Matthew 1
1 [The] book of [the] genealogy of Jesus Christ son of David son of Abraham.
Detta är Jesu Kristi, Davids sons, Abrahams sons, släkttavla.
2 Abraham begat Isaac; Isaac then begat Jacob; Jacob then begat Judah and the brothers of him;
Abraham födde Isak, Isak födde Jakob, Jakob födde Judas och hans bröder;
3 Judah then begat Perez and Zerah out of Tamar; Perez then begat Hezron; Hezron then begat Ram;
Judas födde Fares och Sara med Tamar, Fares födde Esrom, Esrom födde Aram;
4 Ram then begat Amminadab; Amminadab then begat Nahshon; Nahshon then begat Salmon;
Aram födde Aminadab, Aminadab födde Naasson, Naasson födde Salmon;
5 Salmon then begat Boaz out of Rahab; Boaz then begat Obed out of Ruth; Obed then begat Jesse;
Salmon födde Boes med Rakab, Boes födde Jobed med Rut, Jobed födde Jessai;
6 Jesse then begat David the king; David then (the king *k*) begat Solomon out of the [wife] of Uriah;
Jessai födde David, konungen, David födde Salomo med Urias' hustru;
7 Solomon then begat Rehoboam; Rehoboam then begat Abijah; Abijah then begat Asaph;
Salomo födde Roboam, Roboam födde Abia. Abia födde Asaf;
8 Asaph then begat Jehoshaphat; Jehoshaphat then begat Joram; Joram then begat Uzziah;
Asaf födde Josafat, Josafat födde Joram, Joram födde Osias;
9 Uzziah then begat Jotham; Jotham then begat Ahaz; Ahaz then begat Hezekiah;
Osias födde Joatam, Joatam födde Akas, Akas födde Esekias;
10 Hezekiah then begat Manasseh; Manasseh then begat (Amos; Amos *N(k)O*) then begat Josiah;
Esekias födde Manasses, Manasses födde Amos, Amos födde Josias;
11 Josiah then begat Jeconiah and the brothers of him at [the time] of the carrying away to Babylon.
Josias födde Jekonias och hans bröder, vid den tid då folket blev bortfört i fångenskap till Babylonien.
12 After then the carrying away to Babylon Jeconiah begat Shealtiel; Shealtiel then begat Zerubbabel;
Sedan folket hade blivit bortfört i fångenskap till Babylonien, födde Jekonias Salatiel, Salatiel födde Sorobabel;
13 Zerubbabel then begat Abiud; Abiud then begat Eliakim; Eliakim then begat Azor;
Sorobabel födde Abiud, Abiud födde Eljakim, Eljakim födde Asor;
14 Azor then begat Zadok; Zadok then begat Achim; Achim then begat Eliud;
Asor födde Sadok, Sadok födde Akim, Akim födde Eliud;
15 Eliud then begat Eleazar; Eleazar then begat Matthan; Matthan then begat Jacob;
Eliud födde Eleasar, Eleasar födde Mattan, Mattan födde Jakob;
16 Jacob then begat Joseph the husband of Mary out of whom was born Jesus who is being named Christ.
Jakob födde Josef, Marias man, och av henne föddes Jesus, som kallas Kristus.
17 All therefore the generations from Abraham to David [were] generations fourteen and from David until the carrying away to Babylon generations fourteen and from the carrying away to Babylon until the Christ generations fourteen.
Så utgöra släktlederna från Abraham intill David tillsammans fjorton leder, och från David intill dess att folket blev bortfört i fångenskap till Babylonien fjorton leder, och från det att folket blev bortfört i fångenskap till Babylonien intill Kristus fjorton leder.
18 Now of Jesus Christ the (origin *N(k)O*) thus was happening: At the pledging (for *k*) of the mother of Him Mary to Joseph, before than to come together by them she was found in womb [pregnancy] having out of [the] Spirit Holy.
Med Jesu Kristi födelse gick det så till. Sedan Maria, hans moder, hade blivit trolovad med Josef, befanns hon, förrän de kommo tillsammans, vara havande av helig ande.
19 Joseph now the husband of her, righteous being and not willing her (to disgrace, *N(k)O*) he purposed secretly to send away her.
Nu var Josef, hennes man, en rättsinnig man och ville icke utsätta henne for vanära; därför beslöt han att hemligen skilja sig från henne.
20 These things now when he was pondering behold an angel of [the] Lord in a dream appeared to him saying; Joseph son of David, not may you fear to receive Mary [as] the wife of you; that for in her having been conceived from [the] Spirit [which] is Holy.
Men när han hade fått detta i sinnet, se, då visade sig i drömmen en Herrens ängel för honom och sade: »Josef, Davids son, frukta icke att taga till dig Maria, din hustru; ty det som är avlat i henne är av helig ande.
21 She will bear then a son, and you will call the name of Him Jesus; He himself for will save the people of Him from the sins of them.
Och hon skall föda en son, och honom skall du giva namnet Jesus, ty han skall frälsa sitt folk ifrån deras synder.»
22 This then all has come to pass that may be fulfilled that [which] having been spoken by (the *k*) Lord through the prophet saying;
Allt detta har skett, för att det skulle fullbordas, som var sagt av Herren genom profeten som sade:
23 Behold the virgin in womb [pregnancy] will have and she will bear a son, and they will call the name of Him Immanuel, which is being translated; With us God.
»Se, jungfrun skall bliva havande och föda en son, och man skall giva honom namnet Emmanuel» (det betyder Gud med oss).
24 (Having been awoken *N(k)O*) then Joseph from the sleep he did as he commanded him the angel of [the] Lord; and received the wife of him
När Josef hade vaknat upp ur sömnen, gjorde han som Herrens ängel hade befallt honom och tog sin hustru till sig.
25 and not he was knowing her until that she had brought forth (the *k*) a son (of her firstborn, *K*) and (s)he called the name of Him Jesus.
Och han kände henne icke, förrän hon hade fött en son; och honom gav han namnet Jesus. Jämför hebr. jeschuá, som betyder frälsning.
