< Judges 7 >
1 And he rose early Jerub-Baal that [is] Gideon and all the people which [was] with him and they encamped at En Harod and [the] camp of Midian it was of him from [the] north from [the] hill of Moreh in the valley.

2 And he said Yahweh to Gideon [is too] numerous the people which [is] with you than to give I Midian in hand their lest it should glorify itself over me Israel saying hand my it has delivered me.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kia Kitione, “Ko e kakai ʻoku ʻiate koe kuo tokolahi fau, ke tuku ki honau nima ʻae kakai Mitiane, telia naʻa vikiviki ai ʻa ʻIsileli kiate au, ʻo pehē, Ko hoku nima pē ʻoʻoku kuo ne fakamoʻui au.
3 And therefore proclaim please in [the] ears of the people saying who? [is] fearful and trembling let him go back and he may go from [the] mountain of Gilead and it returned of the people twenty and two thousand and ten thousand they remained.
Pea ko eni, ke ke ʻalu, pea kalanga ʻi he telinga ʻoe kakai, ʻo pehē, ‘Ko ia fulipē ʻoku vaivai mo manavahē, ke foki ia ʻo ʻalu vave mei he moʻunga ko Kiliati.’” Pea naʻe foki ʻo ʻalu ʻae toko ua mano mo e toko ua afe ʻoe kakai; pea naʻe toe ʻae toko mano.
4 And he said Yahweh to Gideon still the people [is] numerous bring down them to the water so I may test it for you there and it will be [the one] whom I will say to you this [one] - he will go with you he he will go with you and every [one] whom I will say to you this [one] not he will go with you he not he will go.
Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Kitione, “ʻOku kei tokolahi fau ʻae kakai: ke ke ʻomi ʻakinautolu ki he vai, pea te u ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi ai maʻau: pea ʻe pehē, ko ia ʻoku ou pehē ai kiate koe, Ko eni ia ʻe ʻalu mo koe, ko ia ia te mo ō: pea ko ia fulipē ʻoku ou pehē ai kiate koe, Ko eni ia ʻe ʻikai ʻalu mo koe, ko ia ia ʻe ʻikai te mo ō.”
5 And he brought down the people to the water. And he said Yahweh to Gideon every [one] who he will lap up with tongue his some of the water just as it laps up the dog you will set him alone and every [one] who he will bow down on knees his to drink.
Ko ia ne ʻave ʻae kakai ki he vai pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Kitione, “Ko ia fulipē ʻoku ʻemo ʻae vai ʻaki hono ʻelelo, ʻo hangē ko e ʻemo ʻae kulī, te ke tuku kehe ia: pea ʻe pehē mo ia fulipē ʻoku punou ʻo tūʻulutui ki hono tui ke inu.”
6 And it was [the] number of those [who] lapped with hand their to mouth their three hundred man and all [the] remainder of the people they bowed down on knees their to drink water.
Pea ko hono lau ʻokinautolu naʻe ʻemo, ʻo ʻai honau nima ki honau ngutu, ko e kau tangata ʻe toko tolungeau: ka ko hono toe ʻoe kakai kotoa pē naʻe punou hifo ki honau tui ke inu ʻae vai.
7 And he said Yahweh to Gideon by three hundred the man who lapped I will deliver you and I will give Midian in hand your and all the people let them go each to own place his.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kia Kitione, “ʻI he kau tangata ʻe toko tolungeau ʻaia naʻe ʻemo te u fakamoʻui ʻakimoutolu, pea te u tukuange ʻae kakai Mitiane ki ho nima: pea tuku ʻae kakai kehe kotoa pē kenau ʻalu taki taha ki hono potu.”
8 And they took provision[s] the people in hand their and trumpets their and every man of Israel he sent away each to tents his and on three hundred the man he kept hold and [the] camp of Midian it was to him from under in the valley.
Ko ia naʻe toʻo ai ʻe he kakai ʻae meʻakai ʻi honau nima, mo ʻenau meʻalea: pea ne fekau hono toe ʻo ʻIsileli ʻae tangata taki taha ki hono fale fehikitaki, kae taʻofi ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko tolungeau ko ia: pea naʻe ʻi lalo ʻiate ia ʻae tau lahi ʻo Mitiane ʻi he teleʻa.
9 And it was in the night that and he said to him Yahweh arise go down in the camp for I have given it in hand your.
Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he pō ko ia, naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kiate ia, “Tuʻu hake, pea ke ʻalu hifo ki [honau ]matatau; he kuo u tukuange ia ki ho nima.
