Nahum 2
1 He has come up [one who] scatters on face your guard [the] fortification watch [the] road strengthen [the] loins make strong strength exceedingly.
De verstrooier trekt tegen uw aangezicht op, bewaar de vesting; bezichtig den weg; sterk de lenden, versterk de kracht zeer.
2 For he will restore Yahweh [the] majesty of Jacob like [the] majesty of Israel for they have laid waste to them [those who] lay waste and branches their they have destroyed.
Want de HEERE heeft de hovaardij Jakobs afgewend, gelijk de hovaardij Israels; want de ledigmakers hebben ze ledig gemaakt, en zij hebben hun wijnranken verdorven.
3 [the] shield of Warriors his [is] dyed red men of strength [are] clothed in scarlet [are] in fire of iron the chariotry on [the] day prepares he and the cypresses they have been made to quiver.
De schilden zijner helden zijn rood gemaakt, de kloeke mannen zijn scharlakenvervig; de wagens zijn in het vuur der fakkelen, ten dage als hij zich bereidt; en de spiesen worden geschud.
4 In the streets they drive madly the chariotry they rush around! in the open places appearance their [are] like torches like lightning flashes they run around.
De wagens razen door de wijken, zij lopen ginds en weder op de straten; hun gedaanten zijn als der fakkelen, zij lopen door elkander henen als de bliksemen.
5 He remembers nobles his they stumble (on journey their *Q(K)*) they hurry wall its and it is prepared the cover.
Hij zal aan zijn voortreffelijken gedenken, doch zij zullen struikelen in hun tochten; zij zullen haasten naar hun muur, als het beschutsel vaardig zal wezen.
6 [the] gates of The rivers they have been opened and the palace it has melted away.
De poorten der rivieren zullen geopend worden, en het paleis zal versmelten.
7 And it has been fixed it was uncovered it was taken away and maidservants its [are] moaning like [the] sound of doves [they are] beating on hearts their.
En Huzab zal gevankelijk weggevoerd worden, men zal haar heten voortgaan; en haar maagden zullen haar geleiden, als met een stem der duiven, trommelende op haar harten.
8 And Nineveh [was] like a pool of water from [the] days of it and they [are] fleeing stop stop and there not [is one who] turns back.
Nineve is wel als een watervijver, van de dagen af dat zij geweest is, doch zij zullen vluchten. Staat, staat! zal men roepen, maar niemand zal omzien.
9 Plunder silver plunder gold and there not [is] an end to the supply abundance from every article of preciousness.
Rooft zilver, rooft goud, want er is geen einde des voorraads, der heerlijkheid van allerlei gewenste vaten.
10 Emptiness and emptiness and devastation and heart [is] melting and [are] tottering knees and anguish [is] in all loins and [the] faces of all of them they have gathered a glow.
Zij is geledigd, ja, uitgeledigd, uitgeput, en haar hart versmelt, en de knieen schudden, en in al de lenden is smart, en hun aller aangezichten betrekken, als een pot.
11 Where? [is the] dwelling place of lions and [is] pasture it for young lions where it walked lion lioness there cub of lion and there not [was one who] disturbed [them].
Waar is nu de woning der leeuwen, en die weide der jonge leeuwen? Alwaar de leeuw, de oude leeuw, en het leeuwenwelp wandelde, en er was niemand, die hen verschrikte.
12 [the] lion [was] tearing For [the] sufficiency of cubs its and [was] strangling for lionesses its and it filled prey hole its and dens its torn flesh.
De leeuw, die genoeg roofde voor zijn welpen, en worgde voor zijn oude leeuwinnen, die zijn holen vervulde met roof, en zijn woningen met het geroofde.
13 Here I [am] against you [the] utterance of Yahweh of hosts and I will burn in smoke chariotry its and young lions your it will consume [the] sword and I will cut off from [the] earth prey your and not it will be heard again [the] voice of messengers your.
Ziet, Ik wil aan u, spreekt de HEERE der heirscharen, en Ik zal haar wagenen in rook verbranden, en het zwaard zal uw jonge leeuwen verteren, en Ik zal uw roof uitroeien van de aarde, en de stem uwer gezanten zal niet meer gehoord worden.
