Joshua 4
1 And it was just when they had finished all the nation to pass over the Jordan. And he said Yahweh to Joshua saying.
Cuando toda la nación hubo cruzado completamente el Jordán, Yahvé habló a Josué, diciendo:
2 Take for yourselves from the people two [plus] ten men a man one a man one from a tribe.
“Toma doce hombres del pueblo, un hombre de cada tribu,
3 And command them saying take up for yourselves from here from [the] middle of the Jordan from [the] standing-place of [the] feet of the priests to make firm two [plus] ten stones and you will take over them with you and you will set down them at the lodging place which you will stay at it this night.
y mándales decir: “Toma de la mitad del Jordán, del lugar donde los pies de los sacerdotes estaban firmes, doce piedras, llévalas contigo y ponlas en el lugar donde acamparás esta noche.”
4 And he called Joshua to two [plus] the ten man whom he had appointed from [the] people of Israel a man one a man one from a tribe.
Entonces Josué llamó a los doce hombres que había preparado de los hijos de Israel, un hombre de cada tribu.
5 And he said to them Joshua pass over before [the] ark of Yahweh God your into [the] middle of the Jordan and take up for yourselves each a stone one on shoulder his to [the] number of [the] tribes of [the] people of Israel.
Josué les dijo: “Crucen delante del arca de Yahvé su Dios hasta la mitad del Jordán, y cada uno de ustedes tome una piedra y póngasela al hombro, según el número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel;
6 So that it may be this a sign in midst your if they will ask! children your tomorrow saying what? [are] the stones these to you.
para que esto sea una señal entre ustedes, de modo que cuando sus hijos pregunten en el futuro, diciendo: “¿Qué significan estas piedras?”
7 And you will say to them that they were cut off [the] waters of the Jordan from before [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh when passed on it in the Jordan they were cut off [the] waters of the Jordan and they will become the stones these a reminder to [the] people of Israel until perpetuity.
entonces les dirán: “Porque las aguas del Jordán fueron cortadas delante del arca del pacto de Yahvé. Cuando cruzó el Jordán, las aguas del Jordán fueron cortadas. Estas piedras serán para memoria de los hijos de Israel para siempre’”.
8 And they did thus [the] people of Israel just as he had commanded Joshua and they took up two [plus] ten stones from [the] middle of the Jordan just as he had said Yahweh to Joshua to [the] number of [the] tribes of [the] people of Israel and they took over them with them to the lodging place and they set down them there.
Los hijos de Israel hicieron lo que Josué les había ordenado, y tomaron doce piedras del medio del Jordán, tal como el Señor le había dicho a Josué, según el número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel. Las llevaron consigo hasta el lugar donde acamparon, y las depositaron allí.
9 And two [plus] ten stones he set up Joshua in [the] middle of the Jordan in [the] standing-place of [the] feet of the priests [the] bearers of [the] ark of the covenant and they have been there until the day this.
Josué levantó doce piedras en medio del Jordán, en el lugar donde estaban los pies de los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca de la alianza; y allí están hasta el día de hoy.
10 And the priests [the] bearers of the ark [were] standing in [the] middle of the Jordan until was finished every thing which he had commanded Yahweh Joshua to speak to the people according to all that he had commanded Moses Joshua and they hurried the people and they passed over.
Porque los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca se pararon en medio del Jordán hasta que se terminó todo lo que el Señor le había ordenado a Josué que dijera al pueblo, según todo lo que Moisés le había ordenado a Josué; y el pueblo se apresuró a pasar.
11 And it was just when it had finished all the people to pass over and it passed over [the] ark of Yahweh and the priests before the people.
Cuando todo el pueblo hubo cruzado completamente, el arca de Yahvé cruzó con los sacerdotes en presencia del pueblo.
12 And they passed over [the] descendants of Reuben and [the] descendants of Gad and [the] half of [the] tribe of Manasseh arrayed for battle before [the] people of Israel just as he had spoken to them Moses.
Los hijos de Rubén, los hijos de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés pasaron armados delante de los hijos de Israel, tal como Moisés les había dicho.
13 About forty thousand armed [men] of war they passed over before Yahweh for battle to [the] plains of Jericho.
Unos cuarenta mil hombres, listos y armados para la guerra, pasaron delante de Yahvé a la batalla, a las llanuras de Jericó.
14 On the day that he made great Yahweh Joshua in [the] eyes of all Israel and they feared him just as they had feared Moses all [the] days of life his.
Aquel día, el Señor engrandeció a Josué a los ojos de todo Israel, y le temieron como a Moisés todos los días de su vida.
15 And he said Yahweh to Joshua saying.
Yahvé habló a Josué, diciendo:
16 Command the priests [the] bearers of [the] ark of the testimony so they may come up from the Jordan.
“Ordena a los sacerdotes que llevan el arca de la alianza que suban del Jordán”.
17 And he commanded Joshua the priests saying come up from the Jordan.
Por eso Josué ordenó a los sacerdotes diciendo: “¡Suban del Jordán!”
18 And it was (just as came up *Q(K)*) the priests [the] bearers of [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh from [the] middle of the Jordan they were drawn out [the] soles of [the] feet of the priests to the dry ground and they returned [the] waters of the Jordan to place their and they went as yesterday three days ago over all banks its.
Cuando los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca de la alianza de Yahvé subieron por la mitad del Jordán, y las plantas de los pies de los sacerdotes se alzaron hasta la tierra seca, las aguas del Jordán volvieron a su lugar y se desbordaron por todas sus orillas, como antes.
19 And the people they went up from the Jordan on the ten of the month first and they encamped at Gilgal on [the] edge of [the] east of Jericho.
El pueblo subió del Jordán el décimo día del primer mes y acampó en Gilgal, en el límite oriental de Jericó.
20 And two [plus] ten the stones these which they had taken from the Jordan he set up Joshua at Gilgal.
Josué colocó en Gilgal las doce piedras que sacaron del Jordán.
21 And he said to [the] people of Israel saying that they will ask! children your tomorrow fathers their saying what? [are] the stones these.
Habló a los hijos de Israel, diciendo: “Cuando vuestros hijos pregunten a sus padres en el futuro, diciendo: “¿Qué significan estas piedras?”
22 And you will make known to children your saying on the dry ground it passed over Israel the Jordan this.
Entonces se lo haréis saber a vuestros hijos, diciendo: “Israel pasó este Jordán en seco.
23 That he dried up Yahweh God your [the] waters of the Jordan from before you until had passed over you just as he did Yahweh God your to [the] sea of reed[s] which he dried up from before us until had passed over we.
Porque Yahvé vuestro Dios secó las aguas del Jordán delante de ti hasta que cruzaste, como Yahvé vuestro Dios hizo con el Mar Rojo, que secó delante de nosotros hasta que cruzamos,
24 So as to know all [the] peoples of the earth [the] hand of Yahweh that [is] mighty it so that you may fear Yahweh God your all the days.
para que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que la mano de Yahvé es poderosa, y para que temas a Yahvé vuestro Dios para siempre.’”
