Judges 12

1 And it was summoned [the] man of Ephraim and it passed over Zaphon towards and they said to Jephthah why? - did you pass over - to wage war against [the] people of Ammon and us not you summoned to go with you house your we will burn over you with fire.

Les hommes d’Éphraïm se rassemblèrent, partirent pour le nord, et dirent à Jephthé: Pourquoi es-tu allé combattre les fils d’Ammon sans nous avoir appelés à marcher avec toi? Nous voulons incendier ta maison et te brûler avec elle.

2 And he said Jephthah to them a man of strife I was I and people my and [the] people of Ammon exceedingly and I summoned you and not you delivered me from hand their.

Jephthé leur répondit: Nous avons eu de grandes contestations, moi et mon peuple, avec les fils d’Ammon; et quand je vous ai appelés, vous ne m’avez pas délivré de leurs mains.

3 And I saw that not you ([were] a deliverer *L(abh)*) and I put! life my in palm my and I passed over! against [the] people of Ammon and he gave them Yahweh in hand my and why? have you come up against me the day this to fight against me.

Voyant que tu ne venais pas à mon secours, j’ai exposé ma vie, et j’ai marché contre les fils d’Ammon. L’Éternel les a livrés entre mes mains. Pourquoi donc aujourd’hui montez-vous contre moi pour me faire la guerre?

4 And he gathered Jephthah all [the] men of Gilead and he fought with Ephraim and they attacked [the] men of Gilead Ephraim for they had said [are] fugitives of Ephraim you O Gilead in [the] midst of Ephraim in [the] midst of Manasseh.

Jephthé rassembla tous les hommes de Galaad, et livra bataille à Éphraïm. Les hommes de Galaad battirent Éphraïm, parce que les Éphraïmites disaient: Vous êtes des fugitifs d’Éphraïm! Galaad est au milieu d’Éphraïm, au milieu de Manassé!

5 And it captured Gilead [the] fords of the Jordan to Ephraim and it was that they said [the] fugitives of Ephraim let me pass over and they said to him [the] men of Gilead ¿ an Ephrathite [are] you and he said - no.

Galaad s’empara des gués du Jourdain du côté d’Éphraïm. Et quand l’un des fuyards d’Éphraïm disait: Laissez-moi passer! Les hommes de Galaad lui demandaient: Es-tu Éphraïmite? Il répondait: Non.

6 And they said to him say please Shibboleth and he said Sibboleth and not he gave attention to speak right and they seized him and they slaughtered him to [the] fords of the Jordan and it fell at the time that of Ephraim forty and two thousand.

Ils lui disaient alors: Hé bien, dis Schibboleth. Et il disait Sibboleth, car il ne pouvait pas bien prononcer. Sur quoi les hommes de Galaad le saisissaient, et l’égorgeaient près des gués du Jourdain. Il périt en ce temps-là quarante-deux mille hommes d’Éphraïm.

7 And he judged Jephthah Israel six years and he died Jephthah the Gileadite and he was buried in [the] cities of Gilead.

Jephthé fut juge en Israël pendant six ans; puis Jephthé, le Galaadite, mourut, et fut enterré dans l’une des villes de Galaad.

8 And he judged after him Israel Ibzan from Beth-lehem.

Après lui, Ibtsan de Bethléhem fut juge en Israël.

9 And it belonged to him thirty sons and thirty daughters he sent away the outside towards and thirty daughters he brought for sons his from the outside and he judged Israel seven years.

Il eut trente fils, il maria trente filles au-dehors, et il fit venir pour ses fils trente filles du dehors. Il fut juge en Israël pendant sept ans;

10 And he died Ibzan and he was buried in Beth-lehem.

puis Ibtsan mourut, et fut enterré à Bethléhem.

11 And he judged after him Israel Elon the Zebulunite and he judged Israel ten years.

Après lui, Élon de Zabulon fut juge en Israël. Il fut juge en Israël pendant dix ans;

12 And he died Elon the Zebulunite and he was buried in Aijalon in [the] land of Zebulun.

puis Élon de Zabulon mourut, et fut enterré à Ajalon, dans le pays de Zabulon.

13 And he judged after him Israel Abdon [the] son of Hillel the Pirathonite.

Après lui, Abdon, fils d’Hillel, le Pirathonite, fut juge en Israël.

14 And it belonged to him forty sons and thirty sons of sons [who] rode on seventy donkeys and he judged Israel eight years.

Il eut quarante fils et trente petits-fils, qui montaient sur soixante dix ânons. Il fut juge en Israël pendant huit ans;

15 And he died Abdon [the] son of Hillel the Pirathonite and he was buried at Pirathon in [the] land of Ephraim in [the] hill country of the Amalekite[s].

puis Abdon, fils d’Hillel, le Pirathonite, mourut, et fut enterré à Pirathon, dans le pays d’Éphraïm, sur la montagne des Amalécites.
