Nahum 1
1 [the] oracle of Nineveh [the] document of [the] vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
Raajii waaʼee Nanawwee dubbatame. Kitaaba mulʼata Naahoom Elqooshicha.
2 [is] a God Jealous and avenging Yahweh [is] avenging Yahweh and a lord of rage [is] avenging Yahweh to opponents his and [is] maintaining he to enemies his.
Waaqayyo Waaqa hinaafuu fi Waaqa haaloo baʼuu dha; Waaqayyo haaloo ni baʼa; dheekkamsaanis guutameera. Waaqayyo diinota isaa haaloo ni baʼa; dheekkamsa isaas amajaajota isaatiif ni kuusa.
3 Yahweh [is] long of anger (and great of *Q(K)*) power and certainly not he will leave unpunished Yahweh [is] in storm-wind and in storm way his and [is] cloud [the] dust of feet his.
Waaqayyo dheekkamuuf hin jarjaru; humni isaa immoo guddaa dha; Waaqayyo nama balleessaa qabu utuu hin adabin hin dhiisu. Bubbee hamaa fi dhaʼaa galaanaa keessaas karaa qaba; duumessi immoo awwaara miilla isaa ti.
4 [he is] rebuking the Sea and he made dry it and all the rivers he dries up it withers Bashan and Carmel and [the] blossom of Lebanon it withers.
Inni galaanatti dheekkamee gogsa; akka lagni hundinuu gogu godha. Baashaanii fi Qarmeloos ni coollagu; daraaraa Libaanoonis ni harcaʼa.
5 Mountains they quake from him and the hills they melt and it lifted up the earth from before him and [the] world and all [those who] dwell in it.
Fuula isaa duratti tulluuwwan ni kirkiru; gaarranis baqanii badu. Iddoo inni jirutti lafti ni hollatti; addunyaa fi wanni addunyaa irra jiraatu hundi ni hollatu.
6 Before indignation his who? will he stand and who? will he endure at [the] burning of anger his rage his it is poured out like fire and the rocks they are pulled down from him.
Eenyutu dheekkamsa isaa dura dhaabachuu dandaʼa? Eenyutu dheekkamsa isaa sodaachisaa sana obsuu dandaʼa? Dheekkamsi isaa akkuma ibiddaa dhangalaʼa; fuula isaa duratti kattaawwan ni burkutaaʼu.
7 [is] good Yahweh a refuge in a day of trouble and [he is] knowing [those who] take refuge in him.
Waaqayyo gaarii dha; yeroo rakkinaattis daʼoo dha. Inni warra isa amanatan ni beeka;
8 And with a flood [which] passes over complete destruction he will make place its and enemies his he will pursue darkness.
Garuu inni lolaa jabaadhaan Nanawwee ni balleessa; amajaajota isaas ariʼee dukkanatti galcha.
9 Whatever you will plot! against Yahweh complete destruction he [will be] making not it will arise two times trouble.
Wanni isin Waaqayyootti yaaddan maali? inni guutumaan guutuutti ni balleessa; rakkoonis lammata hin dhufu.
10 For to thorns interwoven and like drink their drunkards they will be consumed like stubble dry full.
Isaan qoraattii keessatti xaxamanii daadhii wayinii isaaniitiin machaaʼu; akkuma cidii gogeetti gubatanii dhumu.
11 From you he has come out [one who] plots on Yahweh evil a counselor of worthlessness.
Yaa Nanawwee, namni Waaqayyotti hammina malatee waan hamaa karoorfatu si keessaa argameera.
12 Thus - he says Yahweh though complete and thus numerous and thus they will be cut down and he will pass away and I have afflicted you not I will afflict you again.
Waaqayyo akkana jedha: “Isaan jabinaa fi baayʼina yoo qabaatan iyyuu isaan ni barbadeeffamu; ni badus. Yaa Yihuudaa, ani yoon duraan si miidhee jiraadhe iyyuu, siʼachi si hin miidhu.
13 And now I will break yoke-bar his from on you and fetters your I will tear apart.
Ani amma waanjoo isaanii gurmuu keessan irraa nan cabsa; hudhaa kees sirraa nan kuta.”
14 And he has commanded on you Yahweh not it will be sown from name your again from [the] house of gods your I will cut off idol and molten image I will make grave your for you are insignificant.
Yaa Nanawwee, Waaqayyo akkana jedhee waaʼee kee ajaja kennee jira: “Ati sanyii maqaan kee ittiin waamamu hin qabaattu. Ani fakkiiwwan soofamanii fi waaqota tolfamoo baqfamanii tolfaman kanneen galmawwan waaqota keetii keessa jiran nan barbadeessa. Waan ati akka malee balfamaa taateef ani awwaala siif nan qopheessa.”
15 There! on the mountains [the] feet of [one who] bears news [one who] proclaims peace celebrate a festival O Judah festivals your pay vows your for not he will repeat again (to pass *Q(k)*) in you a worthless person all of him it will be cut off.
Kunoo, miilli nama oduu gaarii fidu, kan nagaa labsu tokkoo tulluuwwan irra jira! Yaa Yihuudaa, ayyaanota kee ayyaaneffadhu; wareega kees baafadhu. Siʼachi hamaan si hin weeraru; inni guutumaan guutuutti ni barbadeeffama.
