< Luke 8 >
1 And it came to pass afterward soon that He himself was traveling throughout city and village preaching and evangelising of the kingdom of God And the Twelve [were] with Him
apara ncha yIshu rdvAdashabhiH shiShyaiH sArddhaM nAnAnagareShu nAnAgrAmeShu cha gachChan ishvarIyarAjatvasya susaMvAdaM prachArayituM prArebhe|
2 and women certain who were cured from spirits evil and infirmities, Mary who is called Magdalene from whom demons seven had gone out,
tadA yasyAH sapta bhUtA niragachChan sA magdalInIti vikhyAtA mariyam herodrAjasya gR^ihAdhipateH hoShe rbhAryyA yohanA shUshAnA
3 and Joanna wife of Chuza a steward of Herod and Susanna and others many who were ministering (to them *N(K)O*) (out of *N(k)O*) the possessions of theirs.
prabhR^itayo yA bahvyaH striyaH duShTabhUtebhyo rogebhyashcha muktAH satyo nijavibhUtI rvyayitvA tamasevanta, tAH sarvvAstena sArddham Asan|
4 When were assembling now a crowd great and those from each town are coming to Him He spoke through a parable:
anantaraM nAnAnagarebhyo bahavo lokA Agatya tasya samIpe. amilan, tadA sa tebhya ekAM dR^iShTAntakathAM kathayAmAsa| ekaH kR^iShIbalo bIjAni vaptuM bahirjagAma,
5 Went out the [one] sowing to sow the seed of him; And in the sowing of him some indeed fell along the road and it was trampled upon, and the birds of the air devoured it.
tato vapanakAle katipayAni bIjAni mArgapArshve petuH, tatastAni padatalai rdalitAni pakShibhi rbhakShitAni cha|
6 However other (fell *N(k)O*) upon the rock, and having sprung up it withered through not having moisture.
katipayAni bIjAni pAShANasthale patitAni yadyapi tAnya NkuritAni tathApi rasAbhAvAt shushuShuH|
7 And other fell in [the] midst of the thorns, and having sprung up with [it] the thorns choked choked it.
katipayAni bIjAni kaNTakivanamadhye patitAni tataH kaNTakivanAni saMvR^iddhya tAni jagrasuH|
8 And other fell (upon *N(k)O*) the soil good, and having sprung up it produced fruit a hundredfold. These things saying He was calling out; The [one] having ears to hear he should hear.
tadanyAni katipayabIjAni cha bhUmyAmuttamAyAM petustatastAnya NkurayitvA shataguNAni phalAni pheluH| sa imA kathAM kathayitvA prochchaiH provAcha, yasya shrotuM shrotre staH sa shR^iNotu|
9 Were asking then Him the disciples of Him (saying: *k*) What this would mean the parable
tataH paraM shiShyAstaM paprachChurasya dR^iShTAntasya kiM tAtparyyaM?
10 And He said; To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, to the however rest [it is] in parables so that Seeing not shall they see and hearing not shall they understand.’
tataH sa vyAjahAra, IshvarIyarAjyasya guhyAni j nAtuM yuShmabhyamadhikAro dIyate kintvanye yathA dR^iShTvApi na pashyanti shrutvApi ma budhyante cha tadarthaM teShAM purastAt tAH sarvvAH kathA dR^iShTAntena kathyante|
11 Is now this the parable: The seed is the word of God.
dR^iShTAntasyAsyAbhiprAyaH, IshvarIyakathA bIjasvarUpA|
12 Those now along the road are which [are] (having heard, *N(k)O*) then comes the devil and takes away the word from the heart of them that not having believed they may be saved.
ye kathAmAtraM shR^iNvanti kintu pashchAd vishvasya yathA paritrANaM na prApnuvanti tadAshayena shaitAnetya hR^idayAtR^i tAM kathAm apaharati ta eva mArgapArshvasthabhUmisvarUpAH|
13 Those now upon the rock, those who when they may hear with joy receive the word; and these a root not have, who for a time believe and in time of testing fall away.
ye kathaM shrutvA sAnandaM gR^ihlanti kintvabaddhamUlatvAt svalpakAlamAtraM pratItya parIkShAkAle bhrashyanti taeva pAShANabhUmisvarUpAH|
14 That now into the thorns having fallen, these are those having heard, and under cares and riches and pleasures of life moving along are choked and not do mature.
ye kathAM shrutvA yAnti viShayachintAyAM dhanalobhena ehikasukhe cha majjanta upayuktaphalAni na phalanti ta evoptabIjakaNTakibhUsvarUpAH|
15 That now in the good soil, these are those in a heart worthy and good having heard the word keep [it] and they bring forth fruit by perseverance.
