Judges 8
1 And they said to him [the] man of Ephraim what? [is] the thing this [which] you have done to us to not to summon us that you went to fight against Midian and they quarreled! with him with force.
Ma gli uomini di Efraim gli dissero: «Che azione ci hai fatto, non chiamandoci quando sei andato a combattere contro Madian?». Litigarono con lui violentemente.
2 And he said to them what? have I done now like you ¿ not good [are] [the] gleanings of Ephraim more than [the] grape harvest of Abiezer.
Egli rispose loro: «Che ho fatto io in confronto a voi? La racimolatura di Efraim non vale più della vendemmia di Abiezer?
3 In hand your he has given God [the] commanders of Midian Oreb and Zeeb and what? have I been able to do like you then it relaxed spirit their from on him when said he the word this.
Dio vi ha messo nelle mani i capi di Madian, Oreb e Zeeb; che dunque ho potuto fare io in confronto a voi?». A tali parole, la loro ira contro di lui si calmò.
4 And he came Gideon the Jordan towards [was] passing over he and three hundred the man who [were] with him [were] exhausted and pursuing.
Gedeone arrivò al Giordano e lo attraversò. Ma egli e i suoi trecento uomini erano stanchi e affamati.
5 And he said to [the] people of Succoth give please round loaves of bread to the people which [is] at feet my for [are] exhausted they and I [am] pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna [the] kings of Midian.
Disse a quelli di Succot: «Date focacce di pane alla gente che mi segue, perché è stanca e io sto inseguendo Zebach e Zalmunna, re di Madian».
6 And he said [the] officials of Succoth ¿ [is] [the] hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in hand your that we will give to army your bread.
Ma i capi di Succot risposero: «Tieni forse gia nelle tue mani i polsi di Zebach e di Zalmunna, perché dobbiamo dare il pane al tuo esercito?».
7 And he said Gideon therefore when gives Yahweh Zebah and Zalmunna in hand my and I will thresh flesh your with thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
Gedeone disse: «Ebbene, quando il Signore mi avrà messo nelle mani Zebach e Zalmunna, vi strazierò le carni con le spine del deserto e con i cardi».
8 And he went up from there Penuel and he spoke to them like this and they answered him [the] men of Penuel just as they had answered [the] men of Succoth.
Di là salì a Penuel e parlò agli uomini di Penuel nello stesso modo; essi gli risposero come avevano fatto quelli di Succot.
9 And he said also to [the] men of Penuel saying when return I in peace I will tear down the tower this.
Egli disse anche agli uomini di Penuel: «Quando tornerò in pace, abbatterò questa torre».
10 And Zebah and Zalmunna [were] in Karkor and armies their [were] with them about fif-teen thousand all those [who] remained of all [the] army of [the] people of [the] east and those [who] fell [were] one hundred and twenty thousand man [who] drew [the] sword.
Zebach e Zalmunna erano a Karkor con il loro accampamento di circa quindicimila uomini, quanti erano rimasti dell'intero esercito dei figli dell'oriente; centoventimila uomini armati di spada erano caduti.
11 And he went up Gideon [the] way of those [who] dwell in tents from [the] east of Nobah and Jogbehah and he attacked the army and the army it was security.
Gedeone salì per la via dei nomadi a oriente di Nobach e di Iogbea e mise in rotta l'esercito che si credeva sicuro.
12 And they fled Zebah and Zalmunna and he pursued after them and he captured [the] two - [the] kings of Midian Zebah and Zalmunna and all the army he routed.
Zebach e Zalmunna si diedero alla fuga, ma egli li inseguì, prese i due re di Madian, Zebach e Zalmunna, e sbaragliò tutto l'esercito.
13 And he returned Gideon [the] son of Joash from the battle from to [the] ascent of Heres.
Poi Gedeone, figlio di Ioas, tornò dalla battaglia per la salita di Cheres.
14 And he captured a young man one of [the] men of Succoth and he enquired of him and he wrote down to him [the] officials of Succoth and elders its seventy and seven man.
Catturò un giovane della gente di Succot e lo interrogò; quegli gli mise per iscritto i nomi dei capi e degli anziani di Succot: settantasette uomini.
15 And he came to [the] men of Succoth and he said here! Zebah and Zalmunna whom you taunted me saying ¿ [is] [the] hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in hand your that we will give to men your weary bread.
Poi venne alla gente di Succot e disse: «Ecco Zebach e Zalmunna, a proposito dei quali mi avete insultato dicendo: Hai tu forse gia nelle mani i polsi di Zebach e Zalmunna perché dobbiamo dare il pane alla tua gente stanca?».
16 And he took [the] elders of the city and [the] thorns of the wilderness and the briers and he taught with them [the] men of Succoth.
Prese gli anziani della città e con le spine del deserto e con i cardi castigò gli uomini di Succot.
17 And [the] tower of Penuel he tore down and he killed [the] men of the city.
Demolì la torre di Penuel e uccise gli uomini della città.
18 And he said to Zebah and to Zalmunna where? [are] the men whom you killed at Tabor (and they said *L(abh)*) like you like them one [was] like [the] appearance of [the] sons of the king.