10 And if [are] afraid you to go down go down you and Purah servant your to the camp.
Pea kapau ʻoku ke manavahē ke ʻalu hifo, mo ō mo Fiula ko ho tauhi ki he tau lahi:
11 And you will hear what? will they speak and after they will be strong hands your and you will go down in the camp and he went down he and Purah servant his to [the] edge of those arrayed for battle who [were] in the camp.
Pea ke fanongo ki he meʻa ʻoku nau lau: pea hili ia ʻe mālohi ho nima ke ke ʻalu hifo ai ki he tau.” Pea naʻe ʻalu hifo ia mo Fiula ko hono tauhi ki he potu ʻituʻa ʻi he kau tangata toʻo mahafutau naʻe ʻi he tau.
12 And Midian and Amalek and all [the] people of [the] east [were] lying in the valley like locust[s] for multitude and [belonged] to camels their not number like the sand that [is] on [the] shore of the sea for multitude.
Pea naʻe mafola atu ʻi he teleʻa ʻae kakai Mitiane, mo e kakai ʻAmaleki, mo e fānau kotoa pē ʻoe potu hahake ʻo hangē ko e fanga heʻe hono toko lahi: pea ko ʻenau fanga kāmeli naʻe taʻefaʻalaua, ʻo hangē ko hono lahi ʻoe ʻoneʻone ʻi he matātahi.
13 And he came Gideon and there! a man [was] recounting to neighbor his a dream and he said here! a dream I have dreamed and there! (a round loaf of *Q(K)*) bread of barley [was] tumbling in [the] camp of Midian and it came to the tent and it struck it and it fell and it overturned it upwards and it fell the tent.
Pea ʻi he hoko ki ai ʻa Kitione, vakai, naʻe ʻi ai ʻae tangata naʻe fakahā ʻene misi ki hono tokoua, ʻo ne pehē, “Vakai, ne u misi ʻae misi, pea vakai, naʻe tō mai ha foʻi mā paʻale ki he tau lahi ʻo Mitiane, pea naʻe lave ia ki ha fale fehikitaki, pea holo ai, ʻo fulihi, pea naʻe holo ki lalo ʻae fale.”
14 And he answered neighbor his and he said not this [is] except [the] sword of Gideon [the] son of Joash a man of Israel he has given God in hand his Midian and all the army.
Pea naʻe lea hono tokoua, ʻo pehē, “ʻOku ʻikai ha meʻa kehe eni, ka ko e heletā ʻa Kitione ko e foha ʻo Soasi, ko e tangata ʻIsileli: he kuo tuku ki hono nima ʻe he ʻOtua ʻa Mitiane, mo e tau kotoa pē.”
15 And it was when heard Gideon [the] recounting of the dream and interpretation its and he bowed down and he returned to [the] camp of Israel and he said arise for he has given Yahweh in hand your [the] camp of Midian.
Pea ʻi he fanongo ʻa Kitione ki he fakahā ʻae misi, mo hono ʻuhinga ʻo ia, pea pehē, naʻe hū ia, pea toe liu atu ki he tau ʻa ʻIsileli, ʻo ne pehē, “Tuʻu hake he kuo tuku ʻe Sihova ki homou nima ʻae tau lahi ʻo Mitiane.”
16 And he divided three hundred the man three companies and he put trumpets in [the] hand of all of them and jars empty and torches in [the] midst of the jars.
Pea naʻa ne vahe tolu ʻae kau tangata ʻe tolungeau ki he vāhenga kongakau ʻe tolu, ʻo ne ʻai ʻae meʻalea ʻi he nima ʻoe tangata kotoa pē, mo e ngeʻesi ipu, mo e maama ʻi he loto ipu.
17 And he said to them from me you will see and thus you will do and here! I [will be] coming in [the] edge of the camp and it will be just as I will do so you will do!
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia kiate kinautolu, “Sio mai kiate au, pea faʻifaʻitaki mai: pea vakai, ʻo kau ka hoko ki he potu ʻituʻa ʻoe ʻapitanga, pea ʻe pehē, ko ia te u fai ʻeau, ʻe pehē pe hoʻomou fai.
18 And I will give a blast on the trumpet I and all who [are] with me and you will give a blast on the trumpets also you all around all the camp and you will say for Yahweh and for Gideon.