kintu ye shrutvA saralaiH shuddhaishchAntaHkaraNaiH kathAM gR^ihlanti dhairyyam avalambya phalAnyutpAdayanti cha ta evottamamR^itsvarUpAH|
16 No [one] now a lamp having lighted covers it with a vessel or under a bed puts [it], but on a lampstand (puts [it] *N(k)O*) so that those entering in may see the light.
apara ncha pradIpaM prajvAlya kopi pAtreNa nAchChAdayati tathA khaTvAdhopi na sthApayati, kintu dIpAdhAroparyyeva sthApayati, tasmAt praveshakA dIptiM pashyanti|
17 Nothing for is hidden which not manifest will become, nor [is] secret which certainly (not *no*) (may be known *N(k)O*) and to light come.
yanna prakAshayiShyate tAdR^ig aprakAshitaM vastu kimapi nAsti yachcha na suvyaktaM prachArayiShyate tAdR^ig gR^iptaM vastu kimapi nAsti|
18 do take heed therefore how you hear; who[ever] (maybe *NK(o)*) for shall have, will be given to him, and who[ever] (maybe *NK(o)*) not shall have, even what he seems to have it will be taken away from him.
ato yUyaM kena prakAreNa shR^iNutha tatra sAvadhAnA bhavata, yasya samIpe barddhate tasmai punardAsyate kintu yasyAshraye na barddhate tasya yadyadasti tadapi tasmAt neShyate|
19 (she came *N(k)O*) then to Him the mother and the brothers of Him and not they were able to get to Him because of the crowd.
apara ncha yIsho rmAtA bhrAtarashcha tasya samIpaM jigamiShavaH
20 (and *k*) It was told (also *no*) to Him (saying: *k*) The mother of You and the brothers of You have stood outside to see wanting You.
kintu janatAsambAdhAt tatsannidhiM prAptuM na shekuH| tatpashchAt tava mAtA bhrAtarashcha tvAM sAkShAt chikIrShanto bahistiShThanatIti vArttAyAM tasmai kathitAyAM
21 But answering He said to them; Mother of Mine and brothers of mine those are who the word of God are hearing and doing (it. *k*)
sa pratyuvAcha; ye janA Ishvarasya kathAM shrutvA tadanurUpamAcharanti taeva mama mAtA bhrAtarashcha|
22 (and *k*) It came to pass (then *no*) on one of the days also He himself climbed into a boat with the disciples of Him and He said to them; Let us pass over to the other side of the lake. And they launched out.
anantaraM ekadA yIshuH shiShyaiH sArddhaM nAvamAruhya jagAda, AyAta vayaM hradasya pAraM yAmaH, tataste jagmuH|
23 When were sailing then they He fell asleep, And came down a storm of wind on the lake, and they were being swamped and were in danger.
teShu naukAM vAhayatsu sa nidadrau;
24 Having come to [Him] then they awoke Him saying; Master Master, we are perishing! And (having arisen up *N(k)O*) He rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. and they ceased, and there was a calm.
athAkasmAt prabalajha nbhshagamAd hrade naukAyAM tara NgairAchChannAyAM vipat tAn jagrAsa|tasmAd yIshorantikaM gatvA he guro he guro prANA no yAntIti gaditvA taM jAgarayAmbabhUvuH|tadA sa utthAya vAyuM tara NgAMshcha tarjayAmAsa tasmAdubhau nivR^itya sthirau babhUvatuH|
25 He said then to them; Where (is *k*) the faith of you? Having been afraid then they marveled saying to one another; Who then this is for even to the winds He commands and to the water, and they obey Him?
sa tAn babhAShe yuShmAkaM vishvAsaH ka? tasmAtte bhItA vismitAshcha parasparaM jagaduH, aho kIdR^igayaM manujaH pavanaM pAnIya nchAdishati tadubhayaM tadAdeshaM vahati|
26 And they sailed down to the region of the (Gerasenes *N(K)O*) which is opposite Galilee.
tataH paraM gAlIlpradeshasya sammukhasthagiderIyapradeshe naukAyAM lagantyAM taTe. avarohamAvAd
27 Having gone forth then to Him upon the land met (with him *ko*) a man certain out of the city (who *ko*) (is having *N(k)O*) demons. and (from *k*) (time a long *N(k)O*) not (was wearing *N(k)O*) clothing and in a house not was abiding but in the tombs.
bahutithakAlaM bhUtagrasta eko mAnuShaH purAdAgatya taM sAkShAchchakAra| sa manuSho vAso na paridadhat gR^ihe cha na vasan kevalaM shmashAnam adhyuvAsa|
28 Having seen then Jesus (and *k*) having cried out he fell down before Him and in a voice loud said; What to me myself and to You, Jesus, Son of God the Most High? I implore of You not me You may torment!
