Joshua 5
1 And it was when heard all [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [were] on [the] other side of the Jordan west-ward and all [the] kings of the Canaanite[s] who [were] at the sea [they heard] this: he had dried up Yahweh [the] waters of the Jordan from before [the] people of Israel until (passing over they *Q(K)*) and it melted heart their and not it was in them still spirit because of [the] people of Israel.
Et lorsque tous les Rois des Amoréens qui étaient au delà du Jourdain à l'occident, et tous les Rois des Cananéens des côtes de la mer, apprirent que l'Éternel avait desséché les eaux du Jourdain devant les enfants d'Israël, jusqu'à ce que nous fussions passés, ils tremblèrent et n'eurent plus aucun courage pour tenir tête aux enfants d'Israël.
2 At the time that he said Yahweh to Joshua make for yourself knives of flint and return circumcise [the] people of Israel a second [time].
Dans ce même temps l'Éternel dit à Josué: Fais-toi des couteaux de pierre et recommence à circoncire de nouveau les enfants d'Israël.
3 And he made for himself Joshua knives of flint and he circumcised [the] people of Israel to [the] hill of foreskins.
Et Josué se fit des couteaux de pierre et circoncit les enfants d'Israël à la colline des prépuces.
4 And this [is] the reason why he circumcised Joshua all the people which had come out from Egypt the males all - [the] men of war they had died in the wilderness on the way when went out they from Egypt.
Or voici la raison pour laquelle Josué opéra une circoncision: tout le peuple sorti de l'Egypte, les hommes, les gens de guerre en totalité étaient morts dans le désert pendant la route lors de leur sortie d'Egypte.
5 For circumcised they had been all the people which came out and all the people born in the wilderness on the way when went out they from Egypt not people had circumcised.
Car tout le peuple à sa sortie se composait de circoncis; mais tout le peuple né dans le désert pendant la route lors de la sortie d'Egypte n'avait pas été circoncis.
6 For - forty year[s] they had walked [the] people of Israel in the wilderness until was finished all the nation [the] men of war who came out from Egypt who not they had listened to [the] voice of Yahweh whom he had sworn Yahweh to them to not to let to see them the land which he had sworn Yahweh to fathers their to give to us a land flowing of milk and honey.
En effet, pendant quarante ans, les enfants d'Israël durent errer dans le désert jusqu'à l'extinction de toute cette engeance de gens de guerre, sortis de l'Egypte, pour n'avoir pas obéi à la voix de l'Éternel; ce qui fit que l'Éternel leur jura qu'il ne leur permettrait pas de voir le pays que l'Éternel avait juré à leurs pères de nous donner, pays découlant de lait et de miel.
7 And children their he raised up in place of them them he circumcised Joshua for uncircumcised they were for not people had circumcised them on the way.
Et l'Éternel leur substitua leurs fils; ceux-ci furent donc circoncis par Josué, parce qu'ils étaient non circoncis; car on ne les avait pas circoncis en route.
8 And it was just when they had finished all the nation to be circumcised and they remained in place their in the camp until lived they.
Et quand tous ces individus eurent subi en totalité la circoncision, ils restèrent sur leur séant dans le camp jusqu'à leur rétablissement.
9 And he said Yahweh to Joshua this day I have rolled away [the] reproach of Egypt from on you and he called [the] name of the place that Gilgal until the day this.
Et l'Éternel dit à Josué: En ce jour je vous ai déchargés de l'opprobre des Égyptiens; alors ce lieu fut appelé du nom de Guilgal (décharge) et il l'a porté jusqu'aujourd'hui.
10 And they encamped [the] people of Israel at Gilgal and they observed the passover on [the] four-teen day of the month in the evening on [the] plains of Jericho.
Et les enfants d'Israël campèrent à Guilgal, et ils célébrèrent la Pâque le quatorzième jour du mois au soir dans les plaines de Jéricho.
11 And they ate some of [the] produce of the land from [the] next day of the passover unleavened bread and roasted [grain] on [the] substance of the day this.
Et ce jour-là même ils mangèrent des denrées du pays le lendemain de la Pâque, des azymes et du grain rôti.
12 And it ceased the manna from [the] next day when ate they some of [the] produce of the land and not it belonged again to [the] people of Israel manna and they ate some of [the] produce of [the] land of Canaan in the year that.
Et la manne cessa dès ce lendemain où ils mangèrent, des denrées du pays, et les enfants d'Israël n'eurent plus de manne dès lors, et ils se nourrirent des produits du pays de Canaan cette année-là.
13 And it was when was Joshua at Jericho and he lifted up eyes his and he saw and there! a man [was] standing to before him and sword his [was] drawn in hand his and he went Joshua to him and he said to him ¿ for us [are] you or? for foes our.
Et comme Josué était devant Jéricho, il arriva qu'ayant levé les yeux il regardait; et voilà qu'un homme se tenait debout en face de lui, son épée nue à la main. Et Josué alla à lui et lui dit: Es-tu des nôtres ou de nos ennemis?
14 And he said - In-deed I [am] [the] commander of [the] army of Yahweh now I have come and he fell Joshua to face his [the] ground towards and he bowed down and he said to him what? [is] lord my saying servant his.
Et il répondit: Non, mais je suis Chef d'Armée de l'Éternel; maintenant j'arrive… Alors Josué se jeta la face contre terre et se prosterna, et lui dit: Qu'est-ce que mon Seigneur veut dire à son serviteur?
15 And he said [the] commander of [the] army of Yahweh to Joshua take off sandal your from on foot your for the place which you [are] standing on it [is] a holy place it and he did Joshua thus.
Et le Chef d'Armée de l'Éternel dit à Josué: Ote tes sandales de tes pieds; car le lieu où tu te tiens est saint. Et ainsi fit Josué.
