< Matthew 21 >

1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage (on *N(k)O*) the Mount of Olives, then (*ko*) Jesus sent two disciples
anantaraM teSu yirUzAlamnagarasya samIpaverttino jaitunanAmakadharAdharasya samIpasthtiM baitphagigrAmam AgateSu, yIzuH ziSyadvayaM preSayan jagAda,
2 saying to them; (do go *N(k)O*) into the village which [is] (in front *N(k)O*) of you. and immediately you will find a donkey tied and a colt with her; having untied [them] (do bring [them] *NK(o)*) to Me.
yuvAM sammukhasthagrAmaM gatvA baddhAM yAM savatsAM garddabhIM haThAt prApsyathaH, tAM mocayitvA madantikam AnayataM|
3 And if anyone to you may say anything, you will say that the Lord of them need has, Immediately then (he will send *NK(o)*) them.
tatra yadi kazcit kiJcid vakSyati, tarhi vadiSyathaH, etasyAM prabhoH prayojanamAste, tena sa tatkSaNAt praheSyati|
4 This then (all *k*) has come to pass that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken through the prophet saying;
sIyonaH kanyakAM yUyaM bhASadhvamiti bhAratIM| pazya te namrazIlaH san nRpa Aruhya gardabhIM| arthAdAruhya tadvatsamAyAsyati tvadantikaM|
5 do say to the daughter of Zion; Behold the King of you comes to you, gentle and already riding on a donkey even (upon *no*) a colt [the] foal of a beast of burden.
bhaviSyadvAdinoktaM vacanamidaM tadA saphalamabhUt|
6 Having gone then the disciples and having done even as (directed *N(k)O*) to them Jesus,
anantaraM tau zSyi yIzo ryathAnidezaM taM grAmaM gatvA
7 they brought the donkey and the colt and put (upon *N(k)O*) them the cloaks (of them *k*) and He sat on them.
gardabhIM tadvatsaJca samAnItavantau, pazcAt tadupari svIyavasanAnI pAtayitvA tamArohayAmAsatuH|
8 The now very great crowd spread their own cloaks on the road, others now were cutting down branches from the trees and were spreading [them] on the road.
tato bahavo lokA nijavasanAni pathi prasArayitumArebhire, katipayA janAzca pAdapaparNAdikaM chitvA pathi vistArayAmAsuH|
9 The now crowds which are going before (Him *no*) and those following they were crying out saying: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed [is] the [One] coming in [the] name of [the] Lord! Hosanna in the highest!
agragAminaH pazcAdgAminazca manujA uccairjaya jaya dAyUdaH santAneti jagaduH paramezvarasya nAmnA ya AyAti sa dhanyaH, sarvvoparisthasvargepi jayati|
10 And when was entering He into Jerusalem was stirred all the city saying; Who is this?
itthaM tasmin yirUzAlamaM praviSTe ko'yamiti kathanAt kRtsnaM nagaraM caJcalamabhavat|
11 And the crowds were saying; This is the prophet Jesus, the [One] from Nazareth of Galilee.
tatra lokoH kathayAmAsuH, eSa gAlIlpradezIya-nAsaratIya-bhaviSyadvAdI yIzuH|
12 And entered (*k*) Jesus into the temple (of God *K*) and cast out all those selling and buying in the temple, and the tables of the money changers He overturned and the seats of those selling the doves.
anantaraM yIzurIzvarasya mandiraM pravizya tanmadhyAt krayavikrayiNo vahizcakAra; vaNijAM mudrAsanAnI kapotavikrayiNAJcasanAnI ca nyuvjayAmAsa|
13 And He says to them; It has been written: The house of Mine a house of prayer will be called,’ You yourselves however it (make *N(k)O*) a den of robbers.’
aparaM tAnuvAca, eSA lipirAste, "mama gRhaM prArthanAgRhamiti vikhyAsyati", kintu yUyaM tad dasyUnAM gahvaraM kRtavantaH|
14 And came to Him blind and lame in the temple, and He healed them.
tadanantaram andhakhaJcalokAstasya samIpamAgatAH, sa tAn nirAmayAn kRtavAn|
15 Having seen now the chief priests and the scribes the wonders that He did and the children (who *no*) are crying out in the temple and saying; Hosanna to the Son of David, they were indignant
yadA pradhAnayAjakA adhyApakAzca tena kRtAnyetAni citrakarmmANi dadRzuH, jaya jaya dAyUdaH santAna, mandire bAlakAnAm etAdRzam uccadhvaniM zuzruvuzca, tadA mahAkruddhA babhUvaH,
16 and said to Him; Hear you what these say? And Jesus says to them; Yes. surely sometime you did read that Out of [the] mouth of babes and sucklings You have prepared for yourself praise’?
taM papracchuzca, ime yad vadanti, tat kiM tvaM zRNoSi? tato yIzustAn avocat, satyam; stanyapAyizizUnAJca bAlakAnAJca vaktrataH| svakIyaM mahimAnaM tvaM saMprakAzayasi svayaM| etadvAkyaM yUyaM kiM nApaThata?
