< Matthew 3 >

1 In then the days those comes John the Baptist preaching in the wilderness of Judea
Amaaka minga ghakakila. Pambele akahumila umuunhu jumonga juno akatambulwagha Yohani Mwofungi. Umuunhu ujuoalyale ku lihaka ku Yudea ipulisia, iiti,
2 and saying; do repent; has drawn near for the kingdom of the heavens.
Mulataghe inyivi siinu ulwakuva uvutwa uvwa kukyanya vuli piipi.
3 This for is the [One] having been spoken of (through *N(k)O*) Isaiah the prophet saying; [The] voice of one crying in the wilderness do prepare the way of [the] Lord, straight do make the paths of Him.
Yohani ujuo ghwe juno um'bili uYesaya alyajovile kuuti, “Ilisio lya muunhu lipulikika kuhuma ku lihaka liiti, 'Munnosekesyaghe uMutwa uNguluve isila, na kuling'hania muno kyaikilila."”
4 Himself now John was having the garment of him of hair of a camel and a belt of leather around the waist of him; and [the] food was of him locusts and honey wild.
UYohani akafwalagha umwenda ghuno ghwatendilue nu lwaghe lwa ngamila, akipinyagha nu lukova ulwa ng'hwembe mu nsana. Kulihaka ukuo, akalisagha imhaasi nu vwuki.
5 At that time were going out to him Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region around the Jordan,
Avaanhu kuhuma mu likaaja ilya Yelusalemu na mu kighavo kyoni ikya Yudea ni mbale sooni isa kikogha ikya Yolidani, vakava viluta kwa mwene
6 and were being baptized in the Jordan (River *no*) by him confessing the sins of them.
na kulaata inyivi saave. Neke uYohani akavofughagha mu kikoghaikya Yolidani.
7 Having seen now many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to the baptism of him he said to them; Brood of vipers, who forewarned you to flee from the coming wrath?
UYohani ye avwene aVafalisayi na Masadukayi viluta kwa mwene kuuti vofughue, akavavuula akati, “Umue mwe kisina kya njoka! Ghwe veeni jono avapaviile kuuti mkimbile ing'halaasi ja Nguluve jino jikwisa?
8 do produce therefore (fruit worthy *N(k)O*) of repentance.
Lino amaghendele ghahufyaghe ululaato lwinu.
9 And not may you presume to say within yourselves; [As] father we have Abraham; I say for to you that able is God out of stones these to raise up children to Abraham.
Mulekaghe kusaagha kuuti, “tukulwike ulwakuva usue tuli kisina kya Abulahamu!' Kyang'haani nikivavuula, nNguluve anoghiile kuhambusia amavue agha kuuva avaana va Abulahamu!
10 Already now (and *k*) the ax to the root of the trees is applied. every therefore tree not producing fruit good is cut down and into [the] fire is thrown.
UNguluve angiike inhemo, kuuti umpiki ghuno naghukoma ifipeke ifinofu, aghudumule na kunyaanya pa mwoto.
11 I myself indeed you baptize with water to repentance, however after me is coming mightier than I He is of whom not I am fit the sandals to carry; He himself you will baptize with [the] Spirit Holy and with fire;
Une nikuvofugha na malenga, kuvonia kuuti mulatile inyivi siinu. Neke juno ikwisa mumbele mulyune ali ni ngufu kukila une. Nanino ghiile nambe kuuva m'banda ughwa kukola ifilatu fyake.
12 whose winnowing fork [is] in the hand of Him, and He will clear the threshing floor of Him and will gather the wheat of Him into the barn (of him *o*) the but chaff He will burn up with fire unquenchable.
Umwene ikuvofughagha nu Mhepo uMwimike nu mwoto. Umwene ilibaghulania avimike na vahosi, ndavule umuunhu pano ikwelusia ingano pa luvunga, ikong'hania ingano na kuviika mu kihenge, neke ilyelelo inyaanya nu mwoto ghuno naghusima.”
13 Then comes Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John to be baptized by him.
Unsiki ughuo, uYesu kuhuma ku Galilaya, akafika ku kikogha ikya Yolidani kuuti ofughue nu Yolidani.
14 But John was hindering Him saying; I myself need have by You to be baptized, and You yourself come to me?
Neke uYohani akakaana, akati, “Une nilondua kukwofughua nuuve. Iwandaani ghukwisa kulyune?'
15 Answering however Jesus said unto (him; *NK(o)*) do permit [it] now; thus for fitting it is to us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he permits Him.
UYesu akamwamula akati “Uve itika kuvomba uluo lino, ulwakuva lunoghiile kukwikanisia sooni sino uNguluve ilonda.” Pe uyohani akitika, akamwofugha.
16 (and *k*) Having been baptized (now *no*) Jesus immediately went up from the water. and behold were opened to Him the heavens, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and alighting upon Him.
UYesu ye ofughue, unsiki ghughuo akahuma mu malenga. Uvulanga vukadinduka, akamwagha uMhepo ghwa Nguluve ikwika hwene ng'hunda, jikwisa pakyanya pa mwene!
17 And behold a voice out of the heavens saying; This is the Son of Mine the beloved in whom I was well pleased.
Pe ilisio kuhuma kukyanya likati, “Uju ghwe mwanango umughanike, ninkeliile.”
