Joshua 24
1 And he gathered Joshua all [the] tribes of Israel Shechem towards and he summoned [the] elders of Israel and leaders its and judges its and officials its and they presented themselves before God.
Und Josua versammelte alle Stämme Israels zu Sichem und berief die Ältesten von Israel, die Häupter, Richter und Amtleute. Und als sie vor Gott getreten waren,
2 And he said Joshua to all the people thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel on [the] other side of the river they dwelt ancestors your from long ago Terah [the] father of Abraham and [the] father of Nahor and they served gods other.
sprach Josua zum ganzen Volk: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Eure Väter, Terach, Abrahams und Nahors Vater, wohnten vor Zeiten jenseits des [Euphrat] Stromes und dienten andern Göttern.
3 And I took ancestor your Abraham from [the] other side of the river and I led him in all [the] land of Canaan (and I increased *Q(k)*) offspring his and I gave to him Isaac.
Da nahm ich euren Vater Abraham von jenseits des Stromes und ließ ihn durch das ganze Land Kanaan wandern und mehrte seinen Samen und gab ihm Isaak.
4 And I gave to Isaac Jacob and Esau and I gave to Esau [the] mountain of Seir to take possession of it and Jacob and sons his they went down Egypt.
Und dem Isaak gab ich Jakob und Esau; und dem Esau gab ich das Gebirge Seir zum Erbbesitz. Jakob aber und seine Kinder zogen hinab nach Ägypten.
5 And I sent Moses and Aaron and I struck Egypt just as I did in midst its and after I brought out you.
Da sandte ich Mose und Aaron und plagte Ägypten, wie ich denn mitten unter ihnen getan habe.
6 And I brought out fathers your from Egypt and you came the sea towards and they pursued Egypt after fathers your with chariotry and with horsemen [the] sea of reed[s].
Darnach führte ich euch heraus. Als ich aber eure Väter aus Ägypten führte und ihr an das Meer kamet und die Ägypter euren Vätern mit Wagen und Reitern bis an das Schilfmeer nachjagten, da schrieen sie zum HERRN;
7 And they cried out to Yahweh and he put darkness between you - and between the Egyptians and he brought over it the sea and it covered it and they saw eyes your [that] which I did in Egypt and you dwelt in the wilderness days many.
der setzte eine Finsternis zwischen euch und die Ägypter und führte das Meer über sie und bedeckte sie. Und eure Augen haben gesehen, was ich in Ägypten getan habe. Darnach habt ihr lange Zeit in der Wüste gewohnt.
8 (And I brought *Q(K)*) you to [the] land of the Amorite[s] who dwelt on [the] other side of the Jordan and they fought with you and I gave them in hand your and you took possession of land their and I destroyed them from before you.
Dann brachte ich euch in das Land der Amoriter, die jenseits des Jordan wohnten; und als sie wider euch stritten, gab ich sie in eure Hand, so daß ihr derselben Land einnahmet, und ich vertilgte sie vor euch her.
9 And he arose Balak [the] son of Zippor [the] king of Moab and he fought against Israel and he sent and he summoned Balaam [the] son of Beor to curse you.
Da machte sich auf Balak, der Sohn Zippors, der König der Moabiter, und stritt wider Israel; und er sandte hin und ließ Bileam rufen, den Sohn Beors, damit er euch verfluche.
10 And not I was willing to listen to Balaam and he blessed continuously you and I delivered you from hand his.
Aber ich wollte Bileam nicht hören, sondern er mußte euch beständig segnen, und ich errettete euch aus seiner Hand.
11 And you passed over the Jordan and you came to Jericho and they fought against you [the] citizens of Jericho the Amorite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Canaanite[s] and the Hittite[s] and the Girgashite[s] the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s] and I gave them in hand your.
Und als ihr über den Jordan ginget und gen Jericho kamet, stritten die Bürger von Jericho wider euch, ebenso die Amoriter, Pheresiter, Kanaaniter, Hetiter, Girgasiter, Heviter und Jebusiter; aber ich gab sie in eure Hand.
