menerima tunjangan yang menjadi hak mereka.
11 And I contended! with the officials and I said! why? has it been neglected [the] house of God and I assembled them and I made stand them at place their.
Karena itu saya menegur para pejabat, “Kalian sudah menelantarkan rumah TUHAN!” Lalu saya memanggil kembali orang-orang Lewi dan para pemain musik untuk bekerja lagi di rumah TUHAN sesuai tugas mereka semula.
12 And all Judah they brought [the] tithe of the grain and the new wine and the fresh oil to the storerooms.
Kemudian semua orang Yehuda kembali membawa persembahan ke rumah TUHAN, yaitu perpuluhan dari hasil panen gandum, pemerasan anggur, dan minyak zaitun.
13 And I appointed as treasurers! over [the] storerooms Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe and Pedaiah one of the Levites and [was] on hand their Hanan [the] son of Zaccur [the] son of Mattaniah for reliable they were thought and [was] on them to distribute to brothers their.
Lalu saya mengangkat beberapa orang yang dapat dipercaya sebagai bendahara yang bertanggung jawab atas gudang-gudang penyimpanan, yaitu Imam Selemya, Zadok ahli hukum Allah, dan seorang Lewi bernama Pedaya. Hanan anak Zakur, cucu Matanya, menjadi wakil mereka. Tugas mereka adalah mengawasi dan mencatat pembagian tunjangan bagi para pekerja.
14 Remember! to me O God my on this and may not you wipe out loyalti my which I have done in [the] house of God my and in services its.
Saya berdoa, “Ya Allahku, ingatlah segala usaha yang sudah aku lakukan untuk memperbaiki rumah-Mu demi kelancaran semua kegiatan ibadahnya. Tetaplah berkenan kepadaku.”
15 In the days those I saw in Judah - [some who] trod winepresses - on the sabbath and [some who] brought heaps of grain and [some who] loaded [them] on donkeys and also wine grapes and figs and every load and [some who] brought [them] Jerusalem on [the] day of the sabbath and I protested on [the] day sold they food.
Suatu kali, saya melihat beberapa orang di Yehuda memeras anggur pada hari Sabat. Ada juga yang memuati keledai mereka dengan gandum, jelai, buah anggur, minuman anggur, buah ara, serta barang-barang lainnya. Mereka hendak menjualnya di Yerusalem. Saya pun menegur mereka agar tidak berdagang pada hari Sabat.
16 And the Tyrians [who] they dwelt in it [were] bringing fish and every merchandise and [were] selling [it] on the sabbath to [the] people of Judah and in Jerusalem.
Orang-orang dari kota Tirus yang tinggal di Yerusalem juga membawa ikan dan berbagai jenis barang ke dalam kota untuk dijual kepada orang-orang Yahudi pada hari Sabat.
17 And I contended! with [the] nobles of Judah and I said! to them what? [is] the thing evil this which you [are] doing and [are] profaning [the] day of the sabbath.
Maka saya menegur keras para pemimpin Yahudi yang membiarkan semua itu terjadi, “Perbuatanmu ini jahat! Kalian tidak menghormati kekudusan hari Sabat.
18 ¿ Not thus did they do ancestors your and he brought God our on us all the trouble this and on the city this and you [are] increasing anger toward Israel by profaning the sabbath.
Karena dosa seperti inilah Allah sudah menghukum nenek moyang kita dan menghancurkan kota ini. Sekarang kalian malah mengulang lagi dosa yang membuat Allah semakin marah terhadap Israel, yaitu menodai kesucian hari Sabat.”
19 And it was just when they became dark [the] gates of Jerusalem before the sabbath and I said! and they were closed the doors and I said! that not people will open them until after the sabbath and some of servants my I stationed at the gates not it will come a load on [the] day of the sabbath.
Lalu saya memberi perintah agar gerbang kota ditutup setiap menjelang Sabat, yaitu mulai Jumat petang, dan tidak boleh dibuka lagi sampai hari Sabat berakhir, yaitu Sabtu petang. Saya menempatkan beberapa pengawal saya untuk menjaga agar tidak ada barang dagangan apa pun yang dibawa ke dalam kota pada hari Sabat.
20 And they passed [the] night the traders and [the] sellers of every merchandise from [the] outside of Jerusalem a time and two [times].
Beberapa kali ada pedagang yang bermalam di luar tembok kota sejak hari Jumat, menunggu gerbang dibuka.
