< Matthew 2 >
1 Now Jesus having been born in Bethlehem of Judea in [the] days of Herod the king behold Magi from [the] east arrived in Jerusalem
JESUS otai'pokaiisi Bethlehem, auŏsĭn'ĭm Judæa, annists'ĭsk ksĭstsiku'ĭstsk, Herod otsĭtsĭnaiipi, Satsik, mokŏk'ietappix umut'autstsipi apinŏk'kuyi itsipuk'sipuiau Jerusalem,
2 saying; Where is the [One] having been born King of the Jews? We saw for His star in the east and are come to worship Him.
An'iau, ŭnan'ŏk manipok'auŏk Jews otsĭn'aimoaiauaie? Tŭkkă, annim' apinŏk'kuyi stai'tappiosi nitsĭno'ŭnan okŏkatosim, ki nimut'otopĭnan nŏk'itauatsĭmmimmŏsĭnan.
3 Having heard then King Herod he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him,
Herod omŭx'ina otokh'tsĭsaie, otap'itsi-tanaie, ki Jerusalem ĭstokŏnai'tappix ikŏno-nokap'aitsitamiuax.
4 And having gathered together all the chief priests and scribes of the people he was inquiring of them where the Christ is born.
Ikŏnaumoi'piŭsax omŭk'atoiapiekuax ki ai'sĭnakix, sŭppoŏttsesattsiuax Christ mŏk'itsipokaiipiaie.
5 And they said to him; In Bethlehem of Judea. thus for it has been written through the prophet:
Ki an'ĭstsiauaie, Bethlehem, Judæa ĭstauŏsĭn'im, ŭn'nimaie; ŭn'anĭstappi prophet osĭn'aksĭn;
6 And you yourself Bethlehem land of Judah, by no means least are among the rulers of Judah; out of you for will go forth [One] leading who will shepherd the people of Mine Israel.’
Ki ksĕsto'a Bethlehem, Judæa ĭstauŏsĭn'im, kimats'inŭkstsipuaua, Judah ĭstsĭn'ax; Nin'auŏk, ksesto'a ak'itsĭstauasiu ki osto'i ai'akaukŏkitsĭmau nitsitappim'ĭx Israel.
7 Then Herod secretly having called the Magi inquired exactly of them the time of the appearing star,
Herod, sĭmi'nikŏtŭssax mokŏk'ietappix, sokap'sŭppoŏtsesattsiuax otsokap'ĭnŏkuyisaie kŏkatosi.
8 And having sent them to Bethlehem he said; Having gone do search carefully for the Child. when then You may have found [Him], do bring word back to me so that I myself also I myself also having come may worship Him.
Ki itŭpŭt'okŏttsiuax Bethlehem; kian'iu, kŭkko' sokap'apsŭmmok pokau'ŏk; ki ikonoainoeniki, itŭm'ŭtskĭtsĭnikokĭk nŏk'itsitotosi nŏk'it a tsĭm mĭm mosi.
9 And having heard the king they went away. and behold the star which they saw in the east was going before them until having arrived (it was stood *N(k)O*) over where was the Child.
Otokh'tsĭsau omŭxina otan'iipiaie, itsĭs'tapuiau; ki satĭsk, anni'isk kŏk'atosiĭsk otsitsinoauaiĭsk umut'autstsipi apinŏk'uyi otsitom'akoaiauaie, ki otai'totosi inŭk'sipokai ot'sitaupipiaie itots'iketsipuyiuaie.
10 Having seen now the star they rejoiced [with] joy great exceedingly,
Otsĭnno'ŏssauaie kŏk'atosi, eks'kamŭk otse'tametŭksuaii.
11 And having come into the house (they saw *NK(o)*) the Child with Mary the mother of Him, and having fallen down they worshiped Him, and having opened the treasures of them they offered to Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Ki otaitsipĭs'sau nap'ioyĭs, Mary oksis'tsi ipĭnnu'yiauaie pokai'ĭsk, ki ĭnnĭssi'iau, ki itatsĭm'mĭmmiau: ki otaipasuk'ĭnĭssauĕsts otakomŭtskotuksuauĕsts, ĭssak'okotsiauaie gold ki frankincense ki myrrh.
12 And having been divinely warned in a dream not to return to Herod, through another route they withdrew into the country of them.
Ap'ĭstotokiuă papaukŏkianĭstcsax mŏkstaiskĭto'tosau, noke'tsi moksokui itŭp'akaiiau.
