Joshua 5
1 And it was when heard all [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [were] on [the] other side of the Jordan west-ward and all [the] kings of the Canaanite[s] who [were] at the sea [they heard] this: he had dried up Yahweh [the] waters of the Jordan from before [the] people of Israel until (passing over they *Q(K)*) and it melted heart their and not it was in them still spirit because of [the] people of Israel.
Lorsque tous les rois des Amorrhéens d'au delà du Jourdain, à l'occident, et tous les rois des Chananéens près de la mer, apprirent que Yahweh avait mis à sec les eaux du Jourdain devant les enfants d'Israël, jusqu'à ce que nous eussions passé, leur cœur se fondit et ils perdirent tout courage devant les enfants d'Israël.
2 At the time that he said Yahweh to Joshua make for yourself knives of flint and return circumcise [the] people of Israel a second [time].
Dans ce temps-là, Yahweh dit à Josué: « Fais-toi des couteaux de pierre et circoncis de nouveau les enfants d'Israël, une seconde fois. »
3 And he made for himself Joshua knives of flint and he circumcised [the] people of Israel to [the] hill of foreskins.
Josué se fit des couteaux de pierre, et il circoncit les enfants d'Israël sur la colline d'Araloth.
4 And this [is] the reason why he circumcised Joshua all the people which had come out from Egypt the males all - [the] men of war they had died in the wilderness on the way when went out they from Egypt.
Voici la raison pour laquelle Josué les circoncit. Tout le peuple sorti d'Egypte, les mâles, tous les hommes de guerre, étaient morts dans le désert, pendant la route, après leur sortie d'Egypte.
5 For circumcised they had been all the people which came out and all the people born in the wilderness on the way when went out they from Egypt not people had circumcised.
Car tout le peuple qui sortit était circoncis; mais tout le peuple né dans le désert, pendant la route, après la sortie d'Egypte, n'avait pas été circoncis.
6 For - forty year[s] they had walked [the] people of Israel in the wilderness until was finished all the nation [the] men of war who came out from Egypt who not they had listened to [the] voice of Yahweh whom he had sworn Yahweh to them to not to let to see them the land which he had sworn Yahweh to fathers their to give to us a land flowing of milk and honey.
Car les enfants d'Israël marchèrent pendant quarante ans dans le désert jusqu'à ce qu'eût péri toute la nation, savoir les hommes de guerre qui étaient sortis d'Egypte et n'avaient pas écouté la voix de Yahweh, et auxquels Yahweh avait juré de ne pas leur laisser voir le pays qu'il avait promis avec serment à leurs pères de nous donner, pays où coulent le lait et le miel.
7 And children their he raised up in place of them them he circumcised Joshua for uncircumcised they were for not people had circumcised them on the way.
Il établit leurs enfants à leur place, et ce sont eux que Josué circoncit, car ils étaient incirconcis parce qu'on ne les avait pas circoncis pendant la route.
8 And it was just when they had finished all the nation to be circumcised and they remained in place their in the camp until lived they.
Lorsqu'on eut achevé de circoncire toute la nation, ils restèrent à leur place dans le camp, jusqu'à leur guérison.
9 And he said Yahweh to Joshua this day I have rolled away [the] reproach of Egypt from on you and he called [the] name of the place that Gilgal until the day this.
Et Yahweh dit à Josué: « Aujourd'hui j'ai roulé de dessus vous l'opprobre de l'Egypte. » Et ce lieu reçut le nom de Galgala jusqu'à ce jour.
10 And they encamped [the] people of Israel at Gilgal and they observed the passover on [the] four-teen day of the month in the evening on [the] plains of Jericho.
Les enfants d'Israël campèrent à Galgala, et ils firent la Pâque le quatorzième jour du mois, sur le soir, dans les plaines de Jéricho.
11 And they ate some of [the] produce of the land from [the] next day of the passover unleavened bread and roasted [grain] on [the] substance of the day this.
Ils mangèrent dès le lendemain de la Pâque, du produit du pays des pains sans levain et du grain rôti, ce jour-là même.
12 And it ceased the manna from [the] next day when ate they some of [the] produce of the land and not it belonged again to [the] people of Israel manna and they ate some of [the] produce of [the] land of Canaan in the year that.
Et la manne cessa le lendemain de la Pâque, lorsqu'ils mangèrent du produit du pays; les enfants d'Israël n'eurent plus de manne, et ils mangèrent cette année-là des productions du pays de Chanaan.
13 And it was when was Joshua at Jericho and he lifted up eyes his and he saw and there! a man [was] standing to before him and sword his [was] drawn in hand his and he went Joshua to him and he said to him ¿ for us [are] you or? for foes our.
Comme Josué était près de Jéricho, il leva les yeux et regarda, et voici qu'un homme se tenait debout devant lui, son épée nue à la main. Josué alla vers lui et lui dit: « Es-tu pour nous, ou pour nos ennemis? »
14 And he said - In-deed I [am] [the] commander of [the] army of Yahweh now I have come and he fell Joshua to face his [the] ground towards and he bowed down and he said to him what? [is] lord my saying servant his.
Il répondit: « Non, mais c'est comme chef de l'armée de Yahweh que je viens maintenant. » Josué tomba le visage contre terre, se prosterna et lui dit: « Qu'est-ce que mon seigneur dit à son serviteur? »
15 And he said [the] commander of [the] army of Yahweh to Joshua take off sandal your from on foot your for the place which you [are] standing on it [is] a holy place it and he did Joshua thus.
Et le chef de l'armée de Yahweh dit à Josué: « Ôte ta chaussure de tes pieds, car le lieu sur lequel tu te tiens est saint. » Et Josué fit ainsi.
