Luke 14

1 And it came to pass on the going of Him into a house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread and they themselves were watching Him.

Il arriva aussi que [Jésus] étant entré un jour de Sabbat dans la maison d'un des principaux des Pharisiens, pour prendre son repas, ils l'observaient.

2 And behold a man certain there was with dropsy before Him.

Et voici, un homme hydropique était là devant lui.

3 And answering Jesus spoke to the lawyers and to [the] Pharisees saying; (if *k*) Is it lawful on the Sabbath (to heal *N(k)O*) (or not? *NO*)

Et Jésus prenant la parole, parla aux Docteurs de la Loi, et aux Pharisiens, disant: est-il permis de guérir au jour du Sabbat?

4 But they were silent. And having taken hold [of him] He healed him and let [him] go.

Et ils ne dirent mot. Alors ayant pris [le malade], il le guérit, et le renvoya.

5 And (answering *k*) to them He said; Which of you (a son *N(K)O*) or an ox into a pit (will collapse, *N(k)O*) also surely immediately he will pull up him on (*ko*) day the Sabbath?

Puis s'adressant à eux, il leur dit: qui sera celui d'entre vous, qui ayant un âne ou un bœuf lequel vienne à tomber dans un puits, ne l'en retire aussitôt le jour du Sabbat?

6 And not they were able to reply (to him *k*) to these things.

Et ils ne pouvaient répliquer à ces choses.

7 He was speaking then to those invited a parable remarking how the first places they were choosing out, saying to them;

Il proposait aussi aux conviés une similitude, prenant garde comment ils choisissaient les premières places à table, et il leur disait:

8 When you may be invited by anyone to wedding feasts, not may recline in the first place, otherwise otherwise [one] more honorable than you may have been invited by him,

Quand tu seras convié par quelqu'un à des noces, ne te mets point à table à la première place, de peur qu'il n'arrive qu'un plus honorable que toi soit aussi convié;

9 and having come the [one] you and him having invited he will say to you; do give to this one [your] place. and then you will begin with shame the last place to take.

Et que celui qui vous aura convié, ne vienne, et ne te dise: donne ta place à celui-ci; et qu'alors tu ne commences avec honte de te mettre à la dernière place.

10 But when you may be invited, having gone (do recline *N(k)O*) in the last place, so that when may come the [one] having invited you, (he will say *N(k)O*) to you; Friend, do come up higher. Then will be to you glory before (all *NO*) those reclining [with] you.

Mais quand tu seras convié, va, et te mets à la dernière place, afin que quand celui qui t'a convié viendra, il te dise: mon ami, monte plus haut; et alors cela te tournera à honneur devant tous ceux qui seront à table avec toi.

11 For everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, and the [one] humbling himself will be exalted.

Car quiconque s'élève, sera abaissé; et quiconque s'abaisse, sera élevé.

12 He was saying then also to the [one] having invited Him; When you may make a dinner or a supper, not do call the friends of you nor [call] the brothers of you nor [call] the relatives of you nor [call] neighbours rich otherwise otherwise also they themselves may invite in return you and it may become recompense to you.

Il disait aussi à celui qui l'avait convié: quand tu fais un dîner ou un souper, n'invite point tes amis, ni tes frères, ni tes parents, ni tes riches voisins; de peur qu'ils ne te convient à leur tour, et que la pareille ne te soit rendue.

13 But when a feast you may make do call [the] poor, [the] crippled, [the] lame, [the] blind.

Mais quand tu feras un festin, convie les pauvres, les impotents, les boiteux et les aveugles;

14 and blessed you will be, because nothing they have to repay you; It will be recompensed for to you in the resurrection of the righteous.

Et tu seras bienheureux de ce qu'ils n'ont pas de quoi te rendre la pareille; car la pareille te sera rendue en la résurrection des justes.

15 Having heard then one of those reclining with [Him] these things he said to Him; Blessed [is he] (who *N(k)O*) will eat (bread *NK(o)*) in the kingdom of God.

Et un de ceux qui étaient à table, ayant entendu ces paroles, lui dit: bienheureux sera celui qui mangera du pain dans le Royaume de Dieu.

16 But He said to him; A man certain (was preparing *N(k)O*) a supper great and invited many;

Et [Jésus] dit: un homme fit un grand souper, et y convia beaucoup de gens.

17 And he sent the servant of him at the hour of the supper to say to those invited; do come, for now ready [it] is (all things. *KO*)

Et à l'heure du souper il envoya son serviteur pour dire aux conviés: venez, car tout est déjà prêt.

