Joshua 6
1 And Jericho [was] shutting and shut up because of [the] people of Israel there not [was one] going out and there not [was one] coming.
Or Jérico se fermait, et se tenait soigneusement fermée, à cause des enfants d'Israël; il n'y avait personne qui en sortît, ni qui y entrât.
2 And he said Yahweh to Joshua see I have given in hand your Jericho and king its [the] mighty [men] of strength.
Et l'Eternel dit à Josué: Regarde, j'ai livré entre tes mains Jérico et son Roi, [et ses hommes] forts et vaillants.
3 And you will go around the city all [the] men of war you will encircle the city a time one thus you will do six days.
Vous tous donc, hommes de guerre, vous ferez le tour de la ville, en tournant une fois autour d'elle: tu feras ainsi durant six jours.
4 And seven priests they will carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark and on the day seventh you will go round the city seven times and the priests they will give a blast on the trumpets.
Et sept Sacrificateurs porteront sept cors de bélier devant l'Arche; mais au septième jour vous ferez sept fois le tour de la ville, et les Sacrificateurs sonneront du cor.
5 And it will be when blow - on [the] horn of ram's horn (just as hear you *Q(K)*) [the] sound of the trumpet they will shout all the people a shout loud and it will fall [the] wall of the city in place its and they will go up the people everyone before himself.
Et quand ils sonneront en long avec le cor de bélier, aussitôt que vous entendrez le son du cor, tout le peuple jettera un grand cri de joie, et la muraille de la ville tombera sous soi, et le peuple montera chacun vis-à-vis de soi.
6 And he called Joshua [the] son of Nun to the priests and he said to them lift up [the] ark of the covenant and seven priests they will carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before [the] ark of Yahweh.
Josué donc, fils de Nun, appela les Sacrificateurs, et leur dit: Portez l'Arche de l'alliance, et que sept Sacrificateurs prennent sept cors de bélier devant l'Arche de l'Eternel.
7 (And he said *Q(K)*) to the people pass on and go round the city and the armed [man] he will pass on before [the] ark of Yahweh.
Il dit aussi au peuple: Passez, et faites le tour de la ville, et que tous ceux qui seront armés passent devant l'Arche de l'Eternel.
8 And it was when had said Joshua to the people and seven the priests [who] were carrying seven [the] trumpets of rams' horns before Yahweh they passed on and they gave a blast on the trumpets and [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh [was] going after them.
Et quand Josué eut parlé au peuple, les sept Sacrificateurs qui portaient les sept cors de bélier devant l'Eternel passèrent, et sonnèrent des cors, et l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel les suivait.
9 And the armed [man] [was] walking before the priests ([who] give a blast on *Q(K)*) the trumpets and the rearguard [was] walking behind the ark walking and giving blasts on the trumpets.
Et ceux qui étaient armés allaient devant les Sacrificateurs qui sonnaient des cors; mais l'arrière-garde suivait après l'Arche; on sonnait des cors en marchant.
10 And the people he commanded Joshua saying not you must shout and not you must make heard voice your and not it will go out from mouth your a word until [the] day say I to you shout and you will shout.
Or Josué avait commandé au peuple, en disant: Vous ne jetterez point de cris de joie, et vous ne ferez point entendre votre voix, et il ne sortira point un seul mot de votre bouche, jusqu'au jour que je vous dirai: Jetez des cris de joie; alors vous le ferez.
11 And he caused to go around [the] ark of Yahweh the city it encircled [it] a time one and they went the camp and they stayed in the camp.
Ainsi il fit faire le tour de la ville à l'Arche de l'Eternel, en tournant tout alentour une fois, puis ils revinrent au camp, et y logèrent.
12 And he rose early Joshua in the morning and they lifted the priests [the] ark of Yahweh.
Ensuite Josué se leva de bon matin, et les Sacrificateurs portèrent l'Arche de l'Eternel.
13 And seven the priests [who] were carrying seven [the] trumpets of rams' horns before [the] ark of Yahweh [were] walking continuously and they gave blasts on the trumpets and the armed [man] [was] walking before them and the rearguard [was] walking behind [the] ark of Yahweh (walking *Q(K)*) and giving blasts on the trumpets.
Et les sept Sacrificateurs qui portaient les sept cors de bélier devant l'Arche de l'Eternel marchaient, et en allant ils sonnaient des cors; et ceux qui étaient armés allaient devant eux; puis l'arrière-garde suivait l'Arche de l'Eternel; on sonnait des cors en marchant.
14 And they went around the city on the day second a time one and they returned the camp thus they did six days.
Ainsi ils firent une fois le tour de la ville le second jour, et ils retournèrent au camp. Ils firent de même durant six jours.
15 And it was - on the day seventh and they rose early when came up the dawn and they went around the city according to the custom this seven times only on the day that they went round the city seven times.