17 And having left them He went out of the city to Bethany and He passed the night there.
tatastAn vihAya sa nagarAd baithaniyAgrAmaM gatvA tatra rajanIM yApayAmAsa|
18 (Early *N(k)O*) then (he is coming back *NK(o)*) into the city He became hungry,
anantaraM prabhAte sati yIzuH punarapi nagaramAgacchan kSudhArtto babhUva|
19 And having seen fig tree one along the road He came to it and no [thing] found on it only except leaves alone And He says to it; (certainly *o*) no more from you fruit there may be to the age. And withered immediately the fig tree. (aiōn g165)
tato mArgapArzva uDumbaravRkSamekaM vilokya tatsamIpaM gatvA patrANi vinA kimapi na prApya taM pAdapaM provAca, adyArabhya kadApi tvayi phalaM na bhavatu; tena tatkSaNAt sa uDumbaramAhIruhaH zuSkatAM gataH| (aiōn g165)
20 And having seen [it] the disciples marveled saying; How so quickly withered the fig tree?
tad dRSTvA ziSyA AzcaryyaM vijJAya kathayAmAsuH, AH, uDumvarapAdapo'titUrNaM zuSko'bhavat|
21 Answering now Jesus said to them; Amen I say to you; if you shall have faith and not shall doubt, not only the [miracle] of the fig tree will you do, but even if even if to the mountain this you shall say; do be taken away and do be cast into the sea, it will come to pass;
tato yIzustAnuvAca, yuSmAnahaM satyaM vadAmi, yadi yUyamasandigdhAH pratItha, tarhi yUyamapi kevaloDumvarapAdapaM pratItthaM karttuM zakSyatha, tanna, tvaM calitvA sAgare pateti vAkyaM yuSmAbhirasmina zaile proktepi tadaiva tad ghaTiSyate|
22 And all things as much as (maybe *NK(o)*) you shall ask in prayer believing, you will receive.
tathA vizvasya prArthya yuSmAbhi ryad yAciSyate, tadeva prApsyate|
23 And (when was coming He *N(k)O*) into the temple came to Him teaching the chief priests and the elders of the people saying; By what authority these things are You doing And who to You gave authority this?
anantaraM mandiraM pravizyopadezanasamaye tatsamIpaM pradhAnayAjakAH prAcInalokAzcAgatya papracchuH, tvayA kena sAmarthyanaitAni karmmANi kriyante? kena vA tubhyametAni sAmarthyAni dattAni?
24 Answering now Jesus said to them; Will ask you I myself also I myself also thing one, which if you shall tell Me I myself also I myself also to you will say by what authority these things I do.
tato yIzuH pratyavadat, ahamapi yuSmAn vAcamekAM pRcchAmi, yadi yUyaM taduttaraM dAtuM zakSyatha, tadA kena sAmarthyena karmmANyetAni karomi, tadahaM yuSmAn vakSyAmi|
25 The baptism (*no*) of John from where was it? From heaven or from men? And they were reasoning (among *N(k)O*) themselves saying; If we shall say; From heaven, He will say to us; Because of why then not did you believe in him?
yohano majjanaM kasyAjJayAbhavat? kimIzvarasya manuSyasya vA? tataste parasparaM vivicya kathayAmAsuH, yadIzvarasyeti vadAmastarhi yUyaM taM kuto na pratyaita? vAcametAM vakSyati|
26 If however we shall say; From men, we fear the multitude; all for as a prophet hold John.
manuSyasyeti vaktumapi lokebhyo bibhImaH, yataH sarvvairapi yohan bhaviSyadvAdIti jJAyate|
27 And answering Jesus they said; Not do we know. Was saying to them also He himself; Neither I myself tell you by what authority these things I do.
tasmAt te yIzuM pratyavadan, tad vayaM na vidmaH| tadA sa tAnuktavAn, tarhi kena sAmarathyena karmmANyetAnyahaM karomi, tadapyahaM yuSmAn na vakSyAmi|
28 What however you think? A man had sons two, and having come to the first he said; Son, do go today do work in the vineyard (of mine. *k*)
kasyacijjanasya dvau sutAvAstAM sa ekasya sutasya samIpaM gatvA jagAda, he suta, tvamadya mama drAkSAkSetre karmma kartuM vraja|
29 And answering he said; Not I want to; Afterward however having repented he went.
tataH sa uktavAn, na yAsyAmi, kintu zeSe'nutapya jagAma|
30 (and *k*) Having come (then *no*) to the (other *N(K)O*) he said likewise. And answering he said; I myself [will] sir; and not did he go.
anantaraM sonyasutasya samIpaM gatvA tathaiva kathtivAn; tataH sa pratyuvAca, maheccha yAmi, kintu na gataH|
31 Which of the two did the will of the father? They say (to him: *k*) The (first. *NK(O)*) Says to them Jesus; Amen I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes go before you into the kingdom of God.
