< Matthew 16 >
1 And having approached the Pharisees and Sadducees, testing they asked Him a sign out of heaven to show them.
ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲪⲁⲣⲓⲥⲉⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲤⲁⲇⲇⲟⲩⲕⲉⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲉⲣⲡⲓⲣⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲁⲩϣⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ.
2 And answering He said to them; Evening having come you say; Fair weather, is red for the sky.
ⲃ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁϥϣⲁⲛ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲁⲣⲟⲩϩⲓ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲟⲩϫⲁⲙⲏ ⲉⲥ⳿ⲑⲣⲟϣⲣⲉϣ.
3 And in the morning; Today a storm, is red for being overcast the sky. (hypocrites *K*) The indeed appearance of the sky you know [how] to discern, however the signs of the times not you are able?
ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲁⲧⲟⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲫⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲧ⳿ⲫⲣⲱ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲑⲣⲟϣⲣⲉϣ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲅⲛⲟⲫⲟⲥ ⲛⲓϣⲟⲃⲓ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲥⲟⲙⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲫⲙⲏⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ.
4 A generation evil and adulterous a sign seeks; and a sign not will be given to it only except the sign of Jonah (prophet. *K*) And having left them He went away.
ⲇ̅ϫⲉ ⲡⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⳿ϥⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲙⲏⲓⲛⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲙⲏⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲙⲏⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲱⲛⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥⲭⲁⲩ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛⲁϥ.
5 And having come the disciples (of him *k*) to the other side they forgot bread to take.
ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲙⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲡⲱⲃϣ ⳿ⲉϣⲉⲡ ⲱⲓⲕ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ.
6 And Jesus said to them; do watch and do beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲁϩⲑⲏⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⳿ⲡϣⲉⲙⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲪⲁⲣⲓⲥⲉⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲤⲁⲇⲇⲟⲩⲕⲉⲟⲥ.
7 And they were reasoning among themselves saying Because bread not we took.
ⲍ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩⲙⲟⲕⲙⲉⲕ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲱⲓⲕ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛ.
8 Having known [this] however Jesus said (to them: *k*) Why reason you among yourselves, O [you] of little faith, because bread not (you take? *N(K)O*)
ⲏ̅⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲟⲕⲙⲉⲕ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲁ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ ⲱⲓⲕ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ.
9 Not yet do you understand nor remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many hand-baskets you gathered?
ⲑ̅⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛϣⲟ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲕⲟⲧ.
10 Nor [remember] the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you gathered?
ⲓ̅ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲡⲓⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲇ̅ ⳿ⲛϣⲟ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲏⲣ ⳿ⲙⲃⲓⲣ.
11 How not understand you that not concerning (loaves *N(k)O*) I spoke to you? (do beware *N(k)O*) (also *no*) of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees!
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲱⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲁϯ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲓⲕ ⳿ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⳿ⲡϣⲉⲙⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲪⲁⲣⲓⲥⲉⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲤⲁⲇⲇⲟⲩⲕⲉⲟⲥ.
12 Then they understood that not He said to beware of the leaven (of the loaves *N(k)O*) but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲕⲁϯ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⳿ⲡϣⲉⲙⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲱⲓⲕ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲪⲁⲣⲓⲥⲉⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲤⲁⲇⲇⲟⲩⲕⲉⲟⲥ.
13 Having come then Jesus into the district of Caesarea Philippi He was questioning the disciples of Him saying; Whom (Me *k*) do pronounce men to be the Son of man?
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓⲥⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲧⲔⲉⲥⲁⲣⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲫⲓⲗⲓⲡⲡⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥϣⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲣⲉ ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ Ⲡ̇ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲪ̇ⲣⲱⲙⲓ.
14 And they said: Some indeed, John the Baptist, others however, Elijah, others however, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲙⲉⲛ ϫⲉ Ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯⲱⲙⲥ ϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ Ⲏ̇ⲗⲓⲁⲥ ϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ Ⲓⲉⲣⲉⲙⲓⲁⲥ ⲓⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
15 He says to them; You yourselves but whom Me do you pronounce to be?
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲛⲓⲙ.
16 Answering now Simon Peter said; You yourself are the Christ the Son of God the living.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ Ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡ̇ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲪϯ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϧ.
17 (and *k*) Answering (now *no*) Jesus said to him; Blessed are you, Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood not revealed [it] to you but the Father of Mine who [is] in the heavens.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁϥ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲩ⳿ⲱ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲛⲓⲁⲧⲕ Ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲃⲁⲣ Ⲓⲱⲛⲁ ϫⲉ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲁϥϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲙⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉⲧϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
18 I myself also I myself also now to you say that you yourself are Peter and on this the rock I will build My church, and [the] gates of hades not will prevail against it. (Hadēs )
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ Ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲓ⳿ⲉⲕⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲉⲕ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓ⳿ⲁ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲁⲓⲡⲉⲧⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓⲡⲩⲗⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲁⲙⲉⲛϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϣϫⲉⲙϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲥ. (Hadēs )
19 (and *ko*) I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, and whatever (if *NK(o)*) you shall bind on the earth, will be bound in the heavens, and whatever (maybe *NK(o)*) you shall loose on the earth, will be loosed in the heavens.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲓ⳿ⲉϯ ⲛⲁⲕ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϣⲟϣⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲏ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲛⲁⲥⲟⲛϩϥ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉϥⲥⲟⲛϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲏ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲛⲁⲃⲟⲗϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉϥⲃⲏⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
20 Then (he ordered *NK(O)*) the disciples (of him *k*) that to no one they may say that He himself is (Jesus *k*) the Christ.
ⲕ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥϩⲟⲛϩⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙϫⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
21 From that time began Jesus (Christ *O*) to show to the disciples of Him that it is necessary for Him to Jerusalem to go away and many things to suffer from the elders and chief priests and scribes and to be killed and on the third day to be raised.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅
22 And having taken aside Him Peter began to rebuke Him saying; Far be it from You, Lord; certainly not will be to You this.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϥ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁⲛ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲗⲉⲱⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ Ⲡⲁ⳪ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲕ.
23 And having turned He said to Peter; do go behind Me Satan! A stumbling block you are (to me, *N(k)O*) For not your thoughts are of those of God but [of] the [things] of men.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⳿ⲙⲠⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁϣⲉⲛⲁⲕ ⲥⲁⲙⲉⲛϩⲏⲓ ⳿ⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲕⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲟⲛ ⲛⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲭⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁ Ⲫϯ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲁ ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ.
24 Then Jesus said to the disciples of Him; If anyone desires after Me to come, he should deny himself and he should take up the cross of him and he should follow Me.

25 Who[ever] for (maybe *N(k)O*) shall desire the life of him to save, will lose it; who[ever] however maybe shall lose the life of him on account of Me, will find it.

26 What for (will it be profitable *N(k)O*) [for] a man, if the world whole he shall gain, but the soul of him shall lose? Or what will give a man [as] an exchange for the soul of him?

27 Is about for the Son of the man to come in the glory of the Father of Him with the angels of Him and then He will give to each according to the deeds of him.

28 Amen I say to you (that *no*) there are some of those here (already standing *NK(o)*) who certainly not shall taste of death until when they may have seen the Son of Man coming in the kingdom of Him.