Mais quand le septième jour fut venu, ils se levèrent dès le matin à l'aube du jour, et ils firent sept fois le tour de la ville en la même manière; ce jour-là seulement ils firent sept fois le tour de la ville.
16 And it was at the time seventh they gave a blast the priests on the trumpets and he said Joshua to the people shout for he has given Yahweh to you the city.
Et à la septième fois, comme les Sacrificateurs sonnaient des cors, Josué dit au peuple: Jetez des cris de joie, car l'Eternel vous a donné la ville.
17 And it will be the city a devoted thing it and all that [is] in it to Yahweh only Rahab the prostitute she will live she and every [one] who [is] with her in the house for she hid the messengers whom we sent.
La ville sera mise en interdit à l'Eternel, elle et toutes les choses qui y sont, seulement Rahab la paillarde vivra, elle et tous ceux qui seront avec elle dans la maison; parce qu'elle a caché soigneusement les messagers que nous avions envoyés.
18 And only you keep from the devoted thing[s] lest you should totally destroy and you will take any of the devoted thing[s] and you will make [the] camp of Israel into a devoted thing and you will trouble it.
Mais quoi qu'il en soit, donnez-vous garde de l'interdit, de peur que vous ne vous mettiez en interdit, en prenant de l'interdit, et que vous ne mettiez le camp d'Israël en interdit, et que vous ne le troubliez.
19 And all - silver and gold and articles of bronze and iron [is] a holy thing it to Yahweh [the] treasury of Yahweh it will go.
Mais tout l'argent et l'or, et les vaisseaux d'airain et de fer seront sanctifiés à l'Eternel; ils entreront au trésor de l'Eternel.
20 And it shouted the people and they gave a blast on the trumpets and it was when heard the people [the] sound of the trumpet and they shouted the people a shout loud and it fell the city wall in place its and it went up the people the city towards everyone before himself and they captured the city.
Le peuple donc jeta des cris de joie, et on sonna des cors. Et quand le peuple eut ouï le son des cors, et eut jeté un grand cri de joie, la muraille tomba sous soi; et le peuple monta dans la ville, chacun vis-à-vis de soi, et ils la prirent.
21 And they totally destroyed all that [was] in the city from man and unto woman from young man and unto old [man] and unto ox[en] and sheep and donkey[s] to [the] mouth of [the] sword.
Et ils mirent entièrement à la façon de l'interdit [et passèrent] au fil de l'épée tout ce qui [était] dans la ville, depuis l'homme jusqu'à la femme; depuis l'enfant jusqu'au vieillard, même jusqu'au bœuf, au menu bétail, et à l'âne.
22 And to two the men who had spied out the land he said Joshua go [the] house of the woman the prostitute and bring out from there the woman and every [one] who [belongs] to her just as you swore to her.
Mais Josué dit aux deux hommes qui avaient reconnu le pays: Entrez dans la maison de cette femme paillarde, et la faites sortir de là, avec tout ce qui lui [appartient], selon que vous lui avez juré.
23 And they went the young men who had spied out and they brought out Rahab and father her and mother her and brothers her and every [one] who [belonged] to her and all famili her they brought out and they put them from [the] outside of [the] camp of Israel.
Les jeunes hommes donc qui avaient reconnu [le pays], entrèrent, et firent sortir Rahab, et son père, et sa mère, et ses frères, avec tout ce qui lui appartenait, et ils firent sortir aussi toutes les familles qui lui appartenaient, et les mirent hors du camp d'Israël.
24 And the city they burned with fire and all that [was] in it only - the silver and the gold and [the] articles of bronze and iron they put [the] treasury of [the] house of Yahweh.
Puis ils brûlèrent par feu la ville et tout ce qui y était; seulement ils mirent l'argent et l'or et les vaisseaux d'airain et de fer au trésor de la Maison de l'Eternel.
25 And Rahab the prostitute and [the] household of father her and every [one] who [belonged] to her he let live Joshua and she has dwelt in [the] midst of Israel until the day this for she hid the messengers whom he had sent Joshua to spy out Jericho.
Ainsi Josué sauva la vie à Rahab la paillarde, et à la maison de son père, et à tous ceux qui lui appartenaient; et elle a habité au milieu d'Israël jusqu'à aujourd'hui, parce qu'elle avait caché les messagers que Josué avait envoyés pour reconnaître Jérico.
26 And he administered an oath Joshua at the time that saying [is] cursed the person before Yahweh who he will arise and he will rebuild the city this Jericho with firstborn his he will found it and with young [son] his he will set up gates its.
Et, en ce temps-là Josué jura, disant: Maudit [soit] devant l'Eternel l'homme qui se mettra à rebâtir cette ville de Jérico; il la fondera sur son premier-né, et il posera ses portes sur son puîné.
27 And he was Yahweh with Joshua and it was [the] report of him in all the land.
Et l'Eternel fut avec Josué; et sa renommée [se répandit] dans tout le pays.
