Judges 12
1 And it was summoned [the] man of Ephraim and it passed over Zaphon towards and they said to Jephthah why? - did you pass over - to wage war against [the] people of Ammon and us not you summoned to go with you house your we will burn over you with fire.
Og hver Mand af Efraim blev opbudt og drog over mod Norden, og de sagde til Jeftha: Hvorfor gik du over til at stride imod Ammons Børn og kaldte os ikke at gaa med dig? Vi ville brænde dit Hus over dig med Ild.
2 And he said Jephthah to them a man of strife I was I and people my and [the] people of Ammon exceedingly and I summoned you and not you delivered me from hand their.
Og Jeftha sagde til dem: Jeg og mit Folk havde en svar Trætte med Ammons Børn; og jeg kaldte ad eder, men I frelste mig ikke af deres Haand.
3 And I saw that not you ([were] a deliverer *L(abh)*) and I put! life my in palm my and I passed over! against [the] people of Ammon and he gave them Yahweh in hand my and why? have you come up against me the day this to fight against me.
Der jeg saa, at du ikke vilde frelse, da satte jeg mit Liv i min Haand og drog over til Ammons Børn; og Herren gav dem i min Haand; og hvorfor komme I op til mig paa denne Dag at stride imod mig?
4 And he gathered Jephthah all [the] men of Gilead and he fought with Ephraim and they attacked [the] men of Gilead Ephraim for they had said [are] fugitives of Ephraim you O Gilead in [the] midst of Ephraim in [the] midst of Manasseh.
Og Jeftha samlede alle Mænd i Gilead og stred imod Efraim; og Mændene i Gilead sloge Efraim; thi de havde sagt: I Mænd af det Gilead, som ligger imellem Efraim og Manasse, ere Overløbere fra Efraim.
5 And it captured Gilead [the] fords of the Jordan to Ephraim and it was that they said [the] fugitives of Ephraim let me pass over and they said to him [the] men of Gilead ¿ an Ephrathite [are] you and he said - no.
Thi Gileaditerne indtoge Jordanens Færgestæder overfor Efraim, og det skete, naar nogen af de undkomne af Efraim sagde: Jeg vil gaa over, da sagde Mændene af Gilead til ham: Er du en Efratiter? og han sagde: Nej.
6 And they said to him say please Shibboleth and he said Sibboleth and not he gave attention to speak right and they seized him and they slaughtered him to [the] fords of the Jordan and it fell at the time that of Ephraim forty and two thousand.

7 And he judged Jephthah Israel six years and he died Jephthah the Gileadite and he was buried in [the] cities of Gilead.
Og Jeftha dømte Israel seks Aar; og Gileaditeren Jeftha døde og blev begraven i en af Stæderne udi Gilead.
8 And he judged after him Israel Ibzan from Beth-lehem.
Og efter ham dømte Ibzan af Bethlehem Israel.
9 And it belonged to him thirty sons and thirty daughters he sent away the outside towards and thirty daughters he brought for sons his from the outside and he judged Israel seven years.
Og han havde tredive Sønner, og tredive Døtre udstyrede han og indførte tredive Døtre til sine Sønner udenfra; og han dømte Israel syv Aar.
10 And he died Ibzan and he was buried in Beth-lehem.
Og Ibzan døde og blev begraven i Bethlehem.
11 And he judged after him Israel Elon the Zebulunite and he judged Israel ten years.
Og efter ham dømte Sebuloniteren Elon Israel; og han dømte Israel ti Aar.
12 And he died Elon the Zebulunite and he was buried in Aijalon in [the] land of Zebulun.
Og Sebuloniteren Elon døde, og han blev begraven i Ajalon udi Sebulons Land.
13 And he judged after him Israel Abdon [the] son of Hillel the Pirathonite.
Og efter ham dømte Pireathoniteren Abdon, Hillels Søn, Israel.
14 And it belonged to him forty sons and thirty sons of sons [who] rode on seventy donkeys and he judged Israel eight years.
Og han havde fyrretyve Sønner og tredive Sønnesønner, som rede paa halvfjerdsindstyve Asenfoler; og han dømte Israel otte Aar.
15 And he died Abdon [the] son of Hillel the Pirathonite and he was buried at Pirathon in [the] land of Ephraim in [the] hill country of the Amalekite[s].
Og Abdon, Pireathoniteren Hillels Søn døde; og han blev begraven i Pireathon udi Efraims Land paa Amalekiternes Bjerg.