18 And began with one [voice] all to excuse themselves. The first said to him; A field I have bought and I have need (going out *N(k)O*) (and *k*) to see it; I beg of you, do hold me excused.

Mais ils commencèrent tous unanimement à s'excuser. Le premier lui dit: j'ai acheté un héritage, et il me faut nécessairement partir pour l'aller voir; je te prie, tiens-moi pour excusé.

19 And another said; Yoke of oxen I have bought five and I am going to prove them; I beg of you do hold me excused.

Un autre dit: j'ai acheté cinq couples de bœufs, et je m'en vais les éprouver; je te prie, tiens-moi pour excusé.

20 And another said; A wife I have married and because of this not I am able to come.

Et un autre dit: j'ai épousé une femme, c'est pourquoi je n'y puis aller.

21 And having come the servant (that *k*) reported to the master of him these things. Then having become angry the master of the house said to the servant of him; do go out soon into the streets and lanes of the city, and the poor and crippled and blind and lame do bring in here.

Ainsi le serviteur s'en retourna, et rapporta ces choses à son maître. Alors le père de famille tout en colère, dit à son serviteur: va-t'en promptement dans les places et dans les rues de la ville, et amène ici les pauvres, et les impotents, et les boiteux et les aveugles.

22 And said the servant; Sir, it has been done (as *N(k)O*) you did command, and still room there is.

Puis le serviteur dit: Maître, il a été fait ainsi que tu as commandé, et il y a encore de la place.

23 And said the master to the servant; do go out into the highways and hedges and do compel [them] to come in so that may be filled of mine the house.

Et le maître dit au serviteur: va dans les chemins et le long des haies, et [ceux que tu trouveras], contrains-les d'entrer, afin que ma maison soit remplie.

24 I say for to you that not [one] of the men of those which invited will taste my supper (many for are called few but chosen. *O*)

Car je vous dis qu'aucun de ces hommes qui avaient été conviés ne goûtera de mon souper.

25 Were going with then Him crowds great. and having turned He said to them;

Or de grandes troupes allaient avec lui; et lui se tournant leur dit:

26 If anyone comes to Me and not he hates the father (of himself *NK(o)*) and the mother and the wife and the children and the brothers and the sisters yes (and *N(k)O*) even the life his own not he is able to be My disciple.

Si quelqu'un vient vers moi, et ne hait pas son père et sa mère, et sa femme et ses enfants, et ses frères, et ses sœurs, et même sa propre vie, il ne peut être mon disciple.

27 (and *ko*) Whoever not carries the cross (of himself *NK(o)*) and comes after Me, not is able to be My disciple.

Et quiconque ne porte sa croix, et ne vient après moi, il ne peut être mon disciple.

28 Which for of you (who *o*) is desiring a tower to build not first he having sat down he counts the cost whether he has (*k*) (for *N(k)O*) [its] completion?

Mais qui est celui d'entre vous, qui voulant bâtir une tour, ne s'asseye premièrement, et ne calcule la dépense pour voir s'il a de quoi l'achever?

29 Thus otherwise otherwise [when] laying of it a foundation and not being able to finish all those seeing [it] may begin him to mock

De peur qu'après en avoir jeté le fondement, et n'ayant pu achever, tous ceux qui le verront ne commencent à se moquer de lui;

30 saying that This man began to build and not he was able to finish.

En disant: cet homme a commencé à bâtir, et il n'a pu achever.

31 Or what king proceeding with another king to engage in war not having sat down first (will take counsel *N(k)O*) whether able he is with ten thousand (to meet *N(k)O*) the [one] with twenty thousand coming against him?

Ou, qui est le Roi qui parte pour donner bataille à un autre Roi, qui premièrement ne s'asseye, et ne consulte s'il pourra avec dix mille [hommes] aller à la rencontre de celui qui vient contre lui avec vingt mille?

32 lest then except indeed still of him far off being an embassy having sent he asks for peace.

Autrement, il lui envoie une ambassade, pendant qu'il est encore loin, et demande la paix.

33 So therefore every one of you who not does give up all his own possessions, not is able to be My disciple.

Ainsi donc chacun de vous qui ne renonce pas à tout ce qu'il a, ne peut être mon disciple.

34 Good [is] (therefore *NO*) the salt; if however (even *no*) the salt shall become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned?

Le sel est bon; mais si le sel devient insipide, avec quoi le salera-t-on?

35 Neither [is it] for soil nor for manure fit is it; out they cast it. The [one] having ears to hear he should hear.

Il n'est propre ni pour la terre, ni pour le fumier; [mais] on le jette dehors. Qui a des oreilles pour ouïr, qu'il entende!