ʻO kau ka ifi ʻeau ʻae meʻalea, ʻeau mo kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻiate au, mou ifi meʻalea ʻakimoutolu foki ʻi he potu kotoa pē ʻoe ʻapitanga kotoa pē, ʻo lea pehē, ‘[Ko e heletā ]ʻa Sihova, pea mo Kitione.’”
19 And he went Gideon and one hundred man who [were] with him in [the] edge of the camp [the] beginning of the watch middle just as certainly they had stationed the watchmen and they gave a blast on the trumpets and they smashed the jars which [were] in hand their.
Ko ia naʻe hoko ʻa Kitione mo e kau tangata ʻe toko teau naʻe ʻiate ia, ki he tuʻa ʻapitanga ʻi he kamataʻanga ʻoe lakanga leʻo tuʻuapō: pea kuo nau toki fakanofo ʻae kau leʻo pea naʻa nau ifi ʻae ngaahi meʻalea, pea maumau ʻae ngaahi ipu naʻe ʻi honau nima.
20 And they gave a blast [the] three the companies on the trumpets and they broke the jars and they took hold in [the] hand of left their on the torches and in [the] hand of right their the trumpets to give a blast and they called out a sword for Yahweh and for Gideon.
Pea naʻe ifi meʻalea ʻe he kongakau ʻe tolu, pea maumau ʻenau ngaahi ipu, kae puke ʻae ngaahi maama ʻi honau nima, mo e meʻalea honau nima toʻomataʻu ke ifi ʻaki: pea naʻa nau kalanga, “Ko e heletā ʻa Sihova, pea mo Kitione.”
21 And they stood everyone in place his round about the camp and it ran all the army and they shouted in distress (and they fled. *Q(K)*)
Pea naʻa nau tuʻu ʻae tangata taki taha ʻi hono potu ʻo takatakai ʻi he ʻapitanga: pea naʻe feleleʻi ʻae tau kotoa pē, pea tangi, mo hola.
22 And they gave a blast [the] three hundred the trumpets and he set Yahweh [the] sword of each on neighbor his and on all the army and it fled the army to Beth Shittah towards Zererah to [the] border of Abel Meholah at Tabbath.
Pea naʻe ifi ʻaki ʻae meʻalea ʻe he toko tolungeau, pea naʻe fai ʻe Sihova ke ʻai ʻe he tangata kotoa pē ʻene heletā ki hono tokoua ʻi he tau kotoa pē: pea naʻe hola ʻae tau ki Pete-Sita ʻi Selelati, pea ki he potu ʻo ʻEpeli-Mihola, ʻo aʻu ki Tapati.
23 And it was summoned [the] man of Israel from Naphtali and from Asher and from all Manasseh and they pursued after Midian.
Pea naʻe fakataha ʻae kau tangata ʻo ʻIsileli mei Nafitali, pea mei ʻAseli, pea mei Manase kotoa pē, ʻonau tuli ki he kakai Mitiane.
24 And messengers he sent Gideon in all [the] hill country of Ephraim saying come down to meet Midian and capture to them the waters to Beth Barah and the Jordan and he was summoned every man of Ephraim and they captured the waters to Beth Barah and the Jordan.
Pea naʻe fekau ʻe Kitione ʻae kau talafekau ki he ngaahi potu kotoa pē ʻoe moʻunga ko ʻIfalemi, ʻo pehē, “Mou ʻalu hifo ʻo tauʻi ʻae kakai Mitiane pea muʻomuʻa atu ke maʻu ʻiate kinautolu ʻae ngaahi vai ʻo aʻu ki Petepala mo Sioatani.”
25 And they captured [the] two [the] commanders of Midian Oreb and Zeeb and they killed Oreb at [the] rock of Oreb and Zeeb they killed at [the] winepress of Zeeb and they pursued Midian and [the] head of Oreb and Zeeb they brought to Gideon from [the] other side of the Jordan.
Pea naʻa nau fakapōpula ʻae houʻeiki ʻe toko ua ʻoe kakai Mitiane, ko Olepi mo Siipi; pea nau tāmateʻi ʻa Olepi ʻi he fungamaka ko Olepi, pea nau tāmateʻi ʻa Siipi ʻi he tataʻoʻanga uaine ʻo Siipi, ʻonau tuli ʻa Mitiane, pea naʻa nau ʻomi ʻae ʻulu ʻo Olepi mo Siipi kia Kitione, ʻi he kauvai ʻe taha ʻo Sioatani.