etayoH putrayo rmadhye piturabhimataM kena pAlitaM? yuSmAbhiH kiM budhyate? tataste pratyUcuH, prathamena putreNa| tadAnIM yIzustAnuvAca, ahaM yuSmAn tathyaM vadAmi, caNDAlA gaNikAzca yuSmAkamagrata Izvarasya rAjyaM pravizanti|
32 Came for John to you in [the] way of righteousness, and not you did believe in him; however the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed in him. you yourselves then having seen (not even *N(k)O*) did repent afterward to believe him.
yato yuSmAkaM samIpaM yohani dharmmapathenAgate yUyaM taM na pratItha, kintu caNDAlA gaNikAzca taM pratyAyan, tad vilokyApi yUyaM pratyetuM nAkhidyadhvaM|
33 Another parable do hear: A man (who *k*) there was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and a fence around it placed and he dug in it a winepress and he built a tower and he rented out it to farmers and he traveled abroad.
aparamekaM dRSTAntaM zRNuta, kazcid gRhasthaH kSetre drAkSAlatA ropayitvA taccaturdikSu vAraNIM vidhAya tanmadhye drAkSAyantraM sthApitavAn, mAJcaJca nirmmitavAn, tataH kRSakeSu tat kSetraM samarpya svayaM dUradezaM jagAma|
34 When then drew near the season of the fruits, he sent the servants of him to the farmers to receive the fruits of him.
tadanantaraM phalasamaya upasthite sa phalAni prAptuM kRSIvalAnAM samIpaM nijadAsAn preSayAmAsa|
35 And having taken the farmers the servants of him, the one they beat, another and they killed, another and they stoned.
kintu kRSIvalAstasya tAn dAseyAn dhRtvA kaJcana prahRtavantaH, kaJcana pASANairAhatavantaH, kaJcana ca hatavantaH|
36 Again he sent other servants more than the first, and they did to them likewise.
punarapi sa prabhuH prathamato'dhikadAseyAn preSayAmAsa, kintu te tAn pratyapi tathaiva cakruH|
37 Afterward then he sent to them the son of him saying; They will respect the son of mine.
anantaraM mama sute gate taM samAdariSyante, ityuktvA zeSe sa nijasutaM teSAM sannidhiM preSayAmAsa|
38 But the farmers having seen the son said among themselves; This is the heir; come, let us kill him and (let us have *N(k)O*) the inheritance of him.
kintu te kRSIvalAH sutaM vIkSya parasparam iti mantrayitum Arebhire, ayamuttarAdhikArI vayamenaM nihatyAsyAdhikAraM svavazIkariSyAmaH|
39 And having taking him they cast [him] out of the vineyard and killed [him].
pazcAt te taM dhRtvA drAkSAkSetrAd bahiH pAtayitvAbadhiSuH|
40 When therefore may come the master of the vineyard, what will he do farmers to those?
yadA sa drAkSAkSetrapatirAgamiSyati, tadA tAn kRSIvalAn kiM kariSyati?
41 They say to him; [The] wretches grievously He will destroy them and the vineyard he will rent out to other farmers who will give to him the fruits in the seasons of them.
tataste pratyavadan, tAn kaluSiNo dAruNayAtanAbhirAhaniSyati, ye ca samayAnukramAt phalAni dAsyanti, tAdRzeSu kRSIvaleSu kSetraM samarpayiSyati|
42 Says to them Jesus; surely sometime you did read in the Scriptures: [The] stone which rejected those building, this has become the chief corner. From [the] Lord was this, and it is marvelous in [the] eyes of us?’
tadA yIzunA te gaditAH, grahaNaM na kRtaM yasya pASANasya nicAyakaiH| pradhAnaprastaraH koNe saeva saMbhaviSyati| etat parezituH karmmAsmadRSTAvadbhutaM bhavet| dharmmagranthe likhitametadvacanaM yuSmAbhiH kiM nApAThi?
43 Because of this I say to you that it will be taken away from you the kingdom of God and it will be given to a people producing the fruits of it.
tasmAdahaM yuSmAn vadAmi, yuSmatta IzvarIyarAjyamapanIya phalotpAdayitranyajAtaye dAyiSyate|
44 And the [one] having fallen on stone this will be broken; on whomever but maybe it may fall, it will grind to powder him.
yo jana etatpASANopari patiSyati, taM sa bhaMkSyate, kintvayaM pASANo yasyopari patiSyati, taM sa dhUlivat cUrNIkariSyati|
45 And having heard the chief priests and the Pharisees the parables of Him they knew that about them He speaks.
tadAnIM prAdhanayAjakAH phirUzinazca tasyemAM dRSTAntakathAM zrutvA so'smAnuddizya kathitavAn, iti vijJAya taM dharttuM ceSTitavantaH;
46 And seeking Him to lay hold of they feared the crowds, (because to *N(k)O*) a prophet Him they were holding.
kintu lokebhyo bibhyuH, yato lokaiH sa bhaviSyadvAdItyajJAyi|