sa yIshuM dR^iShTvaiva chIchChabdaM chakAra tasya sammukhe patitvA prochchairjagAda cha, he sarvvapradhAneshvarasya putra, mayA saha tava kaH sambandhaH? tvayi vinayaM karomi mAM mA yAtaya|
29 He was commanding for to the spirit unclean to come out from the man; Many for times it had seized him, and (he was shackled *N(k)O*) with chains and in fetters being kept, and breaking the chains he was driven (by *NK(o)*) the (demon *N(k)O*) into the deserts.
yataH sa taM mAnuShaM tyaktvA yAtum amedhyabhUtam Adidesha; sa bhUtastaM mAnuSham asakR^id dadhAra tasmAllokAH shR^i Nkhalena nigaDena cha babandhuH; sa tad bhaMktvA bhUtavashatvAt madhyeprAntaraM yayau|
30 Asked now him Jesus (saying: *ko*) What your name is And he said; (Legion; *N(k)O*) because were entered demons many into him.
anantaraM yIshustaM paprachCha tava kinnAma? sa uvAcha, mama nAma bAhino yato bahavo bhUtAstamAshishriyuH|
31 And (they were begging *N(k)O*) Him that not he would command to them into the abyss to go away. (Abyssos )
atha bhUtA vinayena jagaduH, gabhIraM garttaM gantuM mAj nApayAsmAn| (Abyssos )
32 There was now there a herd of pigs many (feeding *N(k)O*) in the mountain, and (they begged *N(k)O*) Him that He would allow them into them to enter. and He allowed them.
tadA parvvatopari varAhavrajashcharati tasmAd bhUtA vinayena prochuH, amuM varAhavrajam Ashrayitum asmAn anujAnIhi; tataH sonujaj nau|
33 Having gone out then the demons from the man (they entered *N(k)O*) into the pigs, and rushed the herd down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
tataH paraM bhUtAstaM mAnuShaM vihAya varAhavrajam AshishriyuH varAhavrajAshcha tatkShaNAt kaTakena dhAvanto hrade prANAn vijR^ihuH|
34 Having seen then those feeding [them] what (already happening *N(k)O*) they fled and (having gone *K*) they reported [it] to the city and to the country.
tad dR^iShTvA shUkararakShakAH palAyamAnA nagaraM grAma ncha gatvA tatsarvvavR^ittAntaM kathayAmAsuH|
35 They went out then to see that having happened and they came to Jesus and found sitting the man from whom the demons (had gone out *N(k)O*) clothed and being of sound mind at the feet of Jesus, And they were afraid.
tataH kiM vR^ittam etaddarshanArthaM lokA nirgatya yIshoH samIpaM yayuH, taM mAnuShaM tyaktabhUtaM parihitavastraM svasthamAnuShavad yIshoshcharaNasannidhau sUpavishantaM vilokya bibhyuH|
36 Related then to them (and *k*) those having seen [it] how was healed the [one] having been demonised.
ye lokAstasya bhUtagrastasya svAsthyakaraNaM dadR^ishuste tebhyaH sarvvavR^ittAntaM kathayAmAsuH|
37 And (asked *N(k)O*) Him all the multitude of the surrounding region of the (Gerasenes *N(K)O*) to depart from them, because with fear great they were seized. He himself now having climbed into (the *k*) boat turned back.
tadanantaraM tasya giderIyapradeshasya chaturdiksthA bahavo janA atitrastA vinayena taM jagaduH, bhavAn asmAkaM nikaTAd vrajatu tasmAt sa nAvamAruhya tato vyAghuTya jagAma|
38 (Was begging *N(k)O*) however Him the man from whom had gone out the demons to be [taken] with Him. He sent away however him (*k*) (Jesus *K*) saying;
tadAnIM tyaktabhUtamanujastena saha sthAtuM prArthayA nchakre
39 do return to the house of you and do relate how much for you has done God. And he departed through all the city proclaiming how much did for him Jesus.
kintu tadartham IshvaraH kIdR^i NmahAkarmma kR^itavAn iti niveshanaM gatvA vij nApaya, yIshuH kathAmetAM kathayitvA taM visasarja| tataH sa vrajitvA yIshustadarthaM yanmahAkarmma chakAra tat purasya sarvvatra prakAshayituM prArebhe|
40 (it came to pass *K*) When then ([is] returning *N(k)O*) Jesus received Him the crowd; they were for all looking for Him.
atha yIshau parAvR^ityAgate lokAstaM AdareNa jagR^ihu ryasmAtte sarvve tamapekShA nchakrire|
41 And behold came a man whose name [was] Jairus, and (he *N(k)O*) a ruler of the synagogue was. and having fallen at the feet of Jesus he was begging Him to come to the house of him
tadanantaraM yAyIrnAmno bhajanagehasyaikodhipa Agatya yIshoshcharaNayoH patitvA svaniveshanAgamanArthaM tasmin vinayaM chakAra,
42 because daughter an only was to him about years [old] twelve and she was dying. As then [is] to go He the crowds were pressing around Him.