12 And I sent before you the hornet and it drove out them from before you [the] two [the] kings of the Amorite[s] not by sword your and not by bow your.
Und ich sandte Hornissen vor euch her, die trieben sie aus vor euch her, nämlich die beiden Könige der Amoriter, nicht durch dein Schwert und nicht durch deinen Bogen.
13 And I gave to you a land - which not you had labored for it and cities which not you had built and you dwelt in them vineyards and olive trees which not you had planted you [are] eating.
Und ich habe euch ein Land gegeben, welches ihr nicht bearbeitet habt, und Städte, die ihr nicht gebaut habt, daß ihr darin wohnet; und ihr esset von Weinbergen und Olivenbäumen, die ihr nicht gepflanzt habt.
14 And therefore fear Yahweh and serve him in integrity and in faithfulness and remove [the] gods which they served ancestors your on [the] other side of the river and in Egypt and serve Yahweh.
So fürchtet nun den HERRN und dienet ihm aufrichtig und in der Wahrheit, und tut die Götter von euch, denen eure Väter jenseits des Stromes und in Ägypten gedient haben, und dienet dem HERRN!
15 And if is displeasing in view your to serve Yahweh choose for yourselves this day whom? will you serve! whether [the] gods which they served ancestors your who ([were] from [the] other side of *Q(K)*) the river and or [the] gods of the Amorite[s] whom you [are] dwelling in land their and I and household my we will serve Yahweh.
Gefällt es euch aber nicht, dem HERRN zu dienen, so erwählet euch heute, welchem ihr dienen wollt: den Göttern, denen eure Väter jenseits des Stromes gedient haben, oder den Göttern der Amoriter, in deren Land ihr wohnt; ich aber und mein Haus, wir wollen dem HERRN dienen!
16 And it answered the people and it said far be it to us from forsaking Yahweh to serve gods other.
Da antwortete das Volk und sprach: Das sei ferne von uns, daß wir den HERRN verlassen und andern Göttern dienen!
17 For Yahweh God our he [is] the [one who] brought up us and fathers our from [the] land of Egypt from a house of slaves and [the one] who he did to eyes our the signs great these and he kept us in all the way which we went in it and among all the peoples which we passed in midst their.
Denn der HERR, unser Gott, ist der, welcher uns und unsre Väter aus Ägyptenland, aus dem Diensthause, geführt und vor unsern Augen so große Zeichen getan und uns behütet hat auf dem ganzen Wege, den wir gegangen sind, und unter allen Völkern, an welchen wir vorübergezogen sind.
18 And he drove out Yahweh all the peoples and the Amorite[s] [who] dwelt of the land from before us also we we will serve Yahweh for he [is] God our.
Und der HERR hat alle Völker vor uns her ausgestoßen, ja auch die Amoriter, die im Lande wohnten. Auch wir wollen dem HERRN dienen, denn er ist unser Gott!
19 And he said Joshua to the people not you will be able to serve Yahweh for [is] a God holy he [is] a God jealous he not he will forgive to transgression your and sins your.
Josua sprach zum Volk: Ihr könnt dem HERRN nicht dienen; denn er ist ein heiliger Gott, ein eifriger Gott, der eure Übertretungen und Sünden nicht dulden wird.
20 If you will forsake Yahweh and you will serve gods of foreignness and he will turn and he will do harm to you and he will make an end of you after that he has done good to you.
Wenn ihr den HERRN verlasset und fremden Göttern dienet, so wird er sich von euch abwenden und euch Übles tun und euch aufreiben, nachdem er euch Gutes getan hat.
21 And it said the people to Joshua In-deed Yahweh we will serve.
Da sprach das Volk zu Josua: Nein; denn wir wollen dem HERRN dienen!