21 And I warned! them and I said! to them why? [are] you passing [the] night before the wall if you will do [it] again a hand I will stretch out on you from the time that not they came on the sabbath.
Saya memperingatkan mereka, “Tidak ada gunanya menunggu di luar sana sampai pagi. Jika kalian melakukan hal ini lagi, saya akan menghukum kalian dengan berat!” Sejak saat itu mereka tidak lagi datang pada hari Sabat.
22 And I said! to the Levites that they will be purifying themselves and coming guarding the gates to keep holy [the] day of the sabbath also this remember! to me O God my and have mercy! on me according to [the] greatness of covenant loyalty your.
Saya memerintahkan orang Lewi untuk menyucikan diri dan menjaga gerbang guna memastikan agar semua orang menghormati hari Sabat. Saya berdoa, “Ya Allah, ingatlah juga perbuatanku ini, dan kasihanilah aku menurut kasih dan kesetiaan-Mu yang besar itu.”
23 Also - in the days those I saw the Jews [who] they had married women (Ashdodite Ammonite *Q(k)*) Moabite.
Pada waktu itu, saya mendapati bahwa banyak laki-laki Yahudi sudah menikah dengan perempuan asing dari bangsa Amon, Moab, dan kota Asdod.
24 And children their half [were] speaking Ashdodite and not they [were] knowing to speak [in] Judean and according to [the] language of people and people.
Sebagian dari anak-anak mereka berbicara dalam bahasa Asdod atau bahasa asing lainnya, dan sama sekali tidak mengerti bahasa Ibrani.
25 And I contended with them and I cursed them and I struck some of them men and I pulled out beard their and I made take an oath them by God if you will give daughters your to sons their and if you will take any of daughters their for sons your and for yourselves.
Saya menegur orang-orang itu, mendoakan kutuk atas mereka sesuai dengan sumpah yang sudah kami sahkan. Saya juga memberi mereka hukuman pukul dan mencabuti sebagian rambut mereka sebagai lambang aib sosial. Kemudian saya menyuruh mereka bersumpah demi Allah agar mereka dan anak-anak mereka tidak pernah lagi menikah dengan orang asing.
26 ¿ Not on these did he sin Solomon [the] king of Israel and among the nations many not he was a king like him and loved by God his he was and he made him God king over all Israel also him they caused to sin the wives foreign.
Saya berkata kepada mereka, “Karena perbuatan seperti inilah Raja Salomo terjerumus ke dalam dosa! Dia raja yang sangat hebat di antara bangsa-bangsa, kesayangan Allah, raja pilihan Allah, tetapi tetap saja dia jatuh ke dalam dosa akibat menikahi para perempuan asing.
27 And to you ¿ is it heard to do all the evil great this to act unfaithfully against God our by marrying wives foreign.
Apakah kalian mau mengikuti contoh buruk itu dengan menikahi perempuan asing dan tidak menaati Allah kita?”
28 And one of [the] sons of Joiada [the] son of Eliashib the priest great [was] a son-in-law of Sanballat the Horonite and I drove away him from with me.
Salah satu putra Yoyada anak imam besar Elyasib juga menikah dengan anak perempuan Sanbalat, orang asing dari kota Bet Horon. Maka saya mengusir dia dari Yerusalem.
29 Remember! to them O God my on [the] defilement of the priesthood and [the] covenant of the priesthood and the Levites.
Saya berdoa, “Ingatlah, ya Tuhan, bahwa mereka sudah menajiskan jabatan imam dan melanggar sumpah para imam dan orang-orang Lewi.”
30 And I purified them from all foreignness and I assigned! duties to the priests and to the Levites each one in own work his.
Demikianlah saya menyingkirkan segala kenajisan bangsa asing dari para imam dan orang Lewi, kemudian menetapkan tanggung jawab bagi mereka agar semua melakukan tugasnya masing-masing.
31 And for [the] offering of the wood at times appointed and for the first-fruits remember! to me O God my for good.
Saya mengatur giliran menyediakan kayu bakar untuk kurban persembahan sesuai dengan waktu yang sudah ditentukan, dan menetapkan ketentuan untuk mempersembahkan hasil panen pertama. Dan akhirnya saya berdoa, “Ingatlah semua perbuatanku ini ya Tuhan, dan berkenanlah kepadaku.”