Poi disse a Zebach e a Zalmunna: «Come erano gli uomini che avete uccisi al Tabor?». Quelli risposero: «Erano come te; ognuno di loro aveva l'aspetto di un figlio di re».
19 And he said [were] brothers my [the] sons of mother my they [by] [the] life of Yahweh if you had let live them not I killed you.
Egli riprese: «Erano miei fratelli, figli di mia madre; per la vita del Signore, se aveste risparmiato loro la vita, io non vi ucciderei!».
20 And he said to Jether firstborn his arise kill them and not he drew the young man sword his for he was afraid for still he [was] a young man.
Poi disse a Ieter, suo primogenito: «Su, uccidili!». Ma il giovane non estrasse la spada, perché aveva paura, poiché era ancora giovane.
21 And he said Zebah and Zalmunna arise you and fall on us for [is] like the man strength his and he arose Gideon and he killed Zebah and Zalmunna and he took the ornaments which [were] on [the] necks of camels their.
Zebach e Zalmunna dissero: «Suvvia, colpisci tu stesso, poiché qual è l'uomo, tale è la sua forza». Gedeone si alzò e uccise Zebach e Zalmunna e prese le lunette che i loro cammelli portavano al collo.
22 And they said [the] man of Israel to Gideon rule over us both you as well as son your as well as [the] son of son your for you have delivered us from [the] hand of Midian.
Allora gli Israeliti dissero a Gedeone: «Regna su di noi tu e i tuoi discendenti, poiché ci hai liberati dalla mano di Madian».
23 And he said to them Gideon not I will rule I over you and not he will rule son my over you Yahweh he will rule over you.
Ma Gedeone rispose loro: «Io non regnerò su di voi né mio figlio regnerà; il Signore regnerà su di voi».
24 And he said to them Gideon let me ask from you a petition and give to me everyone earring of plunder his for earrings of gold [belonged] to them for [were] Ishmaelites they.
Poi Gedeone disse loro: «Una cosa voglio chiedervi: ognuno di voi mi dia un pendente del suo bottino». I nemici avevano pendenti d'oro, perché erano Ismaeliti.
25 And they said certainly we will give [them] and they spread out the garment and they threw there towards everyone earring of plunder his.
Risposero: «Li daremo volentieri». Egli stese allora il mantello e ognuno vi gettò un pendente del suo bottino».
26 And it was [the] weight of [the] earrings of gold which he asked for one thousand and seven hundred gold apart from the ornaments and the pendants and [the] garments of purple that [were] on [the] kings of Midian and apart from the necklaces which [were] on [the] necks of camels their.
Il peso dei pendenti d'oro, che egli aveva chiesti, fu di millesettecento sicli d'oro, oltre le lunette, le catenelle e le vesti di porpora, che i re di Madian avevano addosso, e oltre le collane che i loro cammelli avevano al collo.
27 And he made it Gideon into an ephod and he placed it in city his in Ophrah and they acted as prostitutes all Israel after it there and it became for Gideon and for household his a snare.
Gedeone ne fece un efod che pose in Ofra sua città; tutto Israele vi si prostrò davanti in quel luogo e ciò divenne una causa di rovina per Gedeone e per la sua casa.
28 And it was subdued Midian before [the] people of Israel and not they repeated to lift up head their and it was at peace the land forty year[s] in [the] days of Gideon.
Così Madian fu umiliato davanti agli Israeliti e non alzò più il capo; il paese rimase in pace per quarant'anni, durante la vita di Gedeone.
29 And he went Jerub-Baal [the] son of Joash and he dwelt in own house his.
Ierub-Baal, figlio di Ioas, tornò a dimorare a casa sua.
30 And to Gideon they belonged seventy sons [who] came out of thigh his for wives many they belonged to him.
Gedeone ebbe settanta figli che gli erano nati dalle molte mogli.
31 And concubine his who [was] in Shechem she bore to him also she a son and he made name his Abimelech.
Anche la sua concubina che stava a Sichem gli partorì un figlio, che chiamò Abimèlech.
32 And he died Gideon [the] son of Joash in old age good and he was buried in [the] tomb of Joash father his in Ophrah of [the] Abi-ezrite[s].
Poi Gedeone, figlio di Ioas, morì in buona vecchiaia e fu sepolto nella tomba di Ioas suo padre a Ofra degli Abiezeriti.
33 And it was just when he had died Gideon and they turned back [the] people of Israel and they acted as prostitutes after the Baals and they made for themselves Baal-Berith into god.
Dopo la morte di Gedeone gli Israeliti tornarono a prostituirsi a Baal e presero Baal-Berit come loro dio.
34 And not they remembered [the] people of Israel Yahweh God their who delivered them from [the] hand of all enemies their from round about.
Gli Israeliti non si ricordarono del Signore loro Dio che li aveva liberati dalle mani di tutti i loro nemici all'intorno
35 And not they did loyalty with [the] house of Jerub-Baal Gideon according to all the good which he had done with Israel.
e non dimostrarono gratitudine alla casa di Ierub-Baal, cioè di Gedeone, per tutto il bene che egli aveva fatto a Israele.