22 And he said Joshua to the people [are] witnesses you on yourselves that you you have chosen for yourselves Yahweh to serve him and they said witnesses.
Da sprach Josua zum Volk: Ihr seid Zeugen gegen euch, daß ihr euch den HERRN erwählt habt, um ihm zu dienen! Und sie sprachen: Ja, wir sind Zeugen!
23 And therefore remove [the] gods of foreignness which [are] in midst your and turn heart your to Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
So tut nun von euch [sprach er, ] die fremden Götter, die unter euch sind, und neiget euer Herz zu dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels!
24 And they said the people to Joshua Yahweh God our we will serve and to voice his we will listen.
Und das Volk sprach zu Josua: Wir wollen dem HERRN, unserm Gott, dienen und seiner Stimme gehorsam sein!
25 And he made Joshua a covenant to the people on the day that and he established for it a decree and a judgment at Shechem.
Also machte Josua an jenem Tag einen Bund mit dem Volk und legte ihnen Satzungen und Rechte vor zu Sichem.
26 And he wrote Joshua the words these in [the] book of [the] law of God and he took a stone large and he set up it there under the oak which [was] at [the] sanctuary of Yahweh.
Und Josua schrieb diese Worte in das Gesetzbuch Gottes, und er nahm einen großen Stein und richtete ihn daselbst auf unter der Eiche, die bei dem Heiligtum des HERRN war.
27 And he said Joshua to all the people here! the stone this it will become on us a witness for it it has heard all [the] words of Yahweh which he has spoken with us and it will become on you a witness lest you should deny! God your.
Und Josua sprach zum ganzen Volk: Siehe, dieser Stein soll Zeuge gegen uns sein; denn er hat alle Reden gehört, welche der HERR mit uns geredet hat, und er soll Zeuge gegen euch sein, daß ihr euren Gott nicht verleugnet!
28 And he sent away Joshua the people everyone to own inheritance his.
Also entließ Josua das Volk, einen jeden in sein Erbteil.
29 And it was after the things these and he died Joshua [the] son of Nun [the] servant of Yahweh a son of one hundred and ten years.
Und es begab sich nach diesen Geschichten, daß Josua, der Sohn Nuns, der Knecht des HERRN, starb, als er hundertundzehn Jahre alt war.
30 And people buried him in [the] territory of inheritance his at Timnath Serah which [is] in [the] hill country of Ephraim from [the] north of [the] mountain of Gaash.
Und man begrub ihn im Gebiet seines Erbteils, zu Timnat-Serach, das auf dem Gebirge Ephraim liegt, nördlich vom Berge Gaasch.
31 And it served Israel Yahweh all [the] days of Joshua and all - [the] days of the old [men] who they made long days after Joshua and who they knew all [the] work of Yahweh which he had done for Israel.
Und die Kinder Israel dienten dem HERRN, solange Josua lebte und die Ältesten, welche Josua überlebten, die auch alle Werke des HERRN wußten, welche er an Israel getan hatte.
32 And [the] bones of Joseph which they had brought up [the] people of Israel - from Egypt they buried at Shechem in [the] portion of the field which he had bought Jacob from with [the] sons of Hamor [the] father of Shechem for a hundred piece[s] of money and they became of [the] descendants of Joseph an inheritance.
Und die Gebeine Josephs, welche die Kinder Israel aus Ägypten heraufgebracht hatten, begruben sie zu Sichem in dem Stück Land, welches Jakob von den Kindern Hemors, des Vaters Sichems, um hundert Kesita gekauft hatte und das zum Erbteil der Kinder Joseph gehörte.
33 And Eleazar [the] son of Aaron he died and people buried him at Gibeah of Phinehas son his which it had been given to him in [the] hill country of Ephraim.
Eleasar, der Sohn Aarons, starb auch, und sie begruben ihn zu Gibea, [der Stadt] seines Sohnes Pinehas, die ihm auf dem Gebirge Ephraim gegeben worden war.
