Joshua 9
1 And it was when heard all the kings who [were] on [the] other side of the Jordan in the hill country and in the Shephelah and in all [the] coast of the sea great to [the] front of Lebanon the Hittite[s] and the Amorite[s] the Canaanite[s] the Perizzite[s] the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s].
Unya ang tanang mga hari nga nagpuyo layo sa Jordan didto sa kabungtoran, ug sa mga anaa sa kapatagan daplin sa baybayon sa Dako nga Dagat atubangan sa Lebanon—ang mga Hitihanon, Amorihanon, Canaanhon, Perizihanon, Hebihanon, ug mga Jebusihanon—
2 And they gathered together all together to wage war with Joshua and with Israel mouth one.
nagkahiusa kining tanan ilalom sa usa ka mando, aron nga makiggubat batok kang Josue ug sa Israel.
3 And [the] inhabitants of Gibeon they heard [that] which he had done Joshua to Jericho and to Ai.
Sa dihang nadungog sa mga lumolupyo sa Gibeon ang mahitungod sa gibuhat ni Josue ngadto sa Jerico ug sa Ai,
4 And they acted also they with cunning and they went and they acted as ambassadors and they took sacks worn out for donkeys their and skin-bottles of wine worn out and split and tied up.
nakahimo sila ug plano sa pagpanglimbong. Miadto sila ingon nga mga mensahero. Nagkuha sila ug mga dunot nga mga sako ug gibutang nila kini sa ilang mga asno. Nagkuha usab sila ug daan nga mga sudlanan sa bino nga dunot, nangagisi, ug tinahian na.
5 And sandals worn out and patched [were] on feet their and garments worn out [were] on them and all [the] bread of provision[s] their it was dried up it was crumbs.
Nagsul-ob sila ug mga daan ug tinapakan nga mga sandalyas, ug nagbisti ug mga daan, ug gisigisi nga mga sapot. Ang tanang pagkaon nila nga tinapay gahi ug gipang-agop-op na.
6 And they went to Joshua to the camp Gilgal and they said to him and to [the] man of Israel from a land distant we have come and therefore make to us a covenant.
Unya miadto sila kang Josue didto sa kampo sa Gilgal ug miingon kaniya ug sa mga kalalakin-an sa Israel, “Nagpanaw kami gikan sa halayo kaayo nga nasod, busa karon paghimo ug kasabotan nganhi kanamo.”
7 (And he said *Q(K)*) [the] man of Israel to the Hivite[s] perhaps in midst my you [are] dwelling and how? (will I make *Q(k)*) to you a covenant.
Ang mga kalalakin-an sa Israel miingon sa mga Hebihanon, “Basin nagpuyo lamang kamo duol kanamo. Unsaon man namo paghimo ug kasabotan kaninyo?”
8 And they said to Joshua [are] servants your we and he said to them Joshua who? [are] you and from where? do you come.
Miingon sila kang Josue, “Imo kaming mga sulugoon.” Miingon si Josue kanila, “Kinsa man kamo? Diin man kamo gikan?”
9 And they said to him from a land distant very they have come servants your to [the] name of Yahweh God your for we have heard [the] report of him and all that he did in Egypt.
Miingon sila kaniya, “Mianhi ang imong mga sulugoon dinhi gikan pa sa halayong dapit, tungod sa ngalan ni Yahweh nga imong Dios. Among nadunggan ang mahitungod kaniya ug ang mahitungod sa tanan niyang gihimo sa Ehipto—
10 And - all that he did to [the] two [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [were] on [the] other side of the Jordan to Sihon [the] king of Heshbon and to Og [the] king of Bashan who [was] in Ashtaroth.
ug ang tanan niyang gihimo sa duha ka mga hari sa mga Amorihanon sa pikas bahin sa Jordan—ngadto kang Sihon nga hari sa Hesbon, ug ngadto kang Og nga hari sa Basan nga kaniadto anaa sa Astarot.
11 And they said to us elders our and all [the] inhabitants of land our saying take in hand your provision[s] for the journey and go to meet them and you will say to them [are] servants your we and therefore make to us a covenant.
Ang among mga kadagkoan ug ang tanang mga lumolupyo sa among nasod miingon kanamo, 'Pagdala kamo sa inyong mga gikinahanglan nganha sa inyong kamot alang sa inyong panaw. Panlakaw kamo aron makigkita kanila ug sultihi sila, “Inyo kaming mga sulugoon. Pakigsabot kanamo.”
12 This - bread our warm we took as our provisions it from homes our on [the] day came out we to come to you and now here! it has dried up and it has been crumbs.
Mao kini ang among tinapay, init pa kini sa dihang gikuha namo kini sa among mga panimalay sa adlaw nga miggikan na kami padulong kaninyo. Apan karon, tan-awa, gahi na kini ug giagop-op na.
13 And these [the] skin-bottles of wine which we filled new and here! they have split and these garments our and sandals our they have worn out from [the] greatness of the journey very.
Kining mga panit nga sudlanan sa bino, bag-o pa kini sa dihang amo kining gipuno sa bino, ug karon, tan-awa nagisi na kini. Ang among mga bisti ug ang among mga sandalyas nangadunot na gumikan sa layo kaayo nga panaw.'”