yatastasya dvAdashavarShavayaskA kanyaikAsIt sA mR^itakalpAbhavat| tatastasya gamanakAle mArge lokAnAM mahAn samAgamo babhUva|
43 And a woman being with a flux of blood for years twelve, who (into *k*) (on physicians *N(k)O*) having spent all the living (of her *ko*) neither was able (by *N(k)O*) no [one] to be healed,
dvAdashavarShANi pradararogagrastA nAnA vaidyaishchikitsitA sarvvasvaM vyayitvApi svAsthyaM na prAptA yA yoShit sA yIshoH pashchAdAgatya tasya vastragranthiM pasparsha|
44 having come behind [Him] she touched the fringe the of cloak of Him, and immediately stopped the flux of the blood of her.
tasmAt tatkShaNAt tasyA raktasrAvo ruddhaH|
45 And said Jesus; Who [is] the [one] having touched Me? When is denying [it] however everyone said Peter (and those *KO*) (with him: *K(o)*) Master, the people surround You and press in (and say which one having touched me. *KO*)
tadAnIM yIshuravadat kenAhaM spR^iShTaH? tato. anekairana NgIkR^ite pitarastasya sa NginashchAvadan, he guro lokA nikaTasthAH santastava dehe gharShayanti, tathApi kenAhaM spR^iShTaiti bhavAn kutaH pR^ichChati?
46 But Jesus said; Touched Me someone; I myself for know power (having left *N(k)O*) from Me.
yIshuH kathayAmAsa, kenApyahaM spR^iShTo, yato mattaH shakti rnirgateti mayA nishchitamaj nAyi|
47 Having seen then the woman that not she was hid, trembling she came and having fallen down before Him, for what cause she touched Him she declared (to him *k*) before all the people and how she was healed immediately.
tadA sA nArI svayaM na gupteti viditvA kampamAnA satI tasya sammukhe papAta; yena nimittena taM pasparsha sparshamAtrAchcha yena prakAreNa svasthAbhavat tat sarvvaM tasya sAkShAdAchakhyau|
48 And He said to her; (Take courage *K*) (daughter, *N(k)O*) the faith of you has healed you; do go in peace.
tataH sa tAM jagAda he kanye susthirA bhava, tava vishvAsastvAM svasthAm akArShIt tvaM kShemeNa yAhi|
49 Still when he is speaking comes one from the synagogue ruler saying (to him *ko*) that Has died the daughter of You; (no longer *N(K)O*) do trouble the Teacher.
yIshoretadvAkyavadanakAle tasyAdhipate rniveshanAt kashchilloka Agatya taM babhAShe, tava kanyA mR^itA guruM mA klishAna|
50 But Jesus having heard He answered to him (saying; *k*) Not do fear; only (do believe, *N(k)O*) and she will be saved.
kintu yIshustadAkarNyAdhipatiM vyAjahAra, mA bhaiShIH kevalaM vishvasihi tasmAt sA jIviShyati|
51 (having entered *N(k)O*) then into the house not He did allow to go in (anyone *N(k)O*) (with Him *NO*) only except Peter and John and James, and the father of the child and the mother.
atha tasya niveshane prApte sa pitaraM yohanaM yAkUba ncha kanyAyA mAtaraM pitara ncha vinA, anyaM ka nchana praveShTuM vArayAmAsa|
52 They were weeping now all and they were mourning for her. But He said; Not do weep; not (for *no*) she is dead but sleeps.
apara ncha ye rudanti vilapanti cha tAn sarvvAn janAn uvAcha, yUyaM mA rodiShTa kanyA na mR^itA nidrAti|
53 And they were laughing at Him, knowing that she was dead.
kintu sA nishchitaM mR^iteti j nAtvA te tamupajahasuH|
54 He himself now (having taken out outside all and *K*) having taken hold of the hand of her called out saying: O Child, (do arise. *N(k)O*)
pashchAt sa sarvvAn bahiH kR^itvA kanyAyAH karau dhR^itvAjuhuve, he kanye tvamuttiShTha,
55 And returned the spirit of her, and she arose immediately, and He directed to her to be given to eat.
tasmAt tasyAH prANeShu punarAgateShu sA tatkShaNAd uttasyau| tadAnIM tasyai ki nchid bhakShyaM dAtum Adidesha|
56 And were amazed the parents of her. and He instructed to them no one to tell what having happened.
tatastasyAH pitarau vismayaM gatau kintu sa tAvAdidesha ghaTanAyA etasyAH kathAM kasmaichidapi mA kathayataM|