13 When were withdrawing then they behold an angel of [the] Lord appears in a dream to Joseph saying; Having arisen do take the Child and the mother of Him and do flee into Egypt and do remain there until when I may tell you; is about for Herod is to seek the Child to destroy Him.
Ki otau'mattosau, satsĭk, Ap'ĭstotokiuă sto'tokatatscs papauta'atsiuaie Joseph, an'ĭsitouaie, Nipuat', ki mattos'au pokau' ki oksĭs'tsi ki ikŭm'itappoat Egypt, ki stau'pit ki kĭtak'otŭmanĭsto; tŭk'kă, Herod ai'akapsŭmmiuaie inŭk'sipokau mŏks'enitŏsaie.
14 And having arisen he took the Child and the mother of Him by night and withdrew into Egypt,
Otai'puawksi, sepiai'akotuyiuax inŭk'sipokau ki oksĭs'tsi ki Egypt itŭp'itappoiau:
15 and he was remaining there until the death of Herod, so that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken by (the *k*) Lord through the prophet saying; Out of Egypt I called the Son of mine.
Ki itau'piuaie otai'ĭnsaie Herod, mŏksenŭp'anĭstosi Ap'ĭstotokiuă otse'poawsĭn, otsiprophet i totsi'uaie, Egypt, ŭn'nimaie nitsĭt' ŭtŭmmau noko'a.
16 Then Herod having seen that he had been outwitted by the Magi was enraged intensely, and having sent forth he executed all the boys that [were] in Bethlehem and in all the vicinity of it from two years old and under according to the time which he had ascertained from the Magi.
Herod, otai'noŏsax mokŏk'ietappix otap'apĭstotoyĭsax, eks'kaiĭstsetŭkkiu, ki itŭp'otokŏttsiuax (otsen'nakemix) Bethlehem ki sa'akapotsim, ai'stokistuyimix sŏk'umappix ikŏn'ainĭttsiauax; kŭttaistoki'stuyimix sŏk'umappix mat'okŏnainittsiauax, umut'otsksĭnippi otsokap'sŭppoŏtsesattŭsax mokŏk'ietappix.
17 Then was fulfilled that having been spoken (through *N(k)O*) Jeremiah the prophet saying;
Itŭm'enŭpanĭstomaie Jeremy prophet otse'poawsĭn otan'ipi,
18 A voice in Ramah was heard, (lamentation and *K*) weeping and mourning great, Rachel weeping [for] the children of her, and not was willing to be comforted because no more they are.
Epo'awsĭnni itsĭk'kitokhtsip Rama, asain'sĭnni ki aiĭm'motseisĭnni ki omŭkoyesĭnni, Rachel o'kosix itau'asŭniu ki matokuikiawpĭketŭkkiu'ats, tŭkkă, itsen'iau.
19 When was dying now Herod behold an angel of [the] Lord appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt
Herod otse'ĭnsi, sat'sĭk, Ap'istotokiuă oto'tokatatsĭs Joseph otsipapau'takaie, Egypt otsitai'tappiisaie.
20 saying; Having arisen do take the Child and the mother of Him and do go into [the] land of Israel; they have died for those seeking the life of the Child.
An'ĭstsiuaie, Nipuat'ki mattos'au inŭk'sipokau ki oksĭs'tsi, ki itŭp'itappoat Israel istau'ŏsĭnĭm; tŭk'kă ini'au anniks'isk ap'ŭssummiiskaie otsipai'tappiisĭnni.
21 And having arisen he took the Child and the mother of Him and (entered *N(k)O*) into [the] land of Israel.
Ki itsipuau ki aiako'tuyiuax pokau'a ki o ksĭs'tsi, ki Israel ĭstauŏsĭn'im ito'to.
22 Having heard now that Archelaus rules (upon *ko*) Judea in place of the father of him Herod he was afraid there to go. having been divinely warned now in a dream he withdrew into the district of Galilee,
Ki otokh'tsĭssi Archelaus otau'atsuaiitsitapai'naiisi un'ni otsĭn'naiisĭnni, ĭsstŭn'ĭmaie mŏk'ĭttapposaie; ki Ap'ĭstotokiuă otsipapauanĭstosaie, Galilee itanĭs'tŭpitappo:
23 and having come he dwelt in a city being named Nazareth, so that it may be fulfilled that having been spoken through the prophets that A Nazarene He will be called.
Ki akapioyis, Nazareth anĭstau, ito'to kiitoko'yiu; mŏkenŭpanĭstosaie prophetix otan'iipiax, akanĭstai'nikŏttau Nazaren'aikuŭn.