14 And they took the men some of provision[s] their and [the] mouth of Yahweh not they asked.
Busa gikuha sa mga Israelita ang uban sa ilang mga dala, apan wala sila mangayo ug giya kang Yahweh.
15 And he made to them Joshua peace and he made to them a covenant to let live them and they swore an oath to them [the] leaders of the congregation.
Nakighigala si Josue kanila ug naghimo ug kasabotan tali kanila, nga dili sila pamatyon. Nakigsaad usab kanila ang mga pangulo sa katawhan.
16 And it was from [the] end of three days after that they had made to them a covenant and they heard that [were] near they to him and in midst his they [were] dwelling.
Tulo ka adlaw human nakigsabot ang mga Israelita kanila, nasayran nila nga sila ilang mga silingan, ug nga nagpuyo sila duol kanila.
17 And they set out [the] people of Israel and they came to cities their on the day third and cities their [were] Gibeon and Kephirah and Beeroth and Kiriath Jearim.
Busa mipanaw ang katawhan sa Israel ug sa ikatulo nga adlaw miabot sila sa ilang mga siyudad. Ang ilang mga siyudad mao ang Gibeon, Chefira, Beerot, ug ang Keriat Jearim.
18 And not they attacked them [the] people of Israel for they had sworn an oath to them [the] leaders of the congregation by Yahweh [the] God of Israel and they grumbled all the congregation on the leaders.
Wala sila sulonga sa mga katawhan sa Israel tungod kay nakasaad man ang ilang mga pangulo kanila ngadto sa atubangan ni Yahweh, nga Dios sa Israel. Nagbagulbol ang tanang mga Israelita ngadto sa ilang mga pangulo.
19 And they said all the leaders to all the congregation we we have sworn an oath to them by Yahweh [the] God of Israel and therefore not we are able to touch them.
Apan miingon ang tanang mga pangulo ngadto sa tanang katawhan, “Nagsaad kami ngadto kanila pinaagi kang Yahweh, nga Dios sa Israel, busa karon dili kami makasakit kanila.
20 This we will do to them and we will let live them and not it will be towards us wrath on the oath which we swore to them.
Mao kini ang atong buhaton kanila: aron makalikay kita sa kasuko nga moabot kanato tungod sa saad nga atong gipanaad kanila, tugotan nato sila nga mabuhi.”
21 And they said to them the leaders let them live and they were cutters of wood and drawers of water for all the congregation just as they had spoken to them the leaders.
Miingon ang mga pangulo ngadto sa ilang katawhan, “Tugoti sila nga mabuhi.” Busa, nahimong mga tigbugha ug kahoy ug tigsag-ob ug tubig ang katawhan sa Gibeon alang sa tanang mga Israelita, sama sa giingon sa mga pangulo mahitungod kanila.
22 And he summoned them Joshua and he spoke to them saying why? did you deceive us saying [are] distant we from you very and you in midst our [are] dwelling.
Gitawag sila ni Josue ug giingnan, “Nganong inyo man kaming gilimbongan sa dihang miingon kamo, 'Layo kaayo kami gikan kaninyo', nga nagpuyo man lamang diay kamo duol kanamo?
23 And therefore [are] cursed you and not he will be cut off from you a slave and cutters of wood and drawers of water for [the] house of God my.
Karon, tungod niini, tinunglo kamo ug ang pipila kaninyo mahimong ulipon hangtod sa hangtod, kadtong mga tigbugha ug kahoy ug tigsag-ob ug tubig alang sa balay sa akong Dios.”
24 And they answered Joshua and they said that certainly it was told to servants your this: he had commanded Yahweh God your Moses servant his to give to you all the land and to destroy all [the] inhabitants of the land from before you and we were afraid very for lives our because of you and we did the thing this.
Mitubag sila kang Josue ug miingon, “Tungod kay giingon man nganhi sa imong mga sulugoon nga si Yahweh nga inyong Dios nagsugo sa iyang alagad nga si Moises sa paghatag sa tibuok yuta diha kaninyo ug sa paglaglag sa tanan nga mga nagpuyo niining yutaa—busa nangahadlok kami pag-ayo alang sa among mga kinabuhi tungod kaninyo. Maong nabuhat namo kini.
25 And therefore here we [are] in hand your according to the good and according to the right in view your to do to us do.
Karon, tan-awa, gigamhan na ninyo kami. Bisan unsa man ang anaa sa inyong hunahuna nga maayo ug husto nga buhaton nganhi kanamo, buhata kini.”
26 And he did to them thus and he delivered them from [the] hand of [the] people of Israel and not they killed them.
Busa gihimo kini ni Josue alang kanila: iya silang gitanggal gikan sa pagdumala sa mga Israelita, ug wala sila pamatya sa mga Israelita.
27 And he made them Joshua on the day that cutters of wood and drawers of water for the congregation and for [the] altar of Yahweh until the day this to the place which he will choose.
Nianang adlawa gihimo ni Josue nga mga tigbugha ug kahoy ug tigsag-ob ug tubig ang katawhan sa Gibeon alang sa mga lumolupyo, ug alang sa halaran ni Yahweh, hangtod karong adlawa, didto sa dapit nga gipili ni Yahweh.
